One thing to keep in mind qualifying in a lounge, the chat box could still be an issue because unlike a lobby room there is no way to know if a race is underway.I would create a specific "Q" lounge capped at 2-3 so the room is full when a session starts.

After 2.08 came out I went back and checked to see if the tire temp bug was fixed and the results are mixed.Based on what I found testing it in my lounge.

1. Fuji Speedway F - bug isnt an issue
2. Laguna Seca - 👎👎 the worst
3. La Sarthe - 👎
4. Monza - 👎
5. Nurburgring GP/F - 👎
6. Spa - 👎
7. Twin Ring Motegi - 👎
8. Suzuka - slight difference but not bad.

Pure lounges will need to be reset to the track of the week and in all but the first and last round the track should not be "reset" or the room will be dead.

So for your qualifying run. Let's offer the driver the option of opening his own room. Steward joins. 2 man or 3 man if two Stewy's are to enter.

This will be the 100% fool proof way to avoid randoms and text box pop ups

I'll be using this option for my run. Practice in the main room. When ready ill ask someone to follow me into a room I'll go make. Then have a nice Q session with no interruptions.

The private rooms are to flaky still. IMO. We have Accounts made for PURE when this was suggested last JGTS. Never got implemented. Which makes sense with it being a bit inconsistent.

Might try to qualify later , my pace is quite off havent made it in the 36s yet but i know my race pace will be stronger

Wanna meet up and share tunes? I'll be on this evening/night. EST time zone well after 9:30 I've got a practice session for SNAIL* So up till then I'll be practicing and if things go well make my Q.

* - (if you got Sunday from 10pm-12am EST free and want to race, this layout is a load of fun, serious but not on a JGTS level of time investment, clean with a penalty system, aliens have invaded too. Love to get some of you guys racing Sunday)

I don't promote much but this really is nice change from the super serious racing we normally do. Three cars. Three tracks. Revolving car and track weekly. If you want verity and good clean racing. Join the fun Sunday.

Paging Mule:

Did you try that Supra tune I posted? Wondering how it felt for ya. It turns and turns well now. ;)

Haven't tried it yet, but I do plan on it. Fuji is one of my weaker tracks, so I doubt I'll get much useful info.

that sounds familiar.

BTW after triplets finale on Saturday I'll be turning the room into JGTS Quali if anyone in triplets wants to practice and quali Saturday evening.

Anyone got any tips for the Z in Sector 2? Someone had set a fast time of 36.606 last night and I could green Sector 1 by a tenth, but then I would lose 4-7 tenths in Sector 2. In Sector 3 I could gain a couple tenths back.

Thanks for all the suggestions about going to a cross-format lobby system.

We used one in WSGTC and it proved to be a satisfying method of keeping people out of practice rooms. WSGTC had practice and qualifying in the lounge, then the races were held in public lobbies because of the better ability of them to handle larger groups of racers.

We're definitely not allowing the use of private lounges to set qualifying times. Practice all you want in them, but you must qualify in a public online lobby or the times will be disqualified. Two good reasons for this:
grip changes depending on who's hosting the room and we'd have to deal with the ear-bleedingly annoying tire temperature bug which Iforce described in his post above.

I'm sorry but we need to keep things consistent, that's more important over anything else.

IMO it's more effort to deal with the lounges than for me to just ignore the chat box.

If it matters to you open a 2 person room and ask the steward to join it.

Great option! Make a 2 or 3 person public lobby and it'll be perfect. But totally optional, optionally, optiona... oppa public lobby style.

I might appear later on, was running high 36's earlier today and I think 35's are possible if I can get the tune right.

I ran Q today. Just need someone to post my slow time. :dunce:

Who watched it?
What was your time?

In general, the one who spectate a Q run post the times here. And then ofc add it to the pure racing site.

Great, just great

I really, REALLY should not be testing today. Driving when you're not on the mood is not good at all. But as I don't know when I'll be, I should be testing now. Otherwise, come sunday, I might be running 1:55s or something.

This just in.

New news in the oppa.

News -
10/17/12

Added qualifying deadline countdown timer in OP.

Reemphasized rule:
All qualifying must be conducted in public online lobbies. After discussing the idea of doing qualifying in private lounges in order to avoid race messages impeding qualifying sessions, we decided against the idea due mainly to the fact that qualifying times are subject to change depending on the host. Because lots of different hosts have the potential to run and observe qualifying runs, it is a problem due to the fact that grip levels may change inside the room depending on who's hosting and what configuration they chose. We need every one to have the same exact qualifying environment and achieve this by only allowing public lobby qualifying. It is not a problem for a group such as the online racing WRS, which hold group qualifying so the group all run under the same conditions.

Qualifying deadline countdown (any qualifying times submitted after deadline will be docked a 2% penalty):

I'd help except I had the exact same problem.

Also, if you do a tire run, can you let me know how your rears hold up? Hearing that others are easily getting 22 laps in is discouraging news.

I know CSL was there and a few others as well. Don't remember my exact time.

:scared:

No way in hell the Z will run a 35. That's for sure.

For reference, Tony ran a 35.8 in the HSV. And that's Tony.
Biffy is my team mate and all, but I doubt he match Tonys time concidering Tonys pace in general, and the fact that Biffy is a tad rusty cause of a significant time away from GT5.
I hope he can reach a 35.. Ofc.

Biffy, PM me your setup!!
My best is a 37,034.. Going to practice more prior Q

The lap was with the Supra bare in mind, so I think it's performance characteristics showed there. The back end of that lap wasn't great and I did manage a 1'36.4 with it after with a better final sector. I guess the Supra can hold a lot of speed through the long right hander I think, which helps a lot in the that sector.

As for 35's in any car, not happening here!

I think it's the fact that we just can't get the power down coming out of turn 7.

I think I remember CSL saying it was a 37.1xx something...
I knew it was in that area but I have no clue what the last two numbers were.

I need to find a solution to the rear tire issue without sacrificing lap times. Not sure there is a plausible one given the circuit.

The Supra has more downforce than any other car. If there's time variation in a sector that is dominated by a high-speed corner the Supra will always skew the sector target.

Drive any car at Spa, then switch to the Supra. You'll notice the extra wing immediately in Pouhon and Blanchemont.

I spent some time last night raising the gear ratios, lowering the accel LSD, increasing the braking LSD, added some rear toe and fiddled with the downforce some. It's still tail happy but better than when I started. In fact, it understeers a tad on entry. I'll keep that in setting A, and add yours to setting B and give it a shot. Maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow. Still angry about last night, don't feel like driving the car for a while.

Tony has run 35.7 and Aderrrm 35.4 that I have seen :scared:

Great example of why I DON'T want to be in room A.
