'cause I'm scared of crashing in a racecar, yeah, that's the only reason why I put up with online racing technical problems and don't for real :).

I'd much rather get out in a real race car then atleast I could explain when and why the car would fail unlike when the crappy internet fails for no reason :yuck:. I do hope/plan to try get out in SMRC Fiestas in the next few years :D.

I'm sure GTP_Pag agrees as in his day there was no online racing just the real thing :P.

You could still get injured playing gt5 I imagine. Think about it, I'd rather crash a race car doing 100mph than crash a street car doing 50mph. Drivers are well protected these days.... Some of the crashes drivers are able to walk away from are ones 20 years ago could've meant paying the ultimate price.

Now if you're afraid of racing around in a street car, that's completely logical and understandable. I should have that fear because going fast in a street car is what got me disabled.

Here's a good quote from Jeremy Clarkson:

"It's not speed that kills, it's the sudden deceleration that does."

Well signed in but nothing acts like it is. Wonder if MW3 is working online.

If you wanna sing in try America's Got Talent. Otherwise PSN doesn't listen!

I'm at 17 hrs 45 min of the La Sarthe 24 hr race in my other profile. I'll do that for a bit. Pandora going.
Weird, last I was on it , it started to rain at 17 hrs with 0 % track water for 46 min. Today I turn it on its at 100%. Ouch. I'm guessing itll stay that way.

Enjoy the weekend!

These are the only major sites with stories on the matter at this time. I hate having to post a link to Kotaku so in order to not give them views, please don't click on it but rather read its content in this thread. But I must link to basic etiquette.

Sony rumors story:

http://www.sonyrumors.net/2012/06/09/psa-playstation-store/

After attempting to access the PlayStation Store to download a free copy of LittleBigPlanet 2, thanks to this weeks PlayStation Plus update, I discovered that every attempt into the store would result in a crash with the following error message:

The service is currently undergoing maintenance.

I’ve since attempted to do some basic trouble shooting like PS3 reboots with no different results, indicating that its indeed on Sony’s side. When the question was posed to our Twitter followers, it seems that a great many are experiencing the same issue, even in EU territories, resulting in not a localized blackout but a worldwide issue for Sony.

We’ve already contacted Sony and we’ll update this post as we hear more.

Updates, after the jump.

Obviously I don't really believe I'm really the culprit.
I also feel as if I’m partially to blame for the stores cash, due to the amount of free content (nearly 50GB) that I’ve been downloading. This has resulted in my PS3 being left on during last 24 hours as it slowly grabs the content from Sony’s servers and just to be clear, my internet speed is 35MBps down so its not me.

Update:

It seems that the store is also down for users attempting to access the service from their PlayStation Vita.

It should also be noted that all your current downloads seem to be just fine while access to PSN itself is still live with friends list and online gaming.

Update:

We’re now getting reports that Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited are down as well. Other services like Hulu and Netflix seem to be working just fine.

Update:

It seems that online gaming has indeed been affected with users not being able to access online components of games like Uncharted 3 and Battlefield 3.

PSN Picked a Strange Weekend to Have an Outage
Good old Error 8071053D is back if you try to sign into PlayStation Network from your PlayStation 3. If you try to log in to a PlayStation web site, you get a page tells you the site is down for maintenance. These outages affect North American servers.

It doesn't appear to be regularly scheduled, as PSN underwent regular maintenance on May 24, and the weekend after E3 would be kind of a bad time for that. I'm reaching out to Sony Computer Entertainment America representatives for more info on why this is happening and how long it's expected.

I'm signed in and says you are too Wardez. LoL

I never signed out. Been grinding automatic B-spec races since I qualified last night and haven't stopped, can't stop, won't stop.

Official word from PS3 Twitter:

We are aware that some of you are having issues accessing PSN, and we're working to restore service to all. Thank you for your patience.

Back on PSN

Someone posted this on Facebook about an hour ago stating it was from the IGN Website, although I haven't found anything myself over there about PSN going down.

Before there are billions of threads made about how some cannot sign onto or do certain tasks on the PSN, here's the news:

The PSN will be down from 8:30am to 8:30pm Pacific time.
The Playstation Store will not be available, Avatar editor will also be under maintenance. Some will also find it difficult to sign onto the network.

@Biffy
Well that's inspirational news if I've ever seen some.
