Forgot about the info sheet.

Room opens at it's normal time as usual. Although I might be a few minutes late, but nobody shows up on time anyway so won't be a big deal.

Apologies for being a no show this week, would've given warning, but things were hectic right up until this afternoon.

Looks like there was a really small field for D1 this week... What happened?

RT there should of been a caution first lap because lag caused two cars to be heavily damaged. By the way I just saw the replay Car and you are the one that lagged, wtf why you tell me I lag for?
Although it could just be my replay so I guess someone else should be the mediator.

On my screen you were lagging, stopped dead right in front of me.

I would think that should have had a caution, not that it would have changed my finish much.

Division 1 points and results are updated. (accessible in OP as usual)

nice tight battle for the points lead. :)

Edit: Regarding the first lap incident, I didn't see it. All cars were going the right direction on my map, so I did not know something had happened.

You lagged on my replay.

TBH watching the replay I'm pretty surprised there wasn't one after that T1 mess on lap 3. I wan't wii's car... that Canadian steel is something else. Everyone around you took damage and managed to bonk you everywhere but miraculously you made it through with 4 working wheels.

Nice job with 4th btw. I never knew you were lurking so close throughout the race. I had such tunnel vision for the war I was fighting with cicua. 👍

Report: P2 for Royal Purple!

Whoo hoo! Gotta watch out for Buffalo, we like being underdogs that play up to their competition at the end of a sports season. Time to climb the table and make the playoffs! :D

I really like racing here in these type of cars, it's been my favorite in both previous seasons. Had a productive practice session with Rich early in the week. His s1 time was bonkers faster than mine while I kept tuning the car to find pace I kept losing pace at the end of the track. But eventually after Dom arrived I channeled my frustration into rage and started "driving angry" which busted down the 2:10 wall I'd been beating my head against. Did some nice practice sprints and got my pb down to 2'08.888; watched Dom drop a nice bomb on the board and wrestled the car round in good time to put me on his heels.

I noticed today after gt4 that cicua had jumped us both filling the chasm between pole and p2. N1 👍
No Dom again :( so I got to start in podium position. No connection issues and the race got off nicely.

I'm apparently the only one that practiced their burnout because I dropped a nice 6k rpm #11 on the road (it looks great in the replay) jumping cicua so much that he apparently was shocked to be crossing the road into a car. ;) I got out of T1 in p2 and started the official mission "hold onto adam's draft to get separation to the field".

The mission was going so swimmingly that due to adam's wheel troubles I was able to pretend I could take the lead for a few laps. :sly: Though just like Indy, once the tires warmed up, bum wheel or not, #1 started pulling .5 per lap. Then broke draft as the pace went down to 2'08.2 which was plenty to out class me.

I made a mistake exiting bit kurve and dragged the wheels through the dirt on lap6-ish which cost me big to the tune of a 2:11. That closed any gap I had to cicua and the war was on.

We traded places a couple times with cicua getting the better of me. I followed until the pit window. We were close at the end of lap 13 and I said to myself that if he doesn't go in I am so I could try and jump position. He went in so I stayed out to the perfect middle of L14 pit.

I came out of the pits with cicua having a pretty healthy 5s gap. Worked up a sweat pushing as hard as I could but the gap was pretty much staying the same. We'd swap +/- 0.2 lap after lap until around 23 when my 1 lap younger tires were able to take some bigger bites.

Then cicua gave me a mistake by eating some dirt in schumacher. We had a great fight until the last two laps where I was able to hold onto P2.

Great race 👍

GL tomorrow Broman. Go Purple 👍

The race was good.

I went from 2nd to 3rd before turn 1, but this is just the price of having a long 1st gear that is useful for the rest of the race.

Followed on the bumper of Tnjf around the first race lap, but then threw a couple of wheels in the sand exiting last turn. Aderrrm and Tnjf were gone, and then Litchi and Wardez were upon me.

After a some laps Wardez' car seemed uncontrollable so we all slowed, don't know if it was just dirty tyres. Anyway I got past. I felt I had good pace, I put down a 2.08.4 pb early in the race and was losing minimally to Aderrrm in front. So I went to hunt down Tnjf over a good many laps. When I finally overtook him I could not pull away, too little difference in pace, and tyres were getting worn.

So I pitted one lap early and it worked wonders, I got a nice big gap and just did my own driving. Aderrrm was no less than 10 secs ahead at any time, but as the laps went on, 2nd place was secure.

Except a few laps short of finish, with tyres giving in, I sand-braked in schumacher exit. And there Tnjf was again. I fought, but this time I could not match his pace so he went with it :grumpy:

Next time I think something is home safe, I must hit myself on the head with something heavy!

Good race anyway :)

I hoped I could keep my top spot this week, and barely managed that! But I'd be more surprised if it is the same after next week ;)

It's drafty in Italy; Adam may stay in sight.

I got damage early on, which I why I was trying to let every one by, there was just too big a pack for me to try and defend in front of it.

But hey, I found footage of the style Aderrrm wins races:

Yeah I can't believe why we are going to run these slow cars on Monza, it's silly :D Will be fun anyway.

I am afraid Aderrrm only needs one Ascari to break the draft, but yeah maybe some of us humans can bump draft to make up for it.

I only saw your side of the story after I posted, great read

Wardez
Oh yeah and Aderrrm said he had a problem with his pedals sticking today and I happened upon this thread in the sim racing hardware section, check out the avatar on that guy:

I was having an issue with the gain control on my M&K sub recently. After doing research most people having my issues solved it by cleaning the potentiometer. They used a cleaner in can. So off to Radio Shack I went. Picked up a can. Came home. Pulled amp off and removed the pot. sprayed it with the cleaner and let it sit. Then worked it back and forth. Sprayed again. Worked some more. Cleaned it up and reinstalled it and amp. Fired it up and holy moly my sub is fixed!!!

This is the stuff I used. So I assume it work excellent on pedals. As well save ton of time.

Yeah, and that'll be contact cleaner like some other guy in that thread said right?

'cause there ain't be no Radioshacks in Britland.

Yeah, had an issue where I wasn't getting 100% throttle all the time. Cleaned the pot on the throttle and everything was golden again.

I'd assume it would work, however I am thinking you want that anti corrosive and penetration as well lube that is in the pot spray. Irony the lady working Radio Shack walked right to this stuff and said that it's potentiometer cleaner. I was impressed as I had never heard of a specific type of cleaner for pots.

Those contact cleaners can leave a surface very dry and if I am thinking correctly its basically electric motor cleaner. That is harsh stuff. Def requires oiling motors after use. As well it makes plastic brittle. RC racing experience.

hehe, I'm all for harsh cleaning on mine. I use pure alcohol. The club sports don't use contact pots. It's a magnetic throttle position sensor that uses EM induction so I don't want any debris or heavy fluids in the way. ;)

What kind of RC cars did you used to race? I had an associated 10th scale oval car(can't remember what the official name for it was) plus a 12th scale trinity car(believe that was it, we are talking 20 years ago) that we would race on a asphalt banked track(Radio Mania) and a carpet oval(trackside, which is still open) been thinking of getting back into it, it sure was a blast! Sorry for hijacking the post, I should be able to qualify tomorrow just before he deadline, hoping....
