Is it possible to convince we do some qualifying?
Some of us enjoy it, and it gives us that standard preseason rundown to familiarize the drivers with the process. Come to think of it, I don't think it should be any other way.

I would love to race both races, but don't have time. Too much studying to do. It's midterm time.
Which race is first? Indy I assume? How do you guys want me to manage only getting in one race? I guess I could get in the race room and hang around until the second race...if GVS is second that is...

There is currently a maximum number of 33 drivers (teams of 3 in ten cars + an additional team of 3 in the second HSV team), but we have the contingency of adding one more car to the line up to make 36 seats available, so there'd be 4 spots left and 7 drivers looking to audition for their seats anywhere between now and the pre-season race, which they're free to enter.
We may end up having 12 teams cars for a total of 36 slots for the first race. Now obviously there's only a maximum or 32 slots available (two rooms of 16) on raceday so the first race will have to act as almost a qualifier in that, if there do end up being 36 drivers, 4 drivers won't be able to race that day. Now if they'd like, they can continue on and try again for the next week, so there's that.

The HSV will be streaming live in two hours. I'll post a link in the OP and in the thread so you guys can come watch me pull some virtual names out of hats.
This is the plan for the weekend: we will send every confirmed driver PM's late on Sunday asking to fill out a form for their car choices (3 most desired). That's so people can get their impressions of the cars they used in the race to make final decisions. Then Dennis and I will meet to make sure the output of Tim's algorithm makes up sufficient teams. Also, drivers for the two weider teams (Otōto and Shimai) will be assigned by hand by Tim (since he's not in the lottery, he'll have to even out the teams subjectively).
Teams and car assignments should be confirmed on Monday. Then qualifying will be open.
If anyone has any questions about the ins and outs of our qualifying, race format, or anything at all, now's the time to bring it up!

Like it says, you can either audition by taking part in the pre-season race or request to be auditioned before hand at any time. I may be able to catch you later on today, but there are going to be practice rooms being posted up here as well you can join if that suits you too.

Updated my post last post detailing confirmed drivers up there (#401) so make sure to read it again.
Just wanted to make another update concerning the car distribution for the upcoming pre-season race this Sunday. We are going to set the rooms by hand in order to keep an even spread of different cars in each room. In other words, we don't want a bunch of the same car in one room because it wouldn't do much for especially testing our new specifications.
