Braked too late on Lap 1 and ran into the back of King giving myself enough engine damage that I fell way behind before even getting to pit road. Got it fixed and went out there on a 1-stop every 30 minutes strategy. Pretty boring race from there on, just about spun out somewhere around lap 30 but managed to save it with about 180 degrees of steering angle. Then mis-calculated the fuel mileage on my last stop and had to pit with 10 minutes to go for fuel. (Really wish you could splash and go without changing tires PD! Hello!)

Anyway, was fun while it lasted I guess. Considering the schedule of this series this will most likely be my first and last race.

Well I wish u would decided this before this race might have turned out different for me. Just don't get why would be that aggressive first Lap of 2 hr race

First I was happy that I just made room A

Little nervous on the start, and it showed. Wes slowly was pulling away from me and come lap 3 or 4 I had an off and got light damage on both front tires. After that I figured I was done, so I decided to change my stradegy up with the early pitstop. After the first stint nothing had really changed on the lineup, but after the next couple I noticed I was gaining a decent amount of ground up. Driving through the GT class was always fun and hope I didn't make things too close when making passes, did my best not to hit anybody.

While going through my pits stops I was adding the same amount each stop. I knew I was cutting it close on fuel. Last 3 laps I was just eyeing my fuel gauge. In the last 5 laps I had OK8 right there behind me after taking the lead on the last stint, all of a sudden with a few laps left I saw him pitting and went straight to conserving fuel the last few laps. Was able to come out on top with just a sliver away from red left in the fuel tank.

Great clean racing with everybody that I was around. Glad I could take advantage of Tony's absence.

It's not called being aggressive, it's called missing your braking point because you're going faster than usual in the draft. You want to debate it, let's go. Was a simple mistake, so take it how you want.

Excuse my language, but holy **** that was incredible.

I started off in 4th, with Wii just infront of me. I must of got a better start from the total sign as at the top of Eau Rouge, we we're literally parallel from drafts. He started to edge me towards the grass which to be honest I think was a little uncalled for, especially that early in the race, and thus resulting in me missing my braking spot as I was too busy trying not to say hello to the grass, and ended up letting pretty much every guy in the field past.

Took about 2 places back before Blanchimont, but as arriving there, there must of been 3-4 cars just flying everywhere. Not too sure what happened, but to my gains, I slowed down and gained them 3-4 places with Litchi just in front of me. Only myself to blame, I rushed entering the chicane, and I didn't realise Litch was about to enter the pit, so I got front right damage, nothing serious though.

For the first stint then, my goal pretty much was to catch Tim before lap 8/9, and pit and well pretty much rinse and repeat. I pitted around 5 or 6 times, roughly averaging out about 8 laps a stint if I drove like I stole it, keeping decent low 15's then slowly leveling off to 16-17s. Personal best being a 15.100 exactly which I was pretty chuffed at.

From the first stint being over, I pretty much repeated this with Tim, Wii and Paul passing every stint. Not too sure what Wii's strategy was, but it seemed pretty insane. On my 3rd pit, I completely filled the tank, putting me an entire minute behind which I thought was the end of my race, but the other guys must of done a similar fueling strategy a few laps later.

The last pit, I entered about 10 seconds behind Wii and the duration of his pit, he must of been refuelling. I exited about 5-6 seconds behind, and taking into consideration of his stints, I knew he'd be conserving his tires for near the end, so I tried to drive pretty much flat out. Must of caught him around lap 46-47 and we battled for first, but only overtaking on the Kemmel Straight. around lap 49, and the timer saying 1.59.20ish, I thought I was in the pot by taking him on the Kemmel Straight. With him sitting on my bumper throughout the entire lap, we got to Blanchimont and there was still no checkered flag, and with my fuel gauge already on red, I pretty much started ******** my pants..

We crossed the line, with still no checkered flag and my empty fuel tank, and exiting turn 1, I had him again, sitting on my bumper. We entered Eau Rouge but halfway up, the R8 just conked out so I pulled over, letting my chance of a victory just fly past. I was pretty pissed at myself to be honest, 1 extra litre and we would of made it as I think he ran out of fuel just before Blanchimont.. But yeah, only myself to blame.

Anyway, 2nd is better than nothing I guess, and with Paul placing 4th, that's some nice points in the bag for Audi Sport GT. Congratulations to Wii for the consistent racing too, played out very nicely at the end, and also to Paul and Tim for the battles during races.

Had a very intense race. The LMP field was very close and I was within sight of someone almost all race.

I managed to snatch the lead from w-g-e with a well timed pistop, he passed me again, and then I got the lead back and managed to keep it for a while. On the third stint, I was still in the lead but when coming up behind Litchi and someone else, my brain shut down and I braked one marker too late for the bus stop. Needless to say, I hit the wall and destroyed my left front corner.

Stunned by the accident, I decided to push on without pitting immediately which was a mistake. The left front wasn't behaving well in fast right handers like eau rouge and one of the corners towards the end of the lap, and I ended up losing quite a lot of time.

When I came back from the pits after fixing the damage, I just had to settle in the groove and try to work my way back up the standings. At this point, mine and Pag's pit strategies tied together and we were running quite close for a while, both of us pitting at the same time.

Towards the end, I had managed to secure a 2nd place and Dragon just pushed his way out of nowhere and was really setting the pace. At first I was slowly catching him (maybe 0.1 per lap) but suddenly my lap times started to decline and to my demise so did my fuel gauge. Ended up running out of fuel 5 minutes before the hour at braking for the bus stop so I managed to coast it to the pits and that extra pit stop cost me 2nd place.

All in all the race was brilliant. I was on my toes every lap, and the GT drivers showed great awareness too and I had no problems weaving around them. Really looking forward to Le Mans!

That was a ton of fun guys:tup:

First half of the race was a 1-2-3 with Eddie and Fabio - great racing guys, but I had to hit the washroom at the 1 hour mark :(
Went in to the pit ~5 seconds down, came out 1:30 down. Kicking myself over that...
2 other pitstops saw me get stuck sideways in the pit entrance :dunce: Really, really stupid...
Following that a good strategy race developed between myself Tim and Scott. I was sure Tim had to pit again to finish, and Scott was within 1 lap as far as I could tell. When I saw a triangle in the pit on the last lap, I knew I had a shot at 3rd. Nice finish Scott - what a way to end the race 👍

Congrats to all podium winners  Great win Eddie 👍
GT's had a great finish too - sorry I had to break you guys up in T3 of 2-3rd last lap but 3rd was calling me so I had to push it ;)

pick one and only one.

also, you*

I understand the draft but being a good driver specially a gt academy finalist u should know lap 1 of a 2 hour endurance race would tell you why would u be pushing it into a corner where 8 gt cars are nose to tail in the draft. But i guess im wrong.

Listen bud, we've never raced before so you really should just drop it. Ask anyone else in here that has raced with me (90% of them) if I'm aggressive and you'll get your answer.

(Listen Bud :nervous:) Do u think it matters to me what someone else tells me im going on my experience and what happened. I had no problems last two weeks with anyone i had practice races with. Either way glad to say buh bye.

No negativity Mike please. And if you think your accident was bad then I'd hate to see how you'd react to some of the accidents I've had. Just have a bit more patience and realize we're in it for fun.

Between Jason and I we have thousands of miles raced online, we know, trust us it's ok.

Flip it around and he wouldn't have even said anything.

Anyway, on to more race reports.

Whatever dude, have it your way. You obviously don't know me and it was a simple mistake/racing incident, so just back off.

I think you can at least apologise though.

As I am going to do to Tim. I can't check the replay now as somehow I can't shift to the next lap, only to the previous but I'm really sorry for what happened. In fact, I'm so down on this that I'm going to quit the R32 series to recover and start practising behind other cars. If it happens in Le Mans again, put me in GT class or DQ me completely.

As for the race I only remember that I made a lot of mistakes trying to lap GT class. I wasn't overly agressive but I couldn't judge the effect of slipstream, I also spun twice by myself, got damaged 5 times (once in the pit itself and was stuck in it) and I pushed fuel up to 84 in my last pitstop.

Congratulations to Ron for the room A LMP win and I don't want to congratulate anyone in GT class as I effected its result badly.:(

Just frustrating ill just have to be a bit more aggressive.

Damn sorry you ran out of fuel, I started coming up to you 2 towards the last half of the last lap. Noticed you 2 were racing for 1-2 after 2 hours of racing:tup: and decided to just sit cool behind you guys till I finished and let you all duke it out on the last lap.

RT agressive you mad or are we in an alternate universe :odd:?

My race was slow but consistant making no big mistakes and collected a solid 4th place :).

I did 9-11 lap stints with a measely 2:17.1 as my PB .

Edit: Dragon damn you not for saving Josh :sly:.

Also King the words "ill just have to be a bit more aggressive." Makes me cringe as aggression is never a solution!

Ahhh noo man, you would of been my saviour if you came charging in  but yeah, all in all, still a real fun race 👍

Well, it is for time trialing.:sly:

Awesome race 👍 It's incredible how after two hours, the top two end up battling it out for the lead in the final laps.

My pit strategy worked out wonderfully. I did 10 lap stints, so I pitted on laps 11, 21, 31, and 41. On my final stop, I made the right decision in taking 5 extra liters of fuel (30 instead of 25). It ended up making the difference as Josh unfortunately ran out of fuel on the final lap at Eau Rouge. I coasted for most of the rest of the lap as I knew I had the win in the bag, but had I kept going all out I think I would have had enough fuel to finish the lap.

I certainly was not the fastest car out there though. Tim's and Josh's best laps were in the low 2:15's, while I was doing mostly high 16's and low 17's, until my final stint were I did some low 16's. However the GT-R seems to treat its tires better than the Citroen and Audi which allowed me to do those 10 lap stints that made up for my slower pace.

It sucks what happened to Tim though. It would have been interesting to see where he ended up compared to me and Josh during the final stint. Heck, it could have even been a three-way battle which would have been insane

Anyways, I'm really looking forward to Le Mans. This race was already pretty wild, and I can only imagine what will happen at Le Mans if we get rain :scared:

Rain and time change will definitely boost the intensity. Can't wait :)

OK8
Rain and time change will definitely boost the intensity. Can't wait :)

Most definitely looking forward to it:tup: hopefully Toyota will have a better turnout at the home track of le mans. was kinda scared being surrounded by blue haha.

Yeah the field will definitely look a lot more interesting for Le Mans, expect people and cars qualifying all over the place.

Yes, really proud of the top-flight finish for team Toyota. Newsworthy stuff ;)

DragonGT83
what place you and Tim finish?

I finished dead last in LMP. From pole to gutter in room B.

Congratz on the win. 👍
