PURE | GATE 2 - GT300 - Season winners - tony1311 and Team Wedssport

I'm going to have to withdraw from the last race :(. I have the flu and am unable to concentrate for long as well as being very tired all the time.

Sorry to hear that Jon, hope to see you soon in the WRS and PURE events ;)
on an other side, happy to hear that cause i'm now in D1 :)

Sorry to be a letdown :( lol

hey now... no let down. You're in a great spot to buffer any disconnects or catastrophic crashes. Since 1st in D2 beats the bottom 2 in D1. :)

1 hour until the grids are locked.
If anyone wishes to be added to the grid or anyone who is on the list and can't make it, please tell us in the next hour.
Thanks

I have a bit of a problem (I think).

I need to use a different TV tonight. Before I've been using an old plasma TV, only HD ready, using the HDMI as input. Tonight I need to use a different TV, full HD. same HDMI input.

Just did a couple opf laps, and there seems to be a slight delay from my input to the PS3. It's most noticable when doing fast downshifts going from 6th to 1/2nd gear, when that I do with the paddles vs the sound is not fully syncronized. It's like (me thinking) the PS3 gets a bit overloaded when displaying in full HD and struggle to keep up.

I have all display settings set to Auto. I'm thinking a good idea would be to force the PS3 to display in a lesser resolution, but I'm not sure how to do it.

Any ideas.

When you gonna drum up a new series. May I suggest the NSX RM. I'm ready to run in a Müle RM series again. Miss those Camaro's. maybe we can do Corvettes or the Challenger TC. Just tossing ideas.
I'm ready for something faster, but with less grip.

If the tv is a LCD you might want to try the game mode setting (if it has one).

you must have been running 1080i before.
when you set the display settings you get the option on HDMI of auto or manual. Just goto manual and check only the 1080i box.
I have to do that to get 720p when I'm running through the capture box; it's quite straight forward.

I changed the resoluton to 720. There wa also two sound options, and I picked the one wihtout Dolby, etc, and I think this might have done the trick.

Now its only in my head, looking and listening for delays. The mind is powerful though.

Thanks for all the help. I should be finw now.

≡Track Notes ≡

Track boundaries for all races in GATE 2 are universally defined as follows:
The white lines along the edge of the track are considered to be the track boundaries. These lines continue onto the rumble strips at each corner. At no point should there be no more than two wheels over those lines/rumble strips. two tires must remain in contact with the track at all times. The preceding defines the "track." hard surfaces beyond white lines and curbing/rumble strips such as concrete, "greencrete", or turf and other run off is not considered to be track. White lines, curbing/rumble strips are track and even if you only have two tires on their very edges (to be reviewed and confirmed by as steward) it will be considered clean.

This rule is, of course, also pertinent to both regular season qualifying and the group qualifying to be held especially for the pre-season event.

≡Track Specific ≡

Race Start: The start Line that we will use is located after T1, under the "TOTAL" sign. So you can all take it easy thru T1 and sort yourself on the straight leading down to Eau Rouge.

Pit Entry: Prior the pit entrance, there's a tight right/left s turn. When going in to the pits, make sure to stay close to the grass on your right side for optimal angle in to the pit lane. DO NOT use any barriers or walls as a guide or to gain time/speed.

Pit Exit: Make sure to respect the white pit exit lines. You can cross them, but only if you're 100% sure that the track is clear.
As always, if an incident occurs as a result from a driver crossing the line (Either the one on track, or the one exiting the pits), it is the driver that crossed the line who is at fault

≡Running Wide ≡

There's a few spots to be extra careful at.
  1. Turns 3/4/5, Eau Rouge, keep 2 wheels on or inside the rumble strips at all times. Where the rumble strips end, keep 2 wheels on or inside the white line.
  2. Turn 12, Pouhon, going wide here gains you quite some time. Make sure you stay inside the track limits.
  3. Turn 17, Blanchimont, as above.
  4. Turns 19/20, Chicane, be sure to keep 2 wheels on the rumble strips/track on entry and exit of the chicane.
≡Fuel ≡

The in-game fuel calculator doesn't function correctly. You must do a test run of approx half distance and calculate your own fuel usage. If you follow the guidelines set by the game, you will run out of fuel

A guide to rolling starts by Dr_Watson

A staggered double-file line is used for our rolling start for the first lap after which the race will begin at the start/ finish line.
oQpyV.png
( First time pole sitters will be contacted for confirmation of the following regulations)
  • Pole sitter will begin on the left side of the track.
  • Even number position qualifiers will be on the right side lane of the formation. Odd number qualifiers will be in the pole sitters lane on the left side.
  • Once the GT5 race countdown has completed and the race event has begun all drivers must hold position and wait for confirmation from the host to proceed. Use your handbrakes, sit silently, report any suspicious latency between cars or lag jolting/skipping. After the host has given the go ahead all drivers will begin to slowly form up in qualifying order. The leader must act as gatherer, they must not pre-maturely advance from the group, it is their job to keep the pace slow enough until all cars are in position then proceed to formation speed.
  • Even pace at 100 kmh / 62 mph,
  • The pole leader must wait for the grid to line up behind them completely on the start straight before starting the race by applying full throttle at the start/finish line.
  • No weaving is allowed during formation lap.
  • You must not overlap the car ahead of you.
  • Do not pass any car until you're past the point the pole sitter started the race at.
  • Jump starters will be given warnings or penalties depending on severity.
  • If a driver is damaged on formation then the damaged driver must communicate this through text chat and continue at a reasonable speed to the pit area. The other cars will continue on as normal and the damaged car(s) can join the group as they come around for their first lap. At this point the formation lap will continue on for a second lap after which the race will begin. If it happens once more, the same contingency will be applied and a third formation lap will go on. After this, no more "formation restarts" will be acceptable and the affected drivers must either retire or start far behind the group. Drivers experiencing extreme lag will be asked to leave so the other drivers can race.
  • If, for any reason, a driver misses the formation start and stays behind still on the track the race will not go on, it must be restarted to eliminate the obstacle.

Great, so the one time I actually manage a pole, it's at Spa, where no less than 5 people will pass me into the first braking zone!

lol :nervous:

Well that was a short race :) did not expect a dive there but thats racing, then i putted a bit top much wheel on the astroturf when i saw eddie missed the corner after he overtook me so i dont think it was the damage.

Ugh. Forgot to take fuel after first pit stop. Ran out at la source on lap 22. Had good fun tho with Hugo Vaz we were side by side a lot that first stint. Great season I had a lot of fun, looking forward to my next PURE series

Race did feel short , dave pm me your email i can send you a photo of the end results and fast lap etc .

Looked like it was probably going to come down to me and iforce for 3rd, but I crashed on lap 22 :(

Then I forgot to take fuel on the early 2nd stop, so I ran out in the last lap :(

:(

Not a bad race for me I guess. Worked out a little better than I had thought it would after I came out from my 2nd stop in 10th place. I didn't like the way the car felt with 7-8 laps on the tires, no way I wanted to do 11-12 so I went for a 2 stopper. I think in the long run it worked out better for me, might have finished in the top 6 somewhere with a 1-stopper.

Thanks for the racing as usual. I know GT500 cars are being planned again but I won't be participating. Might as well take a break for a while after I finish the Miata series I am racing in. No offense to Tony but I won't be racing in any series he competes in from here on out. Would be nice to be in contention for a win every once in a while and with him racing it's just not possible unless he DC's.

👍

Very sorry guys, I had to stay an extra hour and a half in work and didn't even get chance to jump on gtplanet quickly it was that hectic. Completely gutted I missed Spa. Hope all went well.

Jeff's post earlier got me thinking about stuff, Jason. I might decide to run something soon.

I want to give a big shout out to all the Marshals, Steward and Administrators. I know it takes a lot of work to put something like this together and you need to know that it is very much appreciated. This was my first opportunity to race (if you can call it that) with such talented drivers and to a person I found you all (regardless of age) to be clean and fun to be around. I am looking forward to what comes next…Bob

The main reason i enjoy racing with PURE is the Organization , it makes everything a breeze .

The competition is great too .
