that was a race to forget...

if anyone feels the need to bump draft me, well DON'T. This isn't NASCAR, its just a big distraction and I lost my breaking point in the final corner which ended up me spinning around and getting a headache from it.

its not a rant at anyone its a genera comment to everyone in the series not to do it to me. There's nothing nasty about my post, it doesn't mention names, no swearing Nothing

Understood, but for future reference, capital letters indicate screaming. Emotion is very hard to detect through writing so when you capitalize an entire word it is usually to express heightened emotion. Whether it be joy, anger, or fright is usually determined by the context of the comment itself.

I am OK with bumpdrafting, usually guidelines apply.

I am always happy to receive the boost. I look at it as a kind gesture, instead of jamming into the corner two wide. Helps both parties if done correctly.

Put me on the pro-bump list.

I actually did not know there was someone in this series that didn't like it. I apologize if I ever bumped anyone else and they didn't want it.

Had some real decent races tonight.

Feature race I started 3 from the back. Managed to work my way into 5th by the exit of the chicane and stood at the back of Ward, Advent and I think SG. After hanging back for a lap or so, I made a move on Advent, overtaking him on the inside to turn 8. Exited with enough speed to catch onto the draft of (I think again) SG and Ward, and by the start line I managed to overtake them putting myself into 2nd.
By this time I had built probably about a 2 second gap so I didnt have anyone right up my bumper. But on turn 3, Advent flew into the back of Ward spinning him out and putting them both out the battle for 2nd. From then on, I pretty much worked my way up to GV who was 1st. 3-4 laps later, there must of been only a few second gap between me and him, but exiting turn 5, he must of lost grip and spun straight into the wall putting me into 1st. From then on, I pretty much raced on my own trying to set PB's. Managed a 1.45.054 at the beginning of my second stint. Pitted around lap 15.

The sprint race went just as good. Started 1st here, but I missed my breaking point for the chicane letting Muzz past. Eventually worked my way past him with GV and Ward on my bumper. Pitted around lap 5 and a few guys overtook into 1st. Around lap 8 I retook 1st and from then on it was pretty much get to the finish line with no mistakes.

Overall, a decent night for me. Really wish I quali'd earlier as I think there would of been a fair chance for making it into D1, but what the hell, you win some, you lose some. 👍

Good Work Josh, glad to gave you a good setup ;)

Setup was perfect! Had a little worry i'd mess up on the first few laps for not being used to it, but it felt so solid!

I'm absolutely fine with bumpdrafting with light damage, as it helps a lot and it's good for both drivers involved, but heavy damage + bumpdrafting seems dangerous to me. The risk is huge, so I'd rather not do it. Never had any problem with any other driver about this matter, though, so not that it worries me.

As for the race... I'd rather not speak about it, to be honest.

I like bump drafting more with heavy damage actually, you don't need to treat the cars like glass... more like... heavy... card...board?

...

anyway, I'm special.

But on the other hand, you also don't get people coming up behind you full speed and slam drafting you so that's why I like it. Only the most precise doctors or the B.D. shall execute.

I am curious, I always see forum members from the UK using the word "breaking" when referring to the slowing of a car rather than "braking" as is used in American English, is this something that is different similar to "kerb" and "curb?"

I wanted to say congrats to Nige on his 2nd(full) and 1st(sprint) finish today.👍 I am pretty sure that takes the week.

I will try and post my race report sometime soon.

Hmm.. I am curious as well.

Brakings as in to slow down, breakings as in to break something, like, smash it or something. Noticed I wrote breaking a few times, ignore that, I just suck at English and im English. Such a shame..

 Guess that clears that up.

No problems. Now we know.:)

Easy mistake to make, btw.

anyone get under 45.199 in the D2 race(s)?

that's the line for the 3rd bonus point.
typing up the results now.

That was fastest lap in D1?

I'm checking our replay now.

Well, I went to WalMart and bought a new controller to support me until I get my RSeat in. I still can't believe that the L2 completely snapped off. Never had a problem with Playstaion controllers before. It wasn't even two weeks old...

That was a pretty bad wipe out man. Feel real sorry for Wardez. Must of been a complete shock! :scared:

I should have gone to the right into the barriers instead of trying to hope it would slow down. Once again, sorry about ruining it for you Eddie.

No problem Russ, you're a good guy, thanks for explaining and the sympathy, no big deal there's always next week.

In any case, looks like Josh grabbed fastest lap. He did a 1:45.024!

I don't say it enough.. Thanks again Eddie and Dennis for putting together such a great league!👍 👍

Thank you Tim for all your hard work with the website and managing all of the stats!👍👍

And I almost forgot.. Thanks to Dom for all his hard work, both here and in WSGTC, for playing such a large part in creating such even cars.👍👍

I heart all you guys too.
But you know I love my realism. :D

Edit: Looks like me and Tony did about perfect to drop some ballast and still score some good points. :)

Race 1:
Started 7th, scared out of my wits. Fantastic start, no incidents in my field of view, great job guys.👍
Pretty uneventful overall, I was in no hope of passing anyone without them passing right back, so I just hung around, Tony managed to snake away while Brosif and Pag were doing a little more then needed battling in the early laps, but we managed to stay trouble free, when Paginas pit on lap 11 it gave me some breathing room, Brosif lost draft and seemed to have tire trouble, so I managed a nice 5 second gap or so before pitting on lap 16, in 3rd?!?!?
Don't know how or when it happened, but it breathed new life into me, coming out of pits in 7th, knowing quite a few guys were on 2 stoppers, slow and steady she goes, Pag was behind but just out of my draft for a few laps, and then Welsh came out, I stuck with for 1-2 laps, but then I took chicane 1 to casually, and he got away. :banghead:
Right behind him, up came Litchi, powering down through in the uber bannana, I also lost his draft quickly as well. :ouch:
So it was just me, cruising home to take fifth, which I decided I was quite content with, considering my condition, and as luck (for me) would have it, Litchi and Dennis got tangled only a few seconds in front of me. Soared past them both like they were standing still (because they were almost) and cruised home to the flag in a solid third.
Couldn't have played out better for me. :)
Edit: The slowest "fast lap" of anyone finishing the race. :D The turtle beat the hare today.

Race 2:
Started 5th, just wanted to avoid trouble and keep 8th or better, but completely forgot about pitting early on, and raced behind the pack, which slowed me down for 4 laps, and then Dennis appeared to lose it, eventually hitting the immovable brake markers in Lesmo. Red caught him a bit I think, and I slammed in full force, total damage, gimping along, I caught an outside wheel in the grass entering Ascari, took a vacation at the beach, and cruised home (pushing) to a not-so-solid dead last. :yuck:

I ran 2 great races today, so I have to be happy, good points for losing ballast, have to leave Monza with a smile. :)

This was as clean as I've seen a Monza race, so everyone pat yourselves on the back, awesome formation laps, no hiccups, and pretty close to damage free racing as Monza gets.
Hopefully the replay doesn't make this sound stupid.
But from wat I saw, seriously, makes me glad to be racing in this group, very well done guys.

Edit 2: Big congrats to Nige, Rees, and Litchi, great job out there today guys.👍
Tough break award: Dennis, Eddie. Sucks guys, sure you'll both do better at the relaxing Spa next week.👍

Well this was by far the best race I've had in this series. Started last in the sprint, due to missing the feature, took advantage of a couple of people leaving the track and found my way into 5th. However, somebody (likely unintentionally) blocked me going into the first chicane- I clipped the grass, managed to save it, but gave Dre the slightest of taps, apparently damaging both of us anyway. I was able to keep going for a couple of laps, using Wiifreaks draft (thanks teammate ;)), before deciding that I didn't like going through Ascari with my wheel off to the side, so I pulled in on lap 3 or 4. Came out infront of Dre, and passed a few people in the pits and I was 4th, hunting down Scanny. On the last lap, I finally got into his draft and had a run on him coming out of Parabolica, but he was weaving back and forth across the track, so I had no clue where to go to pass him. Hesitated just too long, and finished .013 seconds behind him. Needless to say, I wasn't very impressed by that, but otherwise it was a great race.

If it wasn't for the damage, I likely would have stayed behind Wiifreak and stayed with him until the finish. He wasn't that far ahead of us in the first place.

Good job Joshua for the D2 double. ;)

Thanks for the thanks guys! :)

Knew I had a shot at a good result today with the NSX, but maybe chose the wrong pit strategy. Race 1 started well and both myself and Rees were able to get away well from the start, with a small gap back to Den and Litchi. Everything went to plan, minus a couple of small errors and we exchanged positions a few times before I decided to take my 1st pit at the end of lap 10 from the lead, with Litchi following in behind me. Tyres and lap times were still consistent at this point, but I was concerned that the car would get too much of a handful on the 1 stopper, by about lap 14, so played it safe. I was actually expecting Rees and Den to 2 stop too, but then it came clear they were out for the 1 stopper!! Now the game had changed!! I was 28s down after my pit stop and by the time Rees pitted, I had clawed that back to about 16s, which gave me hope for a close finish still. Litchi seemed to hold steady about 4s behind me, which was just about comfortable ;). I pitted at lap 20 (1 earlier than originally planned) to enable me to get back to good laps on fresh tyres, didn't take gas as it seemed ok and re-joined the track about 14s behind Rees, who had a gap to Den in 2nd, with Litchi still about 4s behind on the exact same strategy as #36 Team Stealth NSX racing driver, GTP_Welsh-Bain. Pushed hard and eventually caught Den on his worn tyres and slipped into 2nd. Shortly after this I believe Den and Litchi had a coming together which left me safe in 2nd. Got the gap down to about 8s to Rees with 3 laps remaining and knew his tyres were going to drop off bad from here on in, so sniffed a chance at a close finish. However, as I started lap 30, I noticed my fuel gauge was pretty low and was concerned about making it to the end, so started to short shift to ensure I got it home, finishing 10s back of Rees, with my gauge showing a super slim line of Red. A few litres of fuel at the second pit stop could have made things very interesting, but Rees took a well deserved victory in the feature race today with some fine driving on worn tyres. Well done Rees!! 👍

Sprint race was always going to be interesting as usual. Starting from 10th, I was able to quickly squeeze by Den going into turn 1 as he was a little over cautious and braked early. Basically followed Brosif and Tony for the first flying lap, then pitted at the end with them both. It appears Tony's crew are all going to get fired after slacking and not being ready for his early pit, allowing both me and Brosif to comfortably clear him in the pits. Followed Bro' for a lap or two, then had Pag with us after his early pit a lap or so later. Another lap later my team mate Jeff exited the pits between me and Bro aswell and the track was busy again! Couple of minor mistakes, but kept plugging away, before Pag caught the outside grass exiting the final turn and spun in the middle of the track, leaving Brosif nowhere to go, and me and Jeff looking at a cloud of smoke trying to pick a line through!! Jeff to the right, me to the left and luckily safely through :scared: Managed to slip by me team mate into 4th just after this, right behind Ansem who had just exited the pits after his stop also. Both Tim and Rees were still out and yet to pit when I slid by Ansem down the start/finish straight to take 3rd. I believe Rees pitted at the end of 7 and came out just behind Ansem and myself, with Tim pitting on the next lap and exited right alongside me into turn 1, where he was able to hold the line and position. Fortunately with the power of the Team Stealth NSX, I was able to get by Tim going into the first chicane and then it was a dog fight for the last 1 1/2 laps! Great stuff and again the power of the NSX held me out front in the drag to the line, eeking out the win by 0.091s I believe, with the top 4 separated by less than 0.6s!! Great race guys. :)

With my bonus points for 2nd in qualifying and taking the fastest lap with a 1'44.6xx, it turned out to be a great day for me and leaves me sitting pretty in 2nd in the championship standings, with the Team in a solid 3rd. 👍

hey stewards I dont't see myself on the heat 2 classification... did you forget me or you guys have disqualyfied me for any reason?

Hmm, don't remember it like that if I'm honest??

Got a decent exit out of parabolica, had 50 metres on Mule, made 2 or 3 sweeps to try and break the draft on the run to the line (as is often done), none that could be viewed as blocking as he wasn't close enough. As soon as he did get close enough I held my line to the left for the final two hundred meters and just held on.

I'm certain that I didn't make any movements when Mule was close enough for me to cause him to hesitate, the draft just ain't strong enough for that to be the case anymore.

I can't check the replay as I didn't save it but if anyone does watch it I'd be interested to know their view.

By the way, congratulations for the great results for Welsh and Rees on D1, and of course my team mate, Ansem, who saved the day with a great P3 on sprint race!

Castrol Supra 2nd on Team standings. I'm surprised.

You didn't block me there. Nothing dirty and malicious like that, but like you said, you made 2 or 3 moves when the rule is only 1.

I'm not too worried about it, though. I cut ascari that lap, and probably didn't slow down enough to warrant any action from the stewards.
