The Bimmer needs to drop 20 kg to go to stock weight, every one was pulling away from me during the twisty parts.

During qualifying the first sector was fine, the second I dropped a couple tenths, but the lead up to the finish of the lap I just got killed by a second. So 20kg drop and we'll see how it goes from there, other than that, not sure, gonna review the replay tomorrow for a while.

Strange to see that Room B finished the race in 60:02.20 and Room A 60:03.05.. It's a 45secs gap

Well, i drove the FTO and the specs of this car are definitely competitive. 👍

Not that I could tell.

The Lexus was slower than the FTO on the straightline, for instance. But to be completely honest, it was nothing impossible to overcome through drafting, or a late breaking, or just being a bit faster during the rest of the lap. Basically, while it didn't have as much top speed, the difference wasn't crazy.

I didn't spot anything too strong or too weak in our room.

Part of that difference is probably how the top guys in Room B pushed each other so hard. In the end, it meant we were racing really hard, not relaxing a single moment.

Slower formation lap ;)

Also, double Lexus winners 👍

Great racing, didn't think the 2-stopper would work but I managed to reign the top 3 (including Wii pulling away) from 22 seconds away in the last stint. Season is looking good!

Great stuff Biffy. Will we be double team mates? (CALM and GATE) :D

Loving your avatar, by the way.

From what I could tell, the '08 Subaru was a full second slower than my Lexus at this track.

But then I thought the Subaru was on par perfectly back when we still had it at 345HP.

You guys can do that and go for the team points. I plan to stick to the Lexus. Continuing my Lexus tradition from wsgtc. Never drove the sc430 before racing in the series. This is my first time rollin this Lexus as well. Felt good

That subi is no slouch in the in field either. I had a great back and forth battle with hellboy and then GV before that.

You may well be right, in wsgtc3 it wasn't strong enough. I thought we had it right at 340hp. Maybe try 345hp with a little extra weight, 20-30kg?

The Subaru was strong enough in our race. In fact it finished 3rd, and it didn't look any slower, really. The best Subaru qualifying lap was 1:54.4 I believe. And it wasn't bad on the tyres.

Well play for the race it was terrific.! My qualifying time was 1.54.700 this with my setup it was hard to beat.
In race one which I can embarrass it was the degradation of the front tires .. with the speed of the lexus it was hard to stay in contact (not you drive with Pirelli tires.?: p) the Subaru is really great to drive a car :)
All that to say that the championship will give it heavy.!

ps: I can assure with my google translation hahaha

Certainly looks like it, going to be a fun partnership.

And yeah, it's a nice picture, just getting into the spirit for CALM :D

Hi Nige!!

Nice to see you around.. 👍

Specs are not final yet as far as I know.. But it's not far from WSGTC 3 specs if that tells you something.. lol

They're gonna be final tonight Nige, good to see you!

But they're going to be quite close to the spec's posted a few pages back (orange header spreadsheet image).

Yes we're still starting this Saturday. PM reminders going out :)

Maybe I should start getting prepared for this series (and drive the Garaiya for the second time maybe ), but I think I might miss the first race because I'm taking part in a FIFA tournament in my friend's house. It's a shame because I really like Laguna Seca.

Good racing to those in room two. This is the first time I've done an entire race series on RH's and there is a little bit to learn about the way the tires wear. This practice race was an eye opener for that, as well as on the cars. I will likely not be in the car I originally thought I'd drive. I was over a second a lap slower in it compared to my new car of choice. I don't think that difference will hold up everywhere, but I assumed the car would do better at this type of track... and I was completely wrong.

Yeah, because of the last two sectors the track really hands it to the cars with swift handling over the straight line speed cars like the FTO and RX-7, which struggled.

How did you figure the R1's were wearing differently, just in how they lasted longer? How many stops did you do? Most of us I'm sure did just two stops.

Here's the final specifications for GATE:

Qualifying is open till deadline, which is 12 hours before green flag time, 7.00 UTC/ Midnight Friday US Pacific Daylight time.

You'll all be getting PM's with information on where qualifying results are being held.

Thanks Dennis and of course Eddie ;)

I'll probably only be able to sign up as a reserve but it would be nice to mix it up with you all once again after the fun I had in the GT500 series. Quite a few new drivers here too which is great.

See you on the track :)

Is the green flag time 20:00 GMT

If so I will try my best to get back from a day out with the miss.

I will do my qualifying and just hope that I can make it Saturday

Link in the OP with all the regulations has all the answers. But yes, 20.00 UTC.

I have noticed a slight problem with the specs.
The Subaru '08 is listed as 340hp, can we either increase to 345hp and add a little weight or decrease it to 335hp and maybe add a stage 3 turbo? There is no way we can check that it has 340hp. Every other car is cheat proof except this one.

I'm more concerned about the cars being equal rather than forcing the power to fit into the right bracket. It can be confirmed with a combination of PP, weight, and minimum power anyway so it's not a problem there either.

Although if it's equal at 345 then just say the word, but I feel like it's just a tad too much.

This is the same problem we had in wsgtc3. 335 too little and 345 too much. We will have to just trust that all our drivers are trustworthy enough not to try and cheat.

Yes, just look at our group man, rest easy  . By the end of JGTS we weren't even doing checks at all and having the most epic races of all (every one must've just cheated equally as much :))
