And another pole race messed up. I love weather races as much as the next guy (or maybe not), but when it starts as soon as we get on track and doesn't stop it is sooooo frustrating. Either way, that wasn't the problem. Being glitched twice with having Intermediates instead of Wets was the real p***-take, especially seeing as after the third pitstop I managed to rope Joshua into just 12 seconds away (from 40, until the last lap where I magically span off at Eau Rouge).

"This is my lucky track". HA.

Well, that stunk. For me, anyway. Great job, Josh. Winning a race in this series is extremely hard and you won with seconds to spare. Well done.

I had two set-ups made this week - one for rain and one for dry. I set up multiple test rooms to see what the odds are it would rain. Never rained. Ever. So I went with the dry set-up. I remember looking at Litchi's tune and thinking it would be great in the rain; that's what I based my rain set-up off of.

Long story short, my car handles like a dump truck on ice going downhill. The throttle is so touchy even 20% throttle would light up the rear tires.

Then I was going to pit on the first caution, but I didn't know if there were any special pit road laws of when you can pit in ratio to the leader. So I decided to not risk getting penalized and stayed out, then realized everyone pitted behind me.

Hope I don't get disqualified for this, but I badly (4 wayyy of) cut the track in 3 places, and cut it mildly multiple times. Though I gained time, I never gained position through it.

My main complaint was that I couldn't race anyone. I was just sort of sitting on track hoping someone crashed or went off.

Oh well. There goes my hope of a top four. Now I'm going to be lucky for fifth.

Now, if we can just hope that for some crazy reason, GT5 doesn't decide to add rain at Monaco.

Not sure why there was confusion on pit rules. Everyone seemed to get it back at Monza.

I haven't practiced in rain... at all. The one time it did, the surface water hovered in single digits. Better practice now.

Very hard race today just couldn't keep that damn miata on the track, ended up with alot of damage towards the end. I've not looked at all the replay but looks to me like a few people think it's ok to run way wide at la rouge and keep their foot down same with the long left hander in sector 2.
Also I was under the impression it was only Sport soft or Rain tires yet litchi is on inters, I clearly remember turbo saying before the race Rain tires are available if you need them nothing was said about inter's :grumpy:

Anybody know their lap times in the rain? Just curious on whether I need a different setup for 100% wet. 👍

Just for clarification's sake, is it, or is it not okay to start the race on wets?
My understand from last week when I hosted was we started on softs while inters were not allowed.

Awesome race for me and YMS.

Started off being took out by Schadenfreude which tbcf, I was pretty pissed seemed as it was the first corner, yet he gave me my position back and I continued with heavy damage as I knew a SC would be called as a two car incident had occurred. Around half way around the track, still no SC, so thats why I typed what I did. A SC had been called a few seconds later, i'm not sure if from my accident and RT had realised, or another accident had occurred.

I pitted starting lap 2 and threw rains on instantly. I noticed there was a little shamble with some of the front guys missing the pit or something, so we had an extra lap of a SC meaning I would have fresh tires, and be at the front, bingo!

We must of restarted around lap 3/4 or so, I had Green and a few others infront. To be honest, I barely remember much of this point as I was so focused on just gaining on Green and adding some pressure to him, which at this point, I think Litch was with me too. We got past Green after a few laps of staying behind and pulled ahead.

I thought Litch had rain tires on too, so at this point I was hoping we could work as a team and pull away, and get a 1-2 podium finish which would be brilliant for our driver/team standings. He pitted around lap 10 or so leaving me to take the lead.

I then pitted at lap 14, leaving me with fresh tires to run a 2nd 10 lap stint. I exited the pits infront of Biffy in 3rd place, and about 10 seconds behind Litch in 1st place. From then on, I knew he would have to pit so I drastically tried to keep my tires in a driveable condition. Around lap 18 or so, I caught and passed Litch, keeping my fingers crossed that he would stay in 2nd as I saw Pag and Wii gaining on him.

From then on I just tried to keep the Miata on the track and try and keep a bit of a distance between me and Pag.

And bingo, my first win in a FMSC series!

All in all, real fun race guys. Fingers crossed that this has pushed me up into the top 7 and hopefully a place at the championship weekend. 👍

think I was between 2'50- 2'55 but I think some may have being doing lower not sure tbh

Yea, I'm totally aware that's it's not allowed to start with wet tires. But I've seen nowhere that use inter during the race isn't allowed. For me, which is not prohibited is allowed.

@Outlaw: My PB tonight was a 2.45.7 i think

So that was D2? That's what went wrong.
We were in the wrong room, in the D1 room it wasn't raining 👍

Already fixed. ;)

It was not actually. I didn't say anything for you because it would have thrown the grid order off and we would have had to re-do everything.

This. I will have to watch the replay and make a decision. I know Biffy had issues with the game not cooperating. I don't remember Litchi being on Inters.

Yeah for that 3-4 laps I must not have been watching you. I'm pretty sure the discussion from last week was that they were not allowed. I shall go in search of said conversation...

Entire conversation from last week below:

👍
This is my understanding:

For qualifying: Either rain tires
For race: Must start on Sports Soft. Can pit for either Rain tires at your convenience.

Please note that the pit rule still applies. (one stop required on Lap 6-19)

We've never mentioned those before because SS are inters. Based on all the discussions of this week there should be only 2 tires. SS and RR; we start the race on sports and if it gets too wet you can pit for rains. Inters should be just as off-limits as the race hards that we have to open up in the specs to get access to rains.

Yes, but RAIN tyres refers to either 'Racing: Intermediates' OR 'Racing: Wets'

It shouldn't.
Not sure if Jason intended to approve Intermediates for the race. I'm sure he'll clarify that before the D1 race tomorrow.

In the meantime, with the qualifying conditions, it's better using Racing Rain tires anyways.

Sorry guys missed the "either" part of that post.

Racing rains or sport soft only.

ok, so i should be DQ'd. no problem.

But...why inter's are not allowed? Any logic explication to this?

For me, use inter's when floor is around 40-50% wet is just..logic, this is why i used them.

I don't know for sure, but my guess is to keep it simpler and less of a guessing game as to which tire is better.

IIRC I was doing 2'46-49 with a VERY dry setup.

That was for Monza.

The rules are not track specific. Weather race is a weather race.

No DQ necessary, but a time penalty may be incoming. Will have to converse with Wardez and Denilson about it. A decision may not be posted until Monday or Tuesday.

Also, I was going to save this until I posted the thread but if anyone is interested I will be running another Miata series on Sunday nights at 9pm EDT after this season is over. Cars are limited to 200hp, 800kg and minimum downforce on Sport Medium tires. It will feature two short races, the first is 20 minutes and the second is 15 minutes. The second race will have a half inverted field. No pit stops, just all racing. 👍

Ok, no prob, i understand.

But i still don't understand why inter's are not allowed, sorry...

Sorry, just haven't had time for racing lately, really hoping to have a go at Monaco though.

Oh yes, you know I'll be putting in LOTS of time into Monaco, you can count on it.

Well my internet problem's fixed, sorry to hear so many had a bad race, guess I lucked out? :P

The problem ended up being that after yesterday's power outtages my line became a lot stronger and was pumping too much signal into my modem for some reason, so the guy set up some splitters to reduce the signal to a more workable level and so now I'm good. I'm just glad it wasn't the modem or router itself.

Only positive thing was that the guy who came out to fix it was a British dude from Bristol. He saw my wheel and asked, "Ah, you into racing, what kind?" and we chatted for a good bit. I guess he used to race "T Cars" he told me. And Alfa Zagatos, and go karts. Told me all kinds of stuff about racing back in his day (looked to be around 35). Cool stuff.

Anyway, sorry to the guys who wanted to pitch in with my little trailer project. Would any of you still want to meet up tomorrow or sometime during the week to shoot? Let me know in PM's 👍
