Tuning allowed or prohibited?

Alright, sounds like we're good to go. Was worried the off week might have an effect on attendance.

I'll be there... just finishing up watching the Monaco GP I recorded earlier.

I'll have Dale Jr, Steve and TJ in my ear, Fox coverage on my stereo and GT5 on the TV. This is going to be fun..lol

Can I buy chassis reinforcement and get the car on the track?

Maybe I should just quit GT5 altogether. Getting way too stressful at a time in my life when I don't need any more stress.

But then again, it's not like I actually have a life outside of GT5.

Apologies to nateral for spinning him after he almost ran me into the grass. I parked myself after that. :/

This series has been really fun. I'm getting a chance to really battle with some guys and I don't care if it's for 5th or 15th, battling on the track is so much fun. Had an awsome battle with Dragon tonight. Looking forward to next week.

Good racing again.
Had a great battle with Tim in race 2, crazy T1 on the last lap let Bdubclub slip by for 4th.
Great race even still.
Now, quick question for tonight's aliens: Is why can you all kill my T1 time? When I did a fluke 23.3 I hit T1 oddly better than normal, I don't think I was off line that much, just felt like I couldn't get the car to settle.

As Jay said, really great battle in every race.

Waits for Jason or Twissy to answer.

Nice racing tonight guys, happy with my finishes :) See you next week at London..

Okay, even as a lowly human, I suppose I can offer what I experienced. :)

Not sure if the exit to the last corner has any bearing on the S1 time. I know Twissy destroyed me there during the 2nd race as I hit it well enough to hit a PB, and he went by as though I was standing still. For T1, for some reason, I liked drifting inwards from my entry point. Probably something I'm accustomed to since GT1, of all things, as I did a license test that way.

The two corners before the first tunnel is where I believe is where most time is gained or lost. If your car isn't settled properly there, then you'll lose a lot of time. What I did is on the right-hander, I eased off the throttle ever so slightly, so I can line up the car properly on the right. Then, I eased off the throttle and applied a tad of brake for the left, using all the track I could without being dirty. Ideally, you want gentle steering inputs through here, as that will keep your speed up. I turn in early for the right hander with some brake, and I can keep the car around 60+ mph while in 3rd gear while doing so. Essentially, the less turning you have to do for the left hander means a better exit off the right hander into the tunnel.

Your fastest laps were far better than mine, you answer. :P

I just let the car settle in 3rd gear for T1 then drive it out. Flat out until the concrete section then down to 3rd. Got to feather the throttle going into the tunnel or you'll spin, as some of you saw me find out in the first race. :ouch:

Anywho...results incoming.

I'd like to know how Super Alien Twissy is always .500 ~1.000 faster than everyone else.

I just did. :sly:

Hmm, I used 2nd at T1, but only briefly, mainly so I can power through the exit without any issues. I ended up understeering there at the end of my first stint.

Spinning out at the tunnel was a problem for me when I first started practicing, but I got that out of my system. Seems like staying on throttle avoids snap oversteer.

That's like figuring out how Adam's always .500 ~1.000 faster than everyone else. :ill:

I will say that the ABS @ 10 may be part of it. I'm not sure, just baseless speculation from my end.

I would have to agree Jay. Race 2 was so much fun. Usually I'm running by myself trying not to make so many mistakes I get lapped. That battle with you was the most fun I've had so far. Huge confidence boost to know I can at least run with one of you aliens.

Watching the replays now. May post more comments later.

It's later.

From my perspective, I would have to classify that battle, for what would ultimately be 11th place in the second race and took 6 laps, to be epic. I know, that adjective is much overused these days, but I did qualify it's use. I had a couple of nice passes that I couldn't make stick all the way through the last turn (the aliens carry 108MPH through that turn, the super aliens carry 111-112). My best through that one is 107 I think. The bump draft Jay set up on lap seven was perfect. The pass I managed on lap 8 going up to the last tunnel was nice but it left me in a bad position in the last turn, again. I never did get another good run at Jay to challenge the position. Either way, it was one helluva fun race.

Mule, I apologize for the tap in the last turn in the early lap, I misjudged the draft a bit. It kinda sucked more for me in that it slowed me enough for Jay to go flying by in the grass. That little boxing match you had with Nat in T1 was fun to watch and not get gathered up in.

Thank, I'm going to be watching the repays tomorrow, see if I can find what I did wrong.

I know that Twissy was beating me the most in the two corners before the long tunnel and exiting the last corner. I tried finding more speed there after he passed me during the 2nd race, only to almost lose it in both places.
The one random I kicked from the room tonight sent me a "🤬 you!" message.

Oy.
The day we can set up private rooms... but that's probably asking for too much.

To be honest that bump draft started as an accidental bump, I almost backed off because I got into you but then I was like hey maybe I can set something up here

I was wondering why I flew by you so fast I thought it was because I didn't let off when I hit the grass. Another instance where I almost backed off, glad I didn't now.

That dust up between Mule and Nat was pretty crazy. I was just like, "thanks for the spot guys" and drove right through.

I would have to agree the battle was epic and probably the most fun I've had in a race on GT5 ever.

Great racing last night guys, beyond happy with the turnout.

Let's do it again this weekend at London Reverse! 👍

Nice and clean from what I saw, my favourite race in this series so far. Looking forward to London.

with no CALM race I may be able to put in some practice finally... rather than going the full Wardez

Ya, sorry I bumped you a bit, but it was completely unintentional and I think you can see that on the replay. If you hadn't been trying to retaliate though, you probably would've passed me in a couple of turns because you were faster than me. Otherwise, I thought we were having a good, clean competition.

I'm looking forward to this weekend's event as I feel I've made some good progress in my driving and had a chance to not finish last in the second race. ;)
