Obviously you guys are very fast, but I'm wondering in what conditions did you do these times? With tires and fuel depletion on or off? And with grip loss at minimal or realistic?

Again, no matter what the settings were, these times are good, but I'm curious about how alien you two are!

Everything on with realistic grip loss. We are far from being alien. Replay is faster than I am. Tony and replay are very close to each other. im only good in being consistent in a race.

Which is it?:sly:

Anyone turning a sub 45 in a GTR at Monza with these specs is a certifiable alien.

im not too fussed about changing to two groups (id rather not though as id rather fastest to win and im sure it will sort itself out :))ill be running at the back no matter what im in but ill be loving every minute 👍

Damn it, corrections already:

Question mark shouldn't be there. And each time you miss the top three, you lose 20kg.

More than two of the same car on track at the same time is possible. So if we use the Yellowhat GT-R as the customer car then there will be two drivers fighting for the team championship and all the others will not.

Another correction:

This is being handeled by a 'weighted value' system made by our member TnJF. It's software hosted on a website that TnJ made in order to most easily handle the car selection process. We will need all participating PURE drivers to register on the website in order to use the program to start selecting their preferred cars. Then TnJ will run an algorithm that will spin all of the data and assign cars to every one based against every one else's preferences. It works as a 'weighted value' system in that there will be a sort of rating system for each car you want.

From TnJ's description:

"I was thinking it's easiest and equitable to have every one just "rate the cars" from 1-17 by order of their preferences.
And when I say "rate" I don't necessarily mean put them in an order from 1-17, you certainly could do that, and that will work fine, but I also want the flexibility of having multiple #1 choices.
Think of it more like "How much do you like the Calsonic GT-R on a scale of 1-17?" with 1 being "I NEED IT!" and 17 being "I'll quit if I get it"

Some examples:
* You could fill them all out as 1's if you really don't care what car you get (rate them all the same value).
* If you really don't want an NSX you can mark all the NSXs as 17's. And every other car as a 1.
* If you really want the stealth GTR but would be happy with the other ones you could do the stealth as a '1' then all the other's as '2's... etc.
* If you want a GT-R but don't care which one; but you'd also be ok with either SC430; but won't drive a supra. You could mark all the GT-Rs as '1', SC430's as '2', and Supra's as 17, with NSXs and such in the middle somewhere."

This was the 'beta' idea Wardez accidentally forgot to remove from the communication before hitting send.
After discussing ways to "expolit" the system. We decided to "keep it simple"; so everyone will just rank the cars straight up from 1-17. It's the easiest way to ensure that everything is equitable and no one can game the system.
Clear instructions will be on the sign-up sheet which should "go live" @ 0:00 UTC on Saturday.

The general idea of what will happen is that everyone's car preferences will go through a statistical model designed to produce a grid that makes sure everyone is in their highest choice possible. So seriously consider your list when you make it. The output is only going to be as good as your input. :)👍

Didn't mean to start a small debate as I was only referring to the final pre-season race here at Monza. I'm sure Dennis was too, as the full season could never be run like that. I was more referring to the idea of having the fastest group of drivers in one room with a variety of cars to see how things compared, which I feel with Monza, would be slightly biased. I don't see an issue with running it split as mentioned for a pre-season race and I'm happy to run however we decide to run it. :)

During race conditions it's easy to see how the GTR can run with the NSX here from the video Wardez posted due to the draft, although it's much more difficult for the GTR to pass the NSX, than Vice Versa.

So we must have our choices by Saturday? Oh geez, time to get testing. Miatas and now this. Im gonna get destroyed. :lol:

That's just when it opens, you'll have a couple days to make your choices (drop-dead time is TBD, but you can probably expect it to be Monday since that's when quali opens for the first race the 20th... probably be nice for people to know what they're driving by then).

And you should really have tested all the cars by now.... so :P

That's just when the site goes live. There's going to be a sign up deadline of around... a couple days?

Still need to iron that down. But whatever the deadline is, it won't be Saturday. Definitely not before the last practice race. SO think-test-and-think!

Ah ok, that's a relief. I haven't tested anything as I was waiting for final specs as well as technical rules(which have been just released). I found them interesting, and gained interest in this.

Just one final question: Are we free to choose our teammates or are we assigned a teammate based on our car choices?

Edit: :lol: @TnJF

Team mates will be assigned F1 style, through random desperation and whoever has the most money to become a number 1 driver.

But really, you can arrange it afterward. Say you and someone really want to team up in a Supra, you get one Supra and the other guy gets the other. Just ask the dude that randomly teamed up with you if you can get with your preferred team mate and it should work out, common sense and all that.

@TnJ
Cool so you wanna type for me now? I could use a break :D

Time to get your fast fingers coding now! Go-go-go! xD

Hmm, ok. Can we do Schumi-Ferrari style racing a.k.a slow down for the teammate to pass to claim the victory/championship? Poor Rubens :lol:

Yes dude, I can hear Tony's hands festering from here. He must be sick without a wheel right now :/

I occasionally jump in to run Spa with the pad but it feels so weird.:ouch: I might have a surprise for you guys though next week.:sly:

Both Noss and Replay are certified race-winning material and that's all that matters . Hot-lapping, alien-space-walking, GT-academy type stuff is for p*ssies. We are racers.

Sounds good, I was already imagining all the ways it could be used, much better ranking every car.

But I thought the Eneos and Epson were relegated to "customer cars"? If somebody wants them it's fine by me, but I certainly don't want either, and I wouldn't want to "stick them" to somebody else.

I'ma smoke dem fools! ;) :lol:

Good point... I'll let Denilson field that one as car specs are kinda his thing.
If that's true it will just be a 1-15 choice.

Also just like to clarify that missing the sign-up deadline also isn't going to mean you have to be a 'privateer racer' either... Just means you won't be in the lottery so you'll have to pick from whatever is left on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Hey guys (I'm here at work now on my phone). I was just wondering if every one understood and agreed with the penalty system?

Try running some championship scenarios to see how common penalties may stack up.

It's a hard system to balance, hope we got it just right 'cause it is a pretty groundbreaking alternative of a method.

Edit: and about the cars. We're sort of expecting a full field of team drivers which is why I talked about there possibly being more than two of the same car in a field.

If it comes to be that some people don't want certain cars then they will be given the option of going teamless and getting one of the more desireable common cars. This will all be played by ear when car selection is nearing completion

So it's Friday now...
Are we doing qualifying for this final practice race, or just sticking with what lines up?

hah, well, still Thursday here on the Best coast. I was planning on doing my qualifying tomorrow. I think we should try and do as many people as possible with our regular qualifying method than take the deadline up to an hour before race time. I'll send a separate PM about it later tonight when I'm back from work.

Got a new router and modem so I'm gonna try and live stream my race on Sunday. ASUS (RT-N56U) and the Motorola SB6120 SURFboard. Solid solid solid!

Speak Engrish prease. :lol:
Qualifying is fun and brings the group together for random practices.👍

Love it.:lol:
I know it's like 10 hours old, but cracks me up every time I enter the page.👍

Sweden vs. Netherlands??

Ok, we had a few intence football matches against eachother during the last few years (Sweden won 3-2 a mounth ago), so sure..

But it should obviously be Sweden vs. Norway.. Not that it's ever a tough task for a Swede, but because of the close relations between the countries..
For those of you who don't know, Swedes can speak Sweedish and Norweigans can speak norwiegan to one and other and understand perfectly fine.. A different thing with the Danish though.. Theye understand Sweedish, but Swedes don't understand s*** when listening to danish..

Sounds like English and Americans. Though you never know who won't understand who there.:dopey:
I don't know where to put the time, so here:

chorda - 30.085 - 35.668 - 39.526 = 1'45.270

Monza Quali lap roll call.

GTP_CSL:
T1: 30.122
T2: 35.376
T3: 39.679

TOT: 1:45.177

chorda:
T1: 30.085
T2: 35.668
T3: 39.526

TOT: 1:45.270

Did you have his splits from the other lap as well?

I'm punching in all times here:

I just added a few of the emails I had from WSGTC drivers that are in PURE so expect an email notification if you're one of those drivers.

Need E-mails from the following people, they must register a Google account in order to access the spreadsheet (but this does not mean you need to make a Gmail account, you can sign up for a 'Google account' with whatever E-mail you have):

RIP_Welsh_Don ;
CSLACR ;
Imari ;
Nastradamus87 ;
redreevos ;
WiiFreak ;
The Outlaw ;
GV27 ;
Dr_Watson ;
NEPALII ;
Supersic ;
lapierre4

I'm not sure csl got my splits right.. Cause when adding them, I get 1:45.279.. So 9/1000 too much..

Yes sir, but it's also optional if you'd rather be put on a waiting list.
