Sending out PM's for car selection in a minute. HSV lottery drivers will not be receiving the PM, fyi.

Got mine and completed it , did it from a mobile but it should be fine

Still shocked no one else pitted at GVS

Most all of us pitted in our race in Room A GVS. But most didn't pit for Indy.

Car decisions ???

Before yesterdays pre-races I was torn between the GTR and Lexus (petronas, denso).
Yesterday was my first race with 2.08 and it confirmed to me some changes in the handling. The rear end is more stable with 2.08. I did a race about two months ago at GVS with the Petronas and didn't have any front tire wear issues and yesterday with a setup more lose in the rear in the GTR, major front tire wear. After this race I ruled out the Lexus which has a natural understeer built in.

But I didn't know that reducing downforce is allowed. That might do the trick for the Lexus, reducing rear downforce to make it turn better. And help top speed as well.

But its hard not to pick the GTR. It can hardly be wrong. But in the other hand, I don't think the Lexus will be popular, so it be kind of a cool choice.

Car decisions

Just filed my picks.

When I was looking at the options, it struck me how amazing the cars really are. All of them are strong, and viable options. 👍

Johan: I also felt like the fronts was wearing way more compared to pre 2,08. At GVS it's understandable, but never had such issues at Indy before.

You guys need to give me that Lexus tune

It doesn't exist any longer.

Pre 2.08 I could take a GTR set-up, use it on a Lexus by increasing front ridehight by 5 (or decrease rear RH) and the cars felt the same to drive and the Lexus was just a little faster on most tracks. If I do this now they don't feel the same and the GTR is a bit quicker (for me).

So I think how to go about tuning a car has changed. I used ridehight a lot before and even if still works in a similar fashion I think it is now less effective. Got to find some other way of finding a good setup and with it the Lexus might be faster again. Just don't know how.

A number of driver's did pit at GVS, but I guess you were the only one from the lead pack, although for the 23 laps we did, instead of 21, a pit would have been a good strategy I think and 1/2 a lap more and you would have passed me ;)

Car picks are done and I'd be happy with 1 of 6 cars :)

Yes, it "seems" as though small ride height differences (3 to 6mm diffferences) do no have the same impactas pre 2.08.

Pre 2.08 these differences witha good balanced setup would result in fairly obvious changes (to how a car felt or a car's traction / grip level).

When 2.08 came in, I tested cars I knew well (i.e. driven without change for months) I used cars with a stock 0 / 0 ride height and tried ride heights like -6 / 0 & 0 / -6.

The expected traction differences were no where near as big as pre 2.08.

When I tried differences far greater, i.e. -20 / 0 & 0 / -20 the expected differences were alot more obvious, aswell as the expected affect on handling.

The 20mm differences after 2.08 seemed to have about the same impact as what the 6mm differences had before 2.08.

Anything around 3/6mm (depending on car / tyres / pp etc etc) almost seemed to be worthless with some cars. Cars on a knife-edge of power / grip levels would probably feel it more though whereas cars with low power / high grip didn't feel it hardly at all.

But, keep the ride heights level and with a decent balanced setup, lowering a car 5/6mm (from stock 0 / 0) can have an impact..

2.08 is a can of worms though, haven't seen anything that explains 100% exactly what happens in every situation for every car. Pre 2.08 it did, post 2.08.... ????

Hope this makes some sense?!?!

I only really want the Nismo Z, so I just randomly inserted numbers in to the other boxes. Hopefully I don't get stuck with something strange like the Supra. :P

Can someone from race A please post the results?

I didn't grab the first replay. I did grab second replay and will get those results up this evening if no one else has.

On the first replay don't watch lap 23 please :ouch:.

Well watch it bit ignore my car. LoL I thought I would hit Nige and said nope not happening. Already tapped Pag. So I drove into barrier to stop my car from causing Nige damage. Paul, so sorry. You followed me right into the barrier. :(

Also I'm dropping the HSV. The car and me don't fit together. I can't extract the speed. Two laps in my Motegi tuned Calsonic I run over a second faster then my HSV. So set out to match my GTR time. I came with .3 tenths of it. Took about twenty minutes and I only hit that once. Rest was well over .5 slower. Now the GtR times. First lap out 27.8 second lap 27.3. Plenty more in the car too. I got a mid 26 in me with a GTR. No way I could think about a 26 in HSV. It has to e pushed and well that will lead to heart ache with my inherent ability to make mistakes. LoL

Besides. GTR sounds better and Feels beastly. More fun to drive for me.

So again. I opt out of HSV. Fillin out car selection sheet now.

If this isn't ok. I'll stay with HSV as always. I work with what's easiest on the coordinators and group.

Cant believe Pag won with damage , makes me feel inferior but my tires just went :(

Did you see the tap I gave him. It shouldn't caused either of us damage. We was crawling slow and barely touched.

OMG Lotto, who is gonna be the next HSV winner. That car has potential. I just don't have what it takes. ;)

Who is putting their name back in. Mich for sure. He is All about that car.

Jeff, you can swap cars with someone who got a car that you'd like, and if he want the HSV, you can swap cars.

We do need to keep the teams balanced as well on top of that though.

Only 24 drivers have submitted their choices so far.
We'll start sorting the cars fairly soon, so make sure to fill the form asap.

Finding a guy willing to part with his GTR maybe difficult.

We're missing 4 drivers in total.

Jeff: I might swap cars with you if I get a GT-R. 👍

I just deleted his picks so we don't have any HSV owner pollution.

we're at 25 (+6 HSV) = 31
Missing CSL and Aderrrm ... + how many else?

Nissman..
PureGT_Kevin?

Very interesting wish lists btw.
I think this will work out pretty well. 👍
