Ballast Report:

Welsh takes the day and adds +60kg fattening up his 20kg passenger.
RedRevos on the second step gets his first +40
Litchi eats a 20kg candy bar in 3rd

Denilson, Wardez, CSLACR, WiiFreak, Paginas1, SuperSic all go on a 20kg diet

So, are we doubling points for Enduro's?

I vote yes.

For example, Dennis picked up 60KG's for winning Le Sarthe, while only recieving 32 points for the race.
Today, I finished tied for 4th in a 2-heat, earned 2 more points then Dennis,(34-32) and will drop 20 KG's.
I actually think it's pretty important we do.

I have ballast??? (what does mean "candy bar" -->> I'm french.. sorry :( )
I think i finished 4th and 6th... (not sure) Ballast for those places?

Btw, I vote YES ;)

Total points gives away ballast.
He said candy bar as a weight reference.
Since it's "fattening up", you must have gone on an eating binge.

hey stewards I dont't see myself on the heat 2 classification... did you forget me or you guys have disqualyfied me for any reason?

good catch, my eyes just missed you and I forgot to type it in.
fixed 👍

Just need the d2 fast laps and we're good in record time.

Thanks

oh, btw... I turned on the second drop score as well.
I saw, like this feature. :)

Oh yeah, sorry, i totally forgot this. Why? Cause I'm not used to be on the PURE's podiums lol.

I think you may actually be the first to not get a podium in either race but still take an overall podium.

Do not double the points for the enduros. Make it equal to a dual round. Multiply all points with 1,5.

I had this up for discussion before my La Sarthe win. For the record.

That was also before we switched to a quali-for-your-spot format.

Did I say double? Whoops, meant 1.5 yes.
I actually can't remember it being brought up, it just came to me shortly after Monaco.💡 :dopey:

Did I actually say yes to double? Obviously I was referring to giving the enduro the same value as a whole DH weekend. :)

Exactly this, 1.5x. I must have missed the discussion prior to Le Sarthe, sorry about that, but this only makes sense.

Amazing how many said yes to double. :P
Maybe they knew what I meant from the mention it was given before the race?

Well, we're giving ONE race the value of TWO races, after all. :dopey: (even if the 2nd race's value is just 50% of the first)

So I guess it makes sense, in a way.

I agree the enduros should have a multiplier of some sort. Anywhere between 1.3 to 1.5 makes sense to me.

Only reason I gave a range is because it is obviously a little tougher to do what Dom did and win both races.

edit - After a little thought.. It should be same total points awarded for the weeks. Otherwise it would make the dropped races strange.. So my vote is 1.5.

Report:

After a bad Saturday I was happy just to start in D1 so having 10 cars in front of me was actually a welcome sight. We got off so on-time and efficiently that the formation lap probably ended pretty close to the 'official' green flag time.
Lap 1 I'm in the GT-R with an NSX behind me... so yeah I'm caboose at turn 1 as Owens eats me up. Going into turn 1 paul's Lexus was jinking all over with lag, which was very unfortunate. He looked fine on the roll out it only started getting bad right before the brake zone. I stood hard on the brake and just hoped the lag would clear or at least that we'd both survive. Luck didn't hold out and our cars tried to occupy the same space and time. Busted RF and paul continued to slide around erratically so I fled the scene. (I'm in awe of your perseverance man, if my net connection got flaky as much as yours I would have given up online gaming long ago.)

So like Brosif and CSL I'd been planning on just trundling along for a one-stop and hopefully pass people in the pits. The wonky RF and long gap to the pack; however made me decide to fall back on the 2-stop. Ran quick pace to catch up to the train of cars covering 5th-9th and finally got the wind around lap 9... hung onto that group until 11 when my pit window opened. Got tires, I'd barely burned 1/4 tank so I left fuel at 0 and went out.

Had a great 2nd stint all alone. Clicked off 9 1:45's and ran the last two in the 46.6 range right into my 2nd stop window at 22. Fuel was over 1/4 so I left it alone and headed back out. Ansem's Supra was on the straight when I came out, me and him duked it out for position and then I eventually pulled away and sailed to the finish line uneventfully. Pretty happy with 9th coming from 11th. Everyone was quick and consistent today. Good Race. 👍

The Sprint... Started 2nd, Owens' NSX roars off down the road as expected. Stay with him on cold tires then got anxious and needed to get by when I started seeing 1:48, also had a supra and early Pagina's GT-R crawling all over me. So spent 2 laps trying to get around and stay around but that NSX had long legs.
Owens went into the pit, Ansem's Supra went round and I did a lap looking at new tail lights. He then pulled into the pit and I had some laps in clean air to try and make a pit window. I did pretty good and after Rees came in I could finally see the real gap to second. It was > 20s so I jumped in ASAP.

Coming back down the pit road I was delighted to see that my pit crew did a good job and I came back out in P1. There was the sister stealth NSX however leading the charge and Welsh dispatched me on acceleration through Curve Grande. I hung on to him and tried like mad to keep 2nd while warming up the tires. We were already starting to make a nice gap by Ascari due to Rees and Ansem doing some racing and welsh going proper fast.

Coming into parabollica for the first time I nudged you (and I may have also tapped owens early in the race)... sorry guys, your cars are so stealth it messed with my range finding equipment. ;) For real though that was the first time I'd been around an NSX on Monza and was ill prepared for how much lower your entry speeds are. My bad.

So after watching Welsh gather the car back together we went down the straight in a group of 4. Kept on each other for one more lap and I did everything I could to get the win. I some how broke perfectly and was maybe a foot off the NSX bumper all through parabollica and down the front half of the straight until the draft finally started to slingshot me. Spread out side-by-side and then the NSX caught up and started pulling away again as we crossed the line

just remember there are also enough enduro's (4) so you can't drop them all.

I do agree it's definitely harder to win both, I'm just going with the ballast. Not really fair to add same ballast when the same points aren't possible.

The ballast is the dropping hammer imo, otherwise I would say 1.25ish would be more fair.

Neat pics.

Nicely written up Tim and a great picture showing the end of Race 2! 👍

Awesome reports guys!! Really nice read! 👍

I'm so not happy with my own races. I had good shots at 1st in both races.

Feature, on my last lap on the 1st stint, I spun out of Parabolica. Before the spin, I was 2 sec behind Red.. Lost like 8 seconds.. Which was enough to make the 2-stoppers catch up to me.

Sprint, I had 4 flawless laps. And was on my last lap prior my 1st stop. I knew I had gone fast enough to come out from the pits in first.. But a concrete brake marker had other plans for me.

I hope I can do well at Spa. The fight for 2nd is HUGE!! Love it!! 👍

And dispite my poor performance these last 2 weeks, I must say that the racing have been great!

Monza and Monaco are two of the "worst" tracks when it comes to crashes.
A true sign that this group is the best out there! No doubt!

Good racing today guys 👍 I'm quite happy with my results, especially since I had no practice and started last and second last in the two races. I may have done better in the first race but I had rear damage for the majority of my first stint. I managed to nurse the car and keep a good pace up until my pit stop on lap 15, but if I didn't have that damage I may have challenged for second.

I think as long as we stay 12 per division, we should not have any problem. Now, on WSGTC, that's another matter...
