two tires must remain in contact with the tarmac racing surface at all times and within white-line course boundaries. The preceding defines the "track." Curbing/rumble strips, hard surfaces beyond white lines such as concrete, "greencrete", or turf and other run off is not considered to be track.

I have a question just to be absolutely clear about this. Does this basically mean, that the outside tires may not touch the white line on the inside of a corner?

I'm asking this, because the definition is talking on the one hand of "within white-line" and also of "beyond the white lines", but not actually of the white line itself.

It basically means "two on the kerb and two on the pavement" rather than "two on the kerb and two on the dirt". The line is in-bounds as it is in pretty much every sport.

The only difference from this and the "old time attack boundary" is that the kerbs are NOT track. They can be used but not abused.

Big thanks to my teammates , both of them shared setup with me , meshed it with mine just got a personal best of 36 6xx

Progress :)

I think from now on, if anyone here is watching my qualifying runs, and I go off the track in a manner that will DQ my time, please say something. I'd rather not put forth the effort to finish that lap.

I probably won't get any more track time until Saturday, see you guys then.

Stewards does'nt use the chat during a Q run.
You're on your own once Q starts..

Is there a reserve list or any room for a late entrant?

We have a Swedish guy who is very interested, he races in our GT1 series and is pretty fast and consistent - he's looking for more competitive / organsied racing especially GT500s.

I've breifly explained to him about PURE and he's very interested..??

Well....then I'll just make the decision myself.

Ehmmm, ok...

We've always said that use the chat during quali is a big no no.
Apart from randoms or regulars joining, the chat is supposed to be none.
It's been working without any problems for 2 years, until now..

Am I too late to join this? Reserve list? I took a break from gt5 after GATE but I am starting to get warmer feelings about it again and this is going to be a great series that I'd love to drive.

New additions is something we have yet to discuss. Later in the year we can use new people to fill in for drop-outs. But right now all seats are full. I have an idea but it would need to be ratified by all of management.

oh, noes... didn't we send you an invite ???

It really depends on where you're at. Straightaway? Fine. Long sweeping corner? Usually fine. Exiting a tight corner like T1 at Fuji. Totally not fine.

Randoms hardly join and it will be very unlikely that they will join in the 4 mins for both hot laps , no ones ever asked to change it before.

Hey Simon,
Great to see you back, hopefully there will be a seat for you.

Any tips for Sector 3? Right now I can complete Sectors 1 and 2 and make it to the hairpin around 5 tenths away from Adam. But I'm losing around 8 tenths on that last sector! Obviously it's not only a matter of skill, and I'm surely doing something wrong. If I lose half a second with Sectors 1 and 2, I would expect to lose another half a second on Sector 3, at worst!

After practice today i have the car feeling good in sector 3 ( hardest sector to me ) but now the car does not feel very good in sector 2 . I guess I will have to deal with it .

Thanks again to the teammates .

When I race Fuji, I always make my gearing such that, I don't have to shift gears at any point through turns 12-16. Much nicer to concentrate on your brake/acceleration points without having to shift gears. That might help with time.

I need to talk to him, send him here. Easy link to give is http://bit.ly/purejgts2

If we see him really jump at the opportunity by signing up and introducing himself on this forum then we can accommodate him. We'll need to put him through a slight screening process, not really an audition, but something else, not a big deal. This is because we're really gonna have to work the system to make him work. And he needs to be absolutely dedicated for it to be worth it, so we're on your word H :)👍

Man! You're one of the most wanted drivers! Was hoping you'd come along. Of course you're good to go sir. Check the JGTS section of gate19.

I'll be ashamed to admit I'm using Automatic gears (can't use manual, apparently, I can't do it on GT5, I suck with this). So I guess that particular bit is not a problem. I'm aware using manual gears would help with other stuff and make it faster overall, but... I simply do not have the time to get enough track time with manual gears not to embarrass myself on the next race. So in the end it never happens...

tl;dr: I suck

Simon! 👍 Hope you're joining!

Does this GT have the option of holding a gear with a button? I seem to recall a racing game. Thought GT had this option.

GT4 had this! And I was very angry to find out GT5 didn't have it, for this reason  !

Simon (cicua) is taking a seat in the PETRONAS TOM'S team.

PURE note: Simon is one of the cleanest, fastest and most fair drivers we've ever had. He's well known for his commitment and ability to communicate and contribute.

We welcome him in to JGTS 2 with open arms!

WELCOME Simon!!

And yes, he's Scandinavian! :D

Welcome good sir. Changing the team list now 👍 You're on GT5 with GTP_cicua mostly right?

Note:
He is replacing Nissman. When Nissman comes back with a new PS3, we will accommodate him. Until then, we'd rather fill every seat we can with drivers that can race now.
