Well great start of the season, super race yesterday no Dc's in two full rooms, great organization, so nice way to start JGTS 3.

I started on the front row which tbh I was not expecting, so my gold before the race was to finish on the podium.
Start was clean and I was driving behind pole sitter. Coming in the last sector I noticed I had some lag or frame rate issues. Last sector is hard enough in Tokyo so with lag it was basicly imposibble to push hard. So I lost about 18 sec to Jtown in the first stint alone and fell from 2nd to 5th before my first pit stop. Which when looking at the Q times I really wasnt expecting.

After the pit stop lag finaly went away and I could push hard again. Came out behind Lozza and had the pace on him on fresh rubber. Had a few epic laps of side by side racing untill lap 30 I think, then I pulled away from Lozza for about 4 sec. Later I found out he got damage. Driving in 4th now I noticed Sken was loosing chunks of time in last 2 laps, as I suspected he got damage and had to pit at lap 34 I think. Bad luck there Sken. That got me be back on the podium spot and with few seconds lead over 4th I just brought the car home in one piece and got 3rd which is a super result for me at this track! Also nice to be the first GTR of so many this season.

Have to say has some nice fights on track, very clean racing. Looking at the reaplay I had a battle on track at some point with everyone that finished in top 5! Great stuff really, very competetive gropu of drivers, really enjoying this.

Congratz to J-Town! Sick performance, crazy consistant in the race. Well done.

Shame for my teammate Andro a.k.a. RB26X. He practiced so much through the week, had serious race pace. Came from 13th to 6th in first stint alone, than unfortunatly crashed and got heavy damage. Thats racing mate, you'll get it next time!

See you in Monza! GTR will be fast here, the Lexus shoudn't be as fast as in Tokyo so hopefuly we can get some points back!

Great OP Wardez!

Hey guys ,

That was some intense racing last night , i really enjoyed myself besides finishing 10th . After starting at the back of the grid in room 1 i managed to pass 2 drivers at the start and than another 2 the following few lap's being overly cautious and not pushing as hard as i normally would though. Got damage after 10 lap's which ruined my strategy forcing me to pit stayed out to lap 30 and made yet another stop , thinking about it i should have just filled up on my first stop and run the 30laps on the same tyres as i managed to get up to 6th before my second stop .

At least i will have some time this Friday to prep for the race , really looking forward to Monza and really glad this track is out of the way ...

Thank - you for the awesome racing guys , see you all on Sunday .

had a good race, made mistake ,i think the tyres were cold.. anyways after i crash i was trying to get out of the way,. than i crashed 2more times.:/ thx niss, must get beter resoult in moza.

Well i'm quite pleased with my result. My goal was to make it into D1, so I was well chuffed when I found myself in 9th. My plan was not to push too hard and keep out of trouble, and hopefully keep/gain a couple of places from others making mistakes. At the start I really struggled to keep in the draft and found myself dropping a couple of positions early in race but once settled I managed to catch up with the pack until lap 18 where I was forced to pit early due to clipping the wall.. After that I had some clean air and even though I wasn't putting in super quick lap times I was able to work my way up to 8th due to others making mistakes.

Just hope I can qualify in D1 for monza! Whats a good time round here?

@Wardez Do you still need a PAL copy of replay?

Do you guys respect the yellow line rule here for this series? I kept it tight at my pit stops but noticed no else seemed to pay any mind too it.

Took damage from my teammate of all people and fell back to last place, but I ended up fighting back to 11th position overall and placing ahead of my teammate still so no huss, no cuss. Sucks tho since I had made it to P11 already within a couple of turns of the 1st lap.

I'm sure I will focus more on race pace and consistency before all out lap speed. I'll make sure my Teammate does the same too! 👍's Up Tyson!

I actually have to apologize to my direct Teammate TnT, I just recently found out it was my other Teammate Owens that smacked me sorry Tyson 👍

BTW: I don't like this new site 1 bit. The like buttons are cool but that's it. I build op's And there are no longer Psn names under the the profile pic which means I have more work to do to find that out. I rather they just made smaller changes to the old version. "If it ain't broke don't fix it!"

Track boundaries are not as strict as they were in JGTS 2. Curbs are now part of track.

  • Curbing/rumble strips and most hard surfaces attached to white boundary lines are track, different considerations may be made at certain tracks.

Not liking the site aswell. You can't see the members that are in the thread, they deleted all our signatures, avatar quality is horrible. It's cool to like a post thats about it. But will probably get used to it.

Ahh ok, sounds good to me, might take the exit of ascari wider now. wasn't allowed back in WSGTC

Need to put in more practice , very inconsistent , times varying from mid 45s to mid 47s

At Monza, the red rumbles are track but the green patches are not. The asphalt exiting Ascari is also off limits, so be wary of running too wide.

For lap times, I ran a few 45 flats. Whether my rears will last in a heat race is up in the air.

While we're on the subject, I'm not fond of the new site either. Already having issues with it, especially with my phone.

Well I started the race in 5th and was looking forward to getting to the front to battle for a podium. Unfortunately I didn't drive well, Tokyo has never been my favorite track. Made it through my first stint well but ran too long after I confused myself on strategy.

After my first stop I was pushing too hard on new tires and tagged the wall on my left front which turned my wheel about 45 degrees. I had to pit to get rid of the damage and drove well at the end but still only managed 11th.

Needless to say im looking forward to Monza.

EDIT: After typing that response I have to say I hate the new site as well. I also use my phone a lot and I had to get my laptop out just to finish this edit. My keyboard wouldn't stay up and the cursor kept jumping around on it's own. All the avatar and signatures being gone is irritating as well.

Yeah, not a fan at all of the new layout... too much candy not enough substance for me. It's a lot more heavy-weight than the old phpbb with javascript rollovers and other pointless *features*... but whatever. I'm not a millennial either so this isn't for me. ;)

(+ I'm bitter that I couldn't make toothy grin moxie work out in the new 96x96x25KB avatar regime... so enjoy me.stig)

On topic... I have to say tinkering with the website again is actually making me want to drive in our farewell to GT5 event.

DUDE YOU GOTTA DRIVE IT WOULD MAKE THINGS SO RIGHT BB

We have a few new guys coming in from MSP as well, with you coming on, we could easily make a new team.

-----TRACK BOUNDARY IMAGES-----
Green checkmark = clean. Red x = dirty.

TrReO.jpg
GgIBf.jpg

Turns 1 chicane. Stay on the red and white. Your angle of attack will be looked at closely.

7s5PT.jpg
tx7cs.jpg

Be very careful coming into T3 chicane Roggia. It's easy to get out of bounds in such a tight place. And yes we will utilize millimeter size tolerances when inspecting questionable lap replays, do not try to get fresh.

Z8QmU.jpg
ZEt8y.jpg

The black tar run off after turn 4 in the beginning of Lesmo is an easy place to have a sandwhich so staying clean is vital to keeping your lap going, not much science going on here and not much to gain from going off the red and white curbing - Cutting turn 5 will not be tolerated.

5DydH.jpg
CqyF8.jpg

The run off in turn 5 can't be used for speed, as with T4's exit, so just stay on surface and you're fine - The more important part is your line back on track. You must get off the curbing before it ends and the green concrete keeps going. If you go back on track staying on the tar and crossing over the green concrete past the curbing your lap will be considered invalid. This goes for qualifying and during the race.

QUdLA.jpg

This is the proper line, though extremely close, in getting back on track after T5's exit.

qC03o.jpg
QCCiz.jpg

This is Turn 7's first left kink curbing/green concrete pad and yes this is a bad lap. I was serious when I said millimeters - The partner image is a close shave, but definitely clean.

F0KBK.jpg
VfyFT.jpg

Now this is T7's right hand kink. Ascari is tough to get a good rhythm through, but if you're off like this, don't bother trying to save it. The second image is more tasteful and clean.

CzNTJ.jpg
kw59q.jpg

Ascari left kink exit.

arHtm.jpg
6nwf8.jpg

Do not finish T7's exit by crossing the solid white line beyond the curbing - Join the track proper before the curb ends.

Turn 8/ Parabolica is impossible to cut to gain time so we won't worry about that, standard rules apply.

On pit exit you must be careful, but we are not looking at penalizing people for crossing any pitlane lines.

  • Make sure to stay on track at ALL times with at least 2 wheels touching white line / Red / White curb. Green concrete is not track. This is the way we are drawing out track boundaries for our race at Monza. We realize that there are alternate interpretations with respect to what is and what is not part of the curbing. But in our series the half of the curbing that is painted green in certain parts of Monza is treated the same as grass and NOT track area. The traditional two tire OLR rules apply and all questionable laps will be greatly scrutinized.

  • You can not use run offs or tarmac of any kind to gain speed. You will be penalized heavily during the race and disqualified for having a dirty lap in qualifying.
Just stay inside the rumble strips and course white lines.

  • Green Flag: Polecar will decide what side they start from as usual, but we are not going to be starting the race at the start/finish line, but past the pit exit. An image will be posted later explaining this in more detail.
The start for Monza will be a regular staggered double-file but the race will not begin from the start/finish line. We're going to have the races start from the end of the pitwall. This is to reduce the speeds going into turn 1 to make it safer.

Edit - here's the image for the starting point we're using:

Oh, on the support site? Yeah, Tim's still working on it.

Btw guys, check the post above again, I've turned it into a full race briefing, everyone read!

Throwing in the towel here guys! Was in a room of 4 and my internet did not hold. Must say this sucks big time. Did a clean 1:44.7 for test q. Finally figured out how to tune and now this :) but i will stop by if i see anyone i the need of a q. Otherwise i will be racing again in gt6!

Really hope i make d1 here , everyone seems to be able to hit 45 0s except me

Yea me and you got stuck in D2 last season. I got a penalty in Q still with the older track boundries. This year I feel more relaxed when attacking the track so I managed to get a 45.0

Will be interesting to see Q times here and the race will be one big slip game. But it will be very important to start at the front as it will be very difficult to pass with so many cars on track, everyone will have slip except for the leader obviously.

Thats a shame Basse. You were really flying today in practice.

Seems like its not possible to ad practice time on pure site.

Thanks for the head's up ... I'll look into it.

@Wardez
Fast lap season 2 was max's 1:44.666

Though we have a bit of an apples to oranges situation remember, since last season this was illegal.

I'm not bitter or anything. ;)

I'm gonna fail so hard this race, BF4's got me by the balls.

Oh and Btw, I'm adding a new rule to the OP for qualifying. It's in consideration to how hard people are going to push the limits of track boundaries for this round.

In the past, there has been discretion between what a driver sees and what an observer sees. Observes have called laps dirty when they went to review replays and four tires were barely off, then the driver has gone to check the lap and he found it to be just within the limits, and saw it clean.

If disputes like this come up again, we will always go with the driver's replay in determining qualifying or fastest race lap legality. If a driver wants to dispute the call, they must provide us with their replay otherwise it will go unchallenged.

Basse was nice enough to send me his setup but it hasnt really helped me still in the mid 45s and i wasnt really happy with the balance of the car , rear was a bit loose and i know if it was loose in clean air , in dirty air it will be a handful.

Ive went another direction in terms of setup and the car is very stable now and i still managed to get a mid 45.

Hopefully i can find more time before qualy and im hoping anything under 46 will get me in d1 .
