... And macmx503 didn't race.

I like your enthusiasm and I am glad you want to race so keep coming to the practice rooms and you will improve. Watch other people's laps and see where you are losing time, where you are going too slow, etc. Monday is a holiday so I don't have to work so I will probably be on GT5 practicing at Tokyo and would be more than willing to coach you. 👍

OK, I will practice there

Brosif. I would like in in that session. Surely something to be learned. ;) look for your room.

Good racing today as usual guys. The caution periods made things extra interesting, although the restart on the first one was a disaster  My car felt fantastic today. It handled pretty much perfectly for my tastes, and as it turns out was great on tires as well. The only time things went wrong was on the second last lap, where I clipped the grass a bit in the esses. This caused me to lose about a second or so from cicua. By the time I had reeled him back in it was too late :indiff: Anyways I can't be disappointed with second, but I had a good chance of winning and I spoiled it for myself. All well.

Tokyo next week should be interesting. I've never had a "competitive" race on the track before, so it will be a whole new experience :)

I went overboard taking pictures from the race. Prepare for picture dump within the hour. :P
Looking forward to seeing some pictures of the pit mayhem during the second safety car :dopey:

Quick note to drivers for tomorrow: Pace car speed has increased to 60mph / 96kph. Also, there was some confusion during the D1 race today about where you should be after coming out of the pits during a caution. If all cars pit, where you come out is your new position, just like in real racing. If you moved up a spot, then congratulations for having a fast pit crew. :D

Gotcha!

Under perfect conditions, is this a 2 stop or 1 stop race? What you guys think?

Easy 1 stopper. Although tires are pretty bad toward the end of each stint.

Heads up everyone!

Qualifying deadline on Saturday has been changed to 12pm EST / 5PM GMT

Please be aware of this in the future!

What were the mid 12, 11 guys running on bad tires, do you remember?
Ok if you don't, just trying to gain some info since I couldn't watch it.

great photos RT, the 5th photo (me drifting) was the incident that brought out the 1st caution period hehe.

great fun last night guys loved it.

end times on bad tyres were roughly around 2:15s and 16s I think (my memory is getting worse)

I just had a bad qualifying session, so we were running 15s towards the end of a stint yeah. High 14s if you're good.

Yeah, I hadn't got any practice really. And I ran my qualifier as my friend was watching and egging me on... didn't exactly make for ideal conditions lol, but I knew I could still have a good race if I did half-way decently in Round 1 quali.

Watch out for me in Tokyo ;)
One of my favorites.

You were really not forced to share this one Jason... lol.

I don't understand what happened yesterday, I had a frame rate glitch during all the race. Really hard to drive in these conditions. Finally preferred to go in the pits and wait. The "safety car system" is awesome!. I love it ;)

I'm curious what kind of tire life people are seeing? I feel like I'm using them up rather heavily, things start getting rough after 10 laps or so...

Suzuka is one of the hardest tracks on tires. There was about a 2-3s difference in lap times between the begging and end of stints yesterday.

Tokyo Practice Room for D1 people is coming soon

Not all the stewards race in that series. Times can be taken while those of us that are in it are busy.

I'm more concerned about those of us in the GT4 race who'll still have to qualify. Personally, I'm not comfortable staying up late after work, qualify for both series, then go to bed and only get a few hours of sleep before I have toget up early for the race. I was tired pretty much all day yesterday because of it.

I know the obvious answer is to qualify earlier in the week, but someone like me needs all the practice I can get to even attempt to keep up with everyone.

It's probably just me, and in that case I'll just have to deal with it, but personally, I'd sooner see you extend the deadline an hour rather than contract it an hour.

I have some things to take care of before the race, so this is just a reminder post for all D2 drivers so that nobody forgets.

See everyone in a few hours!
