Yes, Dom.. I went for the fastest lap, since I also had the pole time, I have 6 bonuspoints to cover up my mistakes in the race..

Thanks for the report muzz! 👍
Really nice to have such a clean and respectful guy like yourself around! 👍

Thanks Dennis. That means a lot, beleive me.

Oh and BTW cheers for doing your best to get out the way when you were damaged man. LoL I had an inside/outside moment but all good.

LOL.. I know. The only one who passed me effortless was CSL, cause I came up to Adenaúer forst just as he cought me, so I was able to go straight out on the grass.. The rest of you were lucky... LOL

Gate19 sheet updated btw.. Tim, you mind having a look? Just to make sure everything is in order.. cheers

Yeah Muzz, that was really great fun. A model PURE driver :)👍

And an amazing write up from Brosif, really put me in the race again (the victory clip is so choice). All I could see of them was the position changes and a few little blue arrows spinning around. I'd cringe every time I saw an arrow do a 360 then start forward again slowly, poor little blue arrows :(

yeah, thanks for taking care of that. I updated the ballast so everything is all set.

poor little blue arrows :(

I noticed Will's car was damaged on the warmup lap and had a very bad feeling something was going to happen early so backed it off a bit at the start line. Sure enough it went down (two accidents rolled into one) and I was able to sail through the carnage.

Yeah, awful night (JGTS and MSC) for me. I hate Nordschleife and SSR5... and tonight it was...Nordschleife and SSR5..

Night to forget for me.

And really happy for you Muzz ;), you're persistent 👍. Really glad to have you on board too. (thanks Litchi ). And I'm proud of you cause you wake up every sundays at 5am..... I could never do that

LoL thanks guys. It really is good to race with drivers better than yourself. This is a great series and I'm proud to be here. Any series Dennis and/or Eddie come up with I hope I'll be invited. Yer Litchi mate, awesome heads up about this. I was so nervous at the start of it I was shaking trying to hold the DS3, now it's not so bad. Only my foot shakes using the G25. LOL. Nah it's great fun and my confidence grows each race.

LoL 5am just about every day of the week to race. No point racing Kiwi's and Aussies. All most of them want to do is drift and swear at each other. I wanna race so I make the sacrifice to race the best.

You're right Will you never could wake up at 5am because you don't go to bloody sleep untill 6am.

Kiwi's?

You got a spot secured in future events, don't worry Muzz! 👍

Even I know Kiwi's is a term for New Zealanders and Aussies is short for Australians . (A perk of having Aussie family/friends and having been over there a while, I picked up all the slang and I still dont understand the reason for Aussies and Kiwi's hating each other :boggled:.)

Yeah, I was kinda hoping to have some more breathing room in the points standings...

All same Bonnie Scotland and Englandshire mate.

We don't really hate each other, we are the ANZAC's nothing can get us down.

Don't worry mate.. I'll catch you.. :sly: ;)
It's a tricky game now, and don't forget Nige, a whopping one good/bad race from besting us both. ;)

Watch out for the ballast monster...:P

I was disappointed to find I didn't have Dennis' qualifying replay, but then I found the written down splits.
I turned a lap time of 8:34.523, into 518.523, (+4) misreading my sloppy 4 for an 8.
Yes, my handwriting is terrible.:dopey:

Choice one dude. Some great pic's there. Awesome race!!! We need more night racing.

Dennis that's one hell of a cut man. You are the Lawn Mower Man!! LoL just messing with ya.

The pic of Eddie and I racing made me realise that that 1/2 lap has made my series.

The 2nd pic of my car looks quite serene. Sort of a Sunday outing in the country. But right there I'm trying to not mash the gas and turn into a spinning top.

LOL.. Yea, that was the situation I mentioned earlier.. I had severe damage, and all I wanted to was to get out Dom's way.. That seemed like the best option at the time, and I still think it was. 👍

Awesome pictures Jamen!! 👍

Really amazing shots man jeez!

People make taking lively photos easy, inspirational stuff. Crisp shots like this always remind me of who incredibly good the game looks. It's really the best looking serious racing game out there at the moment, save for a few mods (but trust me, I've played them all).

Sending it to my Forza-minded friends to give them a real Nurburgring to look at (the one in Forza 4 is horrible).

Also, thought I'd all let you guys know of the big news.

Yes, rumors are true, we're partnering up with McLaren as an engine supplier in the near future, despite Woking's efforts to deny the collaboration. Mercedes is, after all, a naughty bunch:

Lol Wardez ou really know how to find some interesting stories on the PURE brand .

Also nice pics Brosif my baised-ness says the one of CSL is the best :P.

I'll be at Circuit de Catalunya when the F1 tests begin, just so I can start negotiating with McLaren in the name of PURE, but shh, that's a secret.

Great pics, Brosif 👍

Hey, Alex.. I got a friend in Spain who want to take me to Jerez for the F1 testing on Feb 7th.. Are you going to be there?

I didn't have a problem running at night. I turned the EV to +1 and had good visibility which allowed me to run as hard as I was during the day.

Ah, yeah. It seemed like our blue tinted headlights were pretty terrible. High/Low beam switch didn't even change them  so it was kind of at a fixed medium beam.

Suppose I could have turned up the brightness but I rather enjoy the terror of the darkness. Driving into the inky unknown trusting you know where the next corner is going gives that little bit of fear which is totally missing from 90% of sim-racing. Out on the north loop it reminded me of my teens bombing around on unlit country roads. 👍

The GP track however, was positively terrifying without lights. Especially running down to the hairpin before schumacher. Finding the brake point was always stressful. So I highly recommend driving in the dark not the dim. It's not the fastest but way more fun.

-----------

Ran some quick laps at Indy this morning. I'm always pretty clueless what to do with the setup for IMS since it's flat slow-medium speed corners. So is 1:29.4 respectable or do I need to completely re-think the suspension?

I have a 1:29.8, so I guess 29.4 is fine-ish?

I was secretly hoping people would find it hard to go quicker than my 29.8, hehe. More training tonight, I guess.

Den, unfortunately I won't be able to go to Jerez. I tried asking my employer to get me a media-pass (I work for a racing-related website) but they said it's impossible (and I live at a 5/6 hours drive away from the track anyway), so I'll just go to Barcelona (twice), if I can get my media-pass. I should be able to, since I already did it last year, but with F1, you never know!

I don't want to sound bad to Jerez, but Barcelona's a much more entertaining race track. Also better organisation, and in my opinion, you get to see more corners by the way the grandstands are laid. So, if by any chance you were to go around Circuit de Catalunya, let me know! 👍

I figured I might be able to have some sort of battle with Eddie during the night laps as his pit strategy was off so I pushed a bit through the night and was doing ok until I made a 1/2 spin. Eddie and I did have a great 1/2 lap battle together with him pushing me to my max. Eddie was on 1 lap tyres with me on 3 lap tyres so it was a little scarey trying to keep him at bay without being an idiot about it. Thanks mate that was real good fun. Big respect man. You pushed me but backed off where it mattered. You are a gentleman driver!!!

It was very entertaining to watch the two of you battle through the night. It really allowed me to appreciate GT5 and how far it has come since the original GT. I know that’s kind of mushy, but despite all of its flaws I really do love GT5.

I laughed when I read this because I had just taken the photo and knew exactly what you were talking about.

I agree, night racing is an amazing experience. The tunnel vision created by the stillness of the night really lets you get into a rhythm and see things that you didn’t before.

The photo of you coming through Ex-Mühle turned out great. The rear of the car just started to rotate when I pressed the pause button and I knew that you were "trying to not mash the gas and turn into a spinning top." That corner is so easy to muck up and it always seems to give me a ton of trouble.

Reached a 1:29.7xx. Not sure I can improve much more, though! I feel good on the track, however. Now I just need to know more people's times, so I can compare! ;)

Also, thanks everyone for the compliments on the photos. I know they aren't amazing and, like most people, I just shoot for fun and personal satisfaction in IRL, but everyone loves being acknowledged for their efforts. I meant to add captions for each photo but it was late and I had a draining day at work. I took a few more but I didn't want to bomb the thread.

My favorite is probably Den and CSL at Adenauer Forst or Minion on the brakes going into Bergwerk. The shot of Minion is great, in my opinion, because of the shadows cast by the rising sun and the illumination of the trees from the Lexus' headlights.

I also wanted to compliment GV27 and Minion for sticking it through for the whole race. The two of you both had some rotten luck but despite your rough races you were able to run a good chunk of the middle of the race within 5-10 seconds of one another. I wanted to get a shot of the two of you fighting but every time I checked to see if the two of you were any closer together the gap seemed to be the exact same distance. That final shot of the Castrol Supra is GV27 after he survived the night. And the shot of Minion falling, yes falling, down Pflanzgarten was taken when his Lexus was suffering from heavy damage to all four corners and engine.
