Welcome to the PURE Lexus IS-F Championship, Season 2! As a very popular racing series that was run for the first time not long after Gran Turismo 5 was released, it's been quite a long break for the beloved IS-F RM, but now we're back and better than ever! This season will see the cars competing with a slightly lower power level to make the racing a little closer, along with a spec tire and the much anticipated disabling of the factory ABS systems.

Everything you need to know is posted below under each section banner. Please use the Thread Index below this paragraph to find the appropriate section you are looking for. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here in this thread and a race official can answer them to the best of their ability.

1. Race Officials

The people listed below are given rights to authorize rules and regulations in my absence, should they arise. If I am not around to answer a specific question, or cannot attend a race for personal reasons, drivers should contact any of them for answers. If I am absent for any reason, one of the officials listed below will host that weekends race or it will be postponed outright.
  • R1600Turbo
  • Litchi
  • Wardez
  • CSLACR
  • MULE_9242
2. Basic Rule Set

The following rule set is based on the GTPlanet OnLine Racing (OLR) Rules & Guidlines posted HERE. The following rules may have been modified for use in FMSC and will be strictly inforced:

  1. You are expected to compete in a fair and honest manner. With fair and honest is meant according to the these rules, and the GTP online racing rules, not according to your own interpretation of fair and honest.
  2. You are expected to drive responsibly in a way that’s not likely to ruin the racing enjoyment of your fellow drivers.
  3. You are expected not to submit to bad general behavior under all circumstances.
  4. The position of other drivers must always be respected.
  5. The white lines that run the length of each track are considered the track boundaries. This boundary extends in the corners to include the rumble strips.
  6. Each driver is expected to keep at least two (x2) tires within these boundaries at all times.
  7. Cutting the chicanes or "shorting" the track at any point is strictly prohibited on all parts of the track, including the asphalt-areas behind out-of track-lines. Taking shortcuts to make up time during a race will NOT be tolerated!
  8. No careless driving. Always show respect for your fellow racers. Be careful. Show some patience. Understand the limitations of your car and yourself and drive accordingly.
  9. Quitting the race and parking your car on the side of the race track is distracting to other drivers, and is strictly prohibited.
  10. If you are found guilty of any of these rules, the behavior will be evaluated and penalty assessed by the Race Steward(s).
  11. As a general rule, if there isn’t a stated rule, then the rules as they are within a program will apply - both intentional and coincidental. I.e. the way a matter is handled by a racing program is the way that it will be interpreted by the Race Official(s).
3. Event Participation

If for any reason you know prior to a race you’ll be unable to attend, please PM me as soon as possible. If you fail to advise me of your intention to be absent in sufficient time before the start of any two consecutive events, you run the risk of being excluded from future events.

Practice
Drivers are free to set up practice rooms for themselves and fellow competitors any day of the week. These rooms must be set up to the exact regulations set in the Rules & Regulations section above. Please make sure you have the drivers list accessible so that you know who should be present. If a random player loads into the room, please warn them first that they are in a private lobby and that they must leave. If they ignore this message and continue onto the track, you may then kick them from the room.

Every Saturday prior to that weekend's race, I will set up an official practice room that will be open for 1 hour. Qualifying runs will NOT be observed during this time, but can be run after the official practice session has ended. Short practice races are available during this time as well so that drivers can get a feel for the track under race conditions before the official event.

** Official Practice Rooms: Saturdays @ 8:00pm EDT | 1-Hour in Duration **

Qualifying
The qualifying format for this season will remain the week-long, 2 hot lap format used in several previous PURE series and events. For those that are new to this type of qualifying, here is the basic explanation:

Any time during the week when you are ready to qualify, please post in the thread that you need someone to watch your qualifying run and wait for a response. Once someone has agreed to watch you, a room can be set up to the official regulations posted above and set to a 4 lap race.

Qualifying Input Sheet is HERE

Qualifying deadline is 6:00PM EDT / 3:00PM PST Sundays

These laps are run as follows:
  1. Out lap / Warm up
  2. 1st hot lap
  3. 2nd hot lap
  4. Cool down / Exit
1) Out lap / Warm Up - Once the race has started, use the first lap to get the tires warmed up and find your line to make your run.

2) 1st hot lap - This lap will count as your qualifying time for Race 1.

3) 2nd hot lap - This lap will count as your qualifying time for Race 2.

4) Cool down / Exit - Use this lap to cool down and wait for the person watching your laps to post your times. Once your times have been posted in the message box, you are free to exit the track. Please DO NOT exit until told to do so.

Top 5 Shootout
Before the first race of each weekend, the top 5 qualifiers for that race will participate in the Top 5 Shootout. All 5 drivers will enter the track in free-run mode and remain parked on pit road. Each driver will enter the track one at a time when their name is called and complete 3 laps:

  1. Exit pit road / Warmup
  2. Hot Lap
  3. Cool down / Enter pit road
Each drivers hot lap time from this session will reset their previous qualifying effort and lock in their final grid position.

Race Day
Below is the schedule format for race day. Please make sure that you are in the room no later than 10 Minutes BEFORE Race 1 grid lineup. Drivers that arrive after grid lineup has started will forfeit their qualifying position and start at the rear of the field.

** All times in PM format, PST (Pacific Time) USA **
  • 5:15 to 5:45 - Top 5 Shootout
  • 5:50 to 6:00 - Race 1 Grid Lineup
  • 6:00 to 6:20 - Race 1
  • 6:20 to 6:30 - Mid-Race Break*
  • 6:30 to 6:40 - Race 2 Grid Lineup
  • 6:40 to 6:55 - Race 2
* Tuning of Suspension / Transmission / Downforce components is permitted between races.

Hey Turbo,

I've recently become interested in no ABS racing and would be interested in doing this. Am I okay to sign up if I could make only the final 3 races? Great idea with this series.👍

Edit: I should have read more thoroughly, it looks like its no problem.

That's fine. What we'll do is have it set up so that people who know they can't make all the races will be a "Team Reserve". Making it ok to have 3 or 4 drivers on the team. (2 full time, 1-2 reserves)

Open game. :)

Edit: Just a heads up, want to do a pre-season race next weekend just trying to iron out the details.

I'm definitely interested, I've always enjoyed no ABS, just as long as everybody else is running it. What day are you going to do this? I can't tell if the races are Saturday or Sunday.

I want to be a reserve driver by the way.

The races are Sunday. Saturday is non mandatory practice.

Edit: I signed up for Motegi Racing.👍

As long as my internet issues get resolved, I'll be in for this 100%. :)

RT,

Could you change my registration to Team Crown Royal? I failed to notice that Bdub had already signed with RDS :guilty: . Will get the car repainted. Still want #13.

Thanks.

(Ps its 2:45am as I post )

Edit: Dont have Gunmetal for the rims.

Fixed.

Edit: Dont have Gunmetal for the rims.

The Motegi Racing Touge wheels have 3 stock colors: Black, Gray (or Gunmetal) and Chrome.

Nobody should have to look for paint chips for wheels. Every wheel for every team is a stock color, purchased directly from GT Auto. 👍

The gray one has a white outer rim and your picture has rim coloured outer rims.

Motegi racing has gray and the yellow cars rims are deffinatly different ;).

Signed up for the F-Sport Engineering team. Hope you don't mind me joining you Mule, I can always change it if needed. Looking forward to this.

Guys, I'm going to update the team graphics on Tuesday at work. I do all my work there on Photoshop CS3, and I only have Photoshop 7 at home. The two don't like to mix very well. :indiff:

Edit: We may do the pre-season race at Cedar Creek, that way everyone can get the track and have a pair of practice races on it so that when we come to it during the regular season everyone will be up to speed and ready to go.

If anyone wants to turn some laps on it, I already have it on share.

I have no idea how to get the track.

Send me a friend request if you haven't already. Once it's accepted, go to my profile in the game, then select the track icon on the bottom left. You can download it from there.

So RT when you planning a pre season race? :)
