How do I go about qualifing for this weekend's race. I have been searching in the threads and looking everyday but can't seem to see when its being held
All you have to do is post in the thread asking if a steward is available to observe your qualifying run.

*EDIT*
Sorry if this has already been answered, but if we are not using a pace car for cautions, thus only 1 spot needs to be reserved for a steward, will the races be opened to 15 participants, or are we still keeping it at 14 to minimize the possibility of lag issues.

Grid size will stay at 14.

When you are ready, just post here that you would like a race steward to watch you qualify.

Deadline to run times is Saturday at 1pm EST.

Well I was going to jump in your room and practice but nevermind.

dead

Get in there.

Can any of you DFGT users out there, especially those using Wardez's tune (or a slightly modified version of it), post or PM me your wheel settings? Please include both the ones under wheel options and controller steering sensitivity in the Driving Options menu since from what I understand both have an effect. I noticed today I was entering corners slower than just about everyone else in the field, even though I was on a similar driving line. Trying to get to the bottom of why.

Reposting this. I'm new to using a wheel, so I could use some feedback.

I have power assist off and am currently using a strength of five but with the revised ff of the 2.04 patch I might bump that up a point or two.

As for the steering sensitivity, I have never messed with it because I didn't know it affected steering wheels users. Are you positive it has an effect on both ds3 and wheel users?

For some reason, the more I bump up the feedback, the slower the car turns. It could be my noddle arms, my haphazard mounting solution, or something's busted inside my DFPro. Mine's at 2 with power assist off.

I don't think steering sensitivity has an effect, but I lowered it just in case.

does power assist effect DFGT? I thought that wasn't an option for it

An FYI, lap times are down to the 2:11.9xx mark. I'm in the high 2:12s, with T2, T9, and Spoon driving me crazy. Every day, I'm liking this Miata even less.

Yeah I said that without even looking.

Funny thing is, I checked the CNN weather center and it said mostly cloudy on Saturday, but I went back and checked it again and now it's fine.

Predicting the weather's one job where you're allowed to screw up and not get fired.

Yeah, when we set live weather for Spa in JGTS it was 60% chance of precipitation. The only thing that was hard to decide was how much surface water we should've started the race at since it was nearly impossible to get rain/snowfall in cm's or inches.

So we just went by how long it had been raining that day and set it to about 20% in D1 I think.
But anyhow, with a low changeability and 60% weather it continually kept raining and the race was 100% wet for most of the event.

Are there any tunes for Suzuka yet? When I click the "Tunes" link for Suzuka in the schedule section, it just takes me to the beginning of the thread.

I don't know the first thing about tuning, but how much do guys change tunes from race to race? I would assume that gear ratios will be tailored to each track, but do the suspension and LSD settings change much from track to track?

I noticed the tuning sheet doesn't have the brake balance numbers. It would also be interesting to see what ABS settings people are running.

I'll fix the links here shortly. The tuning sheet does have a spot for brake balance. (top right, second option down) I would assume everyone was using ABS-1.

As far as tuning, wish I could help but I don't know squat.

Edit: Links fixed.

Whoops, didn't see that there. My laptop doesn't show your pictures, so I was looking at it on my phone. I thought I read somewhere that ABS-10 behaves differently than ABS-1, but not necessarily slower, depending on the setup of the car and the driver's ability and style. I also seem to remember a WRS D1 driver posting that he uses ABS-10, but I could be mistaken.

Hey RT,

Not sure if I'm qualifying or racing at all this weekend. I'll let you know. I may not qualify, but race. Not sure if Im allowed to do that.

All explained in the OP. If there's an open spot, you start at the back. If there's no open spots, well then you miss out. :P
