If you've got nothing to complain about you aren't trying hard enough. ;)

PB 1:10.738

here's my car dragon:

Thanks, will test that out later this evening. Time to watch replays and possibly engage the Neuron Assessment Program circuit.

Hopefully I'll be able to carry the necessary speed through that last turn regardless of what tune I end up using.

Ok, what arcane procedure did you use to get 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th to those values?

Done the whole reset to default and different combos of top speed to left/right and final to left/right and the values you show are not reachable so far as I can see with those various combinations.

1. set to default
2. move the final drive somewhere near 3
3. pull the top speed all the way down

if that doesn't give you a 6th gear ratio near 1.6 move the final and then juggle the top speed up and back down to the floor until you get a good 6th.

4. pull the final down to 2.0

there's oddness in GT5 where the lowest possible final drive produces faster acceleration.

Thanks!

No matter which way I went with the top speed or final I could either get the top 4 gears to match or the bottom 2.

All good now.

Don't be telling everyone all my secrets now. :P
Long past that being a secret.:P

Double you tee eff dude.....

My current setup has like -0.45 rear toe. How do I go from tighter than everyone else at Laguna to looser here?

I'll post a setup nobody wants to drive later.

That's the weird thing. I usually go with that amount of rear toe, but with this track/car combo, I can't drive it like that, at least, not without seeing the right rear going red.

Correct if I'm wrong but doesn't Laguna have less pitch on most of the turns than Deep Forest?

I've been using your tune so far every race with minor changes that may or may not help on account of my skill level just not being high enough to take full advantage. Mostly just toe and camber adjustments.

As far as I'm concerned, Laguna Seca is the loosest track in the game, tbh.

I only ran a dirty 11.1, I assume I'll catch some high 10's, but the only place this is oversteering is turn 4/5 (not sure) the right hander after the cobbles we aren't cutting.

That corner alone made me remove the rear toe. That and the long left after the last tunnel.

Then again, I found out today my wheel feedback was at 10. I usually have it between 2 and 5. :dunce:

Would softening spring rates increase contact patch and thus improve tire wear? Be nice if the TLI would show where on the tire the contact patch is. I would think if the patch was more on the inside your suspension is to stiff and if outside to soft. At least if the camber remains constant anyway. Problem I see with this is, doesn't tire camber change as the shock compresses and extends (possibly not within the capabilities of the game physics)? When it was even across the tire I would say just right. Perhaps my reasoning here is incorrect?

Think I'm getting a headache now. Better go do what Mule says. Less thinking, more driving.

I'm still wearing the fronts more though. :indiff:

I lean on the right front pretty hard in 1,9,10 and 13 so that gives up on me first. Rears are no trouble at all, only place I do any damage to them is screaming through 15 @ 130+ will occasionally get a bit smokey.

Tsukuba was eating my left front ;)

I'm slower with a looser wheel. Huh.

Never mind. I now realize that the last sector's where I can go up or down .3 seconds. Current setup with a best time of 1:10.713 with feedback at 5 -

That has been annoying me all week :ill: I'm just not very good at hitting that right.

I have come down with something over the weekend, I may not be feeling up to this. I should be racing if everything stays the same.

I got it almost even. Still lose the rears first, though. :grumpy:

You need every bit of track for those corners. Cue tunnel wall tap and clipping the grass.

I'm up to this. My connection, on the other hand... 👎

My rear tires are the first to go, then quickly followed by my fronts. I'm wondering if a 3 stop race could work (10, 20, 30). My lap times jump the shark after lap 11 if I really push for the first 6 laps.

Something tells me you can make 13 laps a set. ;)
20 is the big question.

I "can" do around 16 maybe 16.5 if I'm wondering it's just that the laps times are in the 15s at the end. It's may be faster to pit often.

Time a pit stop.
Note the lap times on 11,12, & 13. Add the extra time those laps take over lap 10 together, and multiply by 3.

Most likely the 9 slower laps will take less time than 1 pit stop.

I can safely go 15. Any more and I'll probably crash the car because the rears are pretty much gone.

That is a possibility, the pit lane is really quick at DF

I'm not a fan of clipping the grass and spinning into the pits :(

Hahahahaha haven't done that in a bit. Thankfully. Watch come race today I'll make that move on fresh tires. ;)

I've got a pretty nasty kink in my neck right now. Loading up on pain meds so hopefully I can endure the race. Surely once I get to steering and in the zone all pain will diminish. ;)

It's fast, but I'm not a fan of the entry.

eh, you have to take a little off on the final corner to cut down to the entry but I've gone into it at over 100mph without penalty. Problem with a 3 stop is the pressure of not messing up while your pushing like mad to stay under 1:12 your whole stint.

looking at Rich and Dom's tunes... have you guys sampled the draft?
I was running 2.5/1.5 and that's great in clean air but the car was buttery slick and dangerous from turns 4-13 any time I got near a car's draft in sprint practices.
So you've been warned. ;)

Dom and I don't intend on being in the draft, if you know what I mean. ;)
