I like the safety car because in an accident like that, several people's races are ruined because the leaders can just keep going. It spreads out the field and the race becomes a bit boring.

You bunch the field back up, damage repaired, and continue the fight. đź‘Ť

Definitely wished we had that as an option today. With bumper cam, I had no idea what had happened up front, so I could only hope that the track wasn't blocked.

yeah... only do-able with an eye-in-the-sky though. unless it's crazy obvious like the le sarthe D2 race.

Got about 10 laps in with only a gear change. 1:58.049 which, compared to last year's numbers, is just as I expected given my usual performance.

I'm going to Q near the front... for D2.

We have all week to practice. This is it guys! The home of Super GT and JGTS every one get ready for their toughest fights ever, all 300 KM's!

Initiate legendary mode, we've reached everest 8)

Sorry I couldn't make it to the race guys, my power went out Saturday night and since I live in such a small place no one gives a 🤬 about it, I had to wait until today to get it back.

I hope so, I might not be able to qualify since I am away on Saturday, but since I am going to be in D2 anyway, so what's the point? :D

I'm back from Copenhagen.. Still not capable of doing any practice just yet. Need another good nights sleep before I do.
The Suzuka race will be epic, and I can see a really tight Q comming up.
To be sure of D1, I guess you need to set a 1:57.XXX.

It's one of those tracks where many of us have done a countless number of laps, and countless number of laps to really maximize our performances.
Looking very much forward to this. đź‘Ť

Nice to see you're back in one piece and getting ready for Suezookahhh

Looking forward to this race. Suzuka is such a great track, nice flow in it, which makes a longer race very enjoyable.

Also think the D1 cut will be in the 57, my guess is not that deep though but around 1.57.750

Well I just have no luck in this series. First I'm late for Q, then I do my quali which would get me in D1 but with the 2% penalty I fell down to 10th in D2.
Had a great start, from 10th to 4th in 5 laps and gainig on the leaders as I was fastest in practice before D2 race was feeling quite confident. Then just before cathcing the slip from Mich in 3rd I got disconnected! :dunce: It would probablly be a very close race in D2 between us, a shame was really looking forward to some side by side action.

Really looking forward to Suzuka its an epic track and I usually do well here. Hoping for a better result this time around. See ya in Japan!

Just looking at the points if i didnt quit in Nurburg i would have a decent lead in 2nd , oh well no quitting from me next season .

Thinking about taking the day off. If so anyone interested in Suzuka practice?

Edit: ignore my post. I got parts to do. Ugggh forgot.

Btw Sken, congratz on the win! Great stuff! đź‘Ť

Thanks mate , surprised I was the only one that tried a 1 stop .

Surprisingly i was able to still do 49s on 20 lap old tires on a good lap ofcourse , bad laps were 50s and an occasional 51 .

Not a big fan of Motegi either but its good to win a race in a PURE league .

Cant wait to get invited to a next JGTS .

Not the only one;)
In race I know someone is on 1 stop becouse we where driving similar times at the end of first stint.Think I was 10s behind you when I pitted lap earlier than you.
But you had a batter pace and save your tires much better.

For real??? That's crazy what kind of lap times was you seeing at the end.

1:52's?

I had damage from Turns 1 & 3, lap 1. Cruised until Tony passed me and he dove for pit road on lap 11 so I followed him. Topped off the fuel tank and went to the end...

Sounds like a mixed race for some but nice to see some having really nice races and also well done Ant on collecting his first podium :), no easy task indeed.

On my not showing as I said I was 20/80 on making it and well... I ended up doing my shift from 12 till 8:30pm my longest shift ever . I did though when on a delvery in the snowy culdesack roads, at precisly 6pm, wheelspin/rev up the engine and flash the lights like a pretend start I dunno lol.

Hope you guys have fun at Suzuka maybe there will be sometimes I can pop in from time to time in the future :).

1 stop was really only a *good* idea in the GTR or HSV.

From what I saw in practice both cars were wearing the tires very evenly. Where as the SC430 and Z have a tendency to eat the rears, which gets exponentially worse as the imbalance makes the rears wear faster and faster (the problem compounds itself as worn tires beget more wear). I'm convinced this is just a product of them having fat low end torque so the more slow-corners to power out of the faster the rears get chewed up (seems to be consistent regardless of 2.08, 2.09, setup, or driver).

+ from a pit-time perspective the difference was minimized by not needing to take more fuel than the time spent on the tire change. IIRC I did one 1'50 the whole race and that was due to my own mistake. On the last laps of the 2-stop stint the car was still good for 49.5 pace.

Last laps of the race I was reeling you in by 1s per lap. If I hadn't busted my car and limped through the first stint I expect the 2-stop would have put me right in the podium picture at the end. (IIRC when I came out from my 2nd stop I was 30s behind and closed it down to 12 by the end) .

Rears wore more than fronts for sure , what was interesting is Anthony had worse wear than Simon . Thats how i got past Anthony he started to struggle with the rear.

They must be running different setups or just different driving styles.

Anthony made his car really wild so he could get that 48.4 in Q. ;)

I'm not racing this week guys and to be honest I think this will be my last series on GT5 it's been racing with you guys I think for a year now but yeah maybe I'll see you on GT6

Ah no! Having karting?

But quitting GT5, why?

To be honest, most of the guys racing here are kind of quit from GT5 already, only getting together for this series you know?

Well, you're always welcome for JGTS 3 man. If you're still not feeling it by then then I suggest you listen to whatever your dad suggests :)

Yeah there'll be something to fill in the gap time from Pure though. Dom's working on a certain series that may come up.

Also, Jason has a few good ideas as well.

There's a few things we can do.

I'd like to start it in late February/early March yes.
