What track for round 5?

I haven't spent time tuning this car yet (bad idea, the car is undrivable).
I think I will do a tuning session with this car instead of racing.

I had a good tune, provides by Owens, but the track and the car were just too much for me. If I practiced a little more I probably could have done better and kept it on the track, but oh well.

Hosting races is getting really frustrating now. :/

I do need to reedeem myself for last week.

Then again, I'm not feeling good about getting the whole race in without a DC.

well done, you get the flag-to-flag this week.
after my dust up with Veloci my head was out of it and I spent my 2nd stint over-driving the car and sliding around in owen's draft... got him on a pit shuffle and did a nice push to gap him before cruising to the line in stint 3 to get 6th.
Really wanted a stronger finish here as I was expecting to need my drop at Le Sarthe... least I'm really strong at nurF and Motegi; and I didn't lose too much ground with CSL finishing 1 spot up the road.

I need to work on that "race car drivers need a short memory" thing... on to next week.

Mule sorry about going into settings. I had trouble finding my pace today and was blaming tune. When I should of left it alone and worried about driver tune.

I had to earn my win today.

I kept nailing S1, and S2, only to go wide continually on that long left. It was getting quite annoying. When Mule gave the one-minute warning, I had fresh rubber, and my best times usually came on Lap 3, so I was in big trouble. Amazingly, I pulled out my fastest lap out of nowhere, earning me pole, and that sweet, clean air.

Start was excellent, with nary a challenge at T1. However, I was too tentative on my first two laps, which meant 2nd, Husq, was only a second behind. My pace wasn't where I wanted it to be, but the tires were happy with it, which allowed me to pull away to around 3 seconds. I stretched out my first run pretty far, which allowed Travis to take 2nd. He was coming fast, but then the gap began growing again.

Soon, I was just running consistent laps when around Lap 18-20, exiting the last corner, I spun the moment I touched the rumble strips. I'm not sure what happened since I had been touching them every other lap with no problem. Must have had a wee too much steering angle, or something. I slid sideways, hitting the inside wall, but fortune was on my side. Instead of going all the way around, my car ended up pointing forwards, which allowed me to keep going. I still lost about 2-3 positions and Dom was trying to draft me. At that point, I had to push a little bit. That was a struggle given I was about 3-5 seconds behind 1st and the slide eliminated my wear advantage. Yet I got to within a second when I decided that an early pit stop may allow me to jump them.

It worked great. Not only did I get ahead, I managed to get around Jeff, who was still out on track, at S1 where 2nd/3rd got held up, adding to my lead. From there, I tried controlling the race pace, but Husq was chewing away at the gap. With around 5 laps to go, I only had around a second between us when something must have happened since the gap went to 6 seconds. Good thing too because the car was really dicey the last two laps. I babied it to the line, where I waved at my crew for a good job.

Overall, I got lucky with this victory, but I'll take it anyways.

Yeah, Steve should get the results up soon this week... the score board is going to be shaken and stirred a bit. I think Travis will take the points lead but the top 5 will be pretty tight.

Lots of pressure for nurF where Rich is a bloody robot. :scared:

I'll try to get the results up on the site tomorrow. Right now I've got a bigger issue.

My wheel's off center already :(

Just looked over the replay.

At least four, including myself, spun at the same spot. It's scary how they look alike.

May post vids later. 👍

That was a great race, just wish I was feeling better and was hitting 10s again (did a 10.6 during the race chasing Outlaw  )
Changed my schedule so I can make the race I think. As long as they don't go to late.

might want to at least change the title to "outlaw escapes the forest" or something... I don't belong up there anymore. ;)

Alright, called Logitech today. Should be getting a pre-paid shipping slip tomorrow and the wheel should be on its way to Arizona. So I'll be wheeless for at least this weekend. Haven't used the DS3 in ages, so I may sit this one out and just host if I can't get up to speed with it.

That's just terrible it's broken already.:yuck:
Good luck with the DS3, I know I couldn't do it anymore.

That's a nice rig. 👍

...and now, for the Deep Forest last corner spin-out competition. I fail to medal as I just slid into the wall.

Thanks!

Love the video. Other then the fact I didn't wreck and still couldn't hang. :(

Going to open a room or join an existing one sometime tonight. Probably in about 2ish hours.

I'll keep an eye out. Just did a quick ten minute session. All I did was change the gears and tweaked the toe. 1:57.330's my PB, but as always, struggling with the two corners after the Schumacher S.

I'm coming on now, opening a room after posting this.
No tuning done for me yet, soon.

Don't know why we post these, it's still easier to follow someone or search the rooms I think.

Enjoying the Deep Forest setup I ran also.

The only time I turn on my PS3 is if someone posts a room number, or race day. Hopping in right now. 👍

If the room is still up when I get done paying my bills I'll join. If the wife doesn't beat me to the tv anyway. If not I reckon I'll do the GTA car seasonals.

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

WTF is up with my internet?

Alright. Now I'm startin' ta get annoyed.

Internet appears to have stayed up the PS3 lost its IP address.

Good attendance tonight. Too bad my PSN was flaky.

I somehow ran a 1:56.888, but I couldn't replicate it. Think it was because I nailed the T11 exit (see below).

I can pull off a 57.2-.4 pretty easily, but in the race, I struggle getting there.

I had one of those too... but I caught it before I hit the wall.

To be eligible for the "Deep Forest Spinning Top Showdown"
  • You must complete a full 360 on the axis of your choice.
  • It must be done solo, in "Race Mode", and the replay must be submitted in 36 hours after the race.
  • You must have lost at least 1 position as a result of your spin.
  • Race winners are not eligible.

Sorry I jumped out last night, I was getting tired. Can't get close to a 56 anything and very high 57s are the best I could even touch.
