Had a look at iracing and wow it looks great theres pleanty of cars and tracks . Even a V8 Supercar (I may trial it as a fun thing to see if my net and laptop are up to it...) But ill never leave Gt5 .

Ive signed up for the month trial anyone round here how can show me the ropes?

I bought a 1 year subscription about 6 months ago. I played off and on for a month, then realized, I needed to spend even more money to get the tracks and cars. Got a little overwhelmed by the pricing.

I put together a decent computer for it, and run it on the same 52" screen I use for GT5. But when just racing random people, I couldn't tell if a win was a good accomplishment or not.

I was considering giving it another shot this week. The computer is right next to the ps3 on the rack, so it literally takes 1 second to make the switch from GT5 to iracing.

A small touch is no problem.

There's no problem at all with the track limits here.. Just go as fast as you can. The chicane is designed som that if you cut it, it won't gain you time.. So this race is easy when it comes to track limits.

Only thing that we will not tolerate is to cut the chicane to overtake. That's about it.

Cool, we would have lots of penalties to figure if small touches were prohibited. And driving with the fear of touching is a massive pace killer at least for me.

I'm having a hard time reaching 32's.. Guess my hopes for a high 31 is out the door..

Hmmm.. after a good 20 minute session today, the best I could muster was a 33.1 with no ballast. I haven't messed with any of my suspension settings(same from Suzuka). I also haven't messed with the transmission gearing at all this season(only top speed).

I wonder if there is anything more in the tuning? The car actually feels quite nice, except for the tire destruction which Dennis noted.

I knew from the beginning of the season that this track would not be a NSX track. I just hope I can quali well enough for the main.

Eddie turned a 32.1 in an Epson prior to season start.
Granted I believe that was running 550HP, but still a clunky 1150KG car.

After a 10mn "practice" with the La Sarthe setup (just changed the Gear Ratio, lol), I managed a 32.8. So I think it's possible to catch a 31.9 with our YMS supra

And i'm going to quali me later than usually cause I'm very busy this week. Hope it'll be ok for Thursday or Friday

Adam PM'ed me that he's switching to iRacing the other day. Sad, really..

But yes, if it's possible, just remove all race % completion points.
Bonus points for pole and fastest laps stay as usual.

I know it's probably a seriously annoying thing to do, so if it's not possible, or if you don't have the time right now, just leave it for later.

I was in the same boat, but I've been playing fairly solidly again since Christmas. Now that I'm out of the rookie/D class races the quality of the racing has been superb (apart from last night when a gang of MX5s tried to maul me from behind...). I'm starting to work on getting into the V8 series, which is probably the most comparable to SuperGT. The car is a real challenge to drive.

The only reason I will be turning GT5 on is to race in PURE. iRacing is expensive as hell and lacks a lot that GT5 offers, but the online systems and racing experience are second to none.
