I'm still miffed at what happened. I ran a 36.660 in practice and was pumped to try and back it up in qualifying, then the random happened. But whatever, nothing I can do about it. May put me in the B group which is fine with me.

Something needs to be done about the randoms. Maybe the host of the room should have other people watch the Q laps and the host stays in the lobby, so when someone starts to load in and they are not part of our group, kick them instantly.

@Tim
of course, I just wanted to put it out there. The "coming soon" bit should let them know to be patient as I am :)

At least with you guys posting times, I'll have a target/goal. I practiced last week at Fuji and ran some high 38's...so I've got some work to do. Thanks to CSL for the tuning advice!

Fyi, I noticed on the PURE site that the Petronas and DENSO SC430's are labeled 2006...but they're 2008's. It doesn't matter though...just noticed it.

Something else I may have missed is why nissman isn't appearing on the PURE site in our Petronas team. Is he not registered?

The SC430 Super GT chassis is a 2006 in GT5 with a 2008 livery.
You'll notice that I marked a couple chassis like that. The 2006 liveried 350Z is actually a 2004, the '97 painted Supra is actually a '95.

And about Nissman, you're correct. He'll be joining us after a couple rounds. Team structure's awesome isn't it?

Sorry to hear that. But what you're suggesting is about the best thing we should do. Owen's suggested process is a little much in my opinion, but of course people are free to do it that way if they wish.

It's just that, to me, (and yes I know this is easier said than tolerated) this is just part of our qualifying method. We've always had to deal with randoms, even regulars coming in screaming hey without realizing a session's started.

But yeah, although, you never know man! Qualifying's just started, let's wait and see the lay of the land before we start talking divisions.

Maybe we should scream at PD for a fix. :P Something like, if you're on track you won't be able to see the people in the lobby talking. The message box won't appear unless someone needs to talk to a driver on the track specifically, and they would have to do that by entering the track themselves or going into watch race mode. Simple solution! But no......this is PD we're talking about.

Anyone with a Calsonic GT-R want to trade? :/

Had that as #1 and even though there's 2 teams, I still didn't get it.

You get good teammates in Wiifreak and GV.

Not sure if you were interested in my XANAVI GTR or not, but I'm going to stick with it anyway.

The Supra is a great option and I managed a 36.4 with it tonight and was also able to stay below 1'38 for 15 laps without holding back at all.

@ Jason - It was a tough break tonight, but I think your idea of the host being a 'doorman', so to speak, is a good idea.

Not a big deal, just saying. 👍

I'm going to make an HSV low aero/Fuji tune tonight, maybe something else if I have the energy.

Would be very interested in any of your findings. You know, since we're teammates and all... :sly:

I was already using the setup you posted the other day with 514hp/1109kg/DF36/54 yesterday and managed a 37.2 (full tank) and 36.9 (half empty). Made final gear quite a bit longer though (more for the race than for qualifying). The good thing was, that I didn't have to use 6th on the back straight before the chicane. Was able to brake later there because of it.

Also did a long run and it should be good for one stop. Great balance already, also towards the end of the stint.

Eddie: The BANDAI is listed @ 612 PP in the OP, but it should be @ 610 PP. 👍

guys, unfortunate, I'm going to have to bail out of the series, for me the events take place early Monday morning, around 3.30am, which wasn't a problem last week as I was working night shift so I didn't start work until 3.30pm my time, but from now until christmas I'm working the market shift which can sometimes run through the starting time of the race, so I would be late, if I made it at all,

But you guy's really took the cake on this, if it weren't for a few connection problems at the beginning of the event it would have been 100% perfect! all spec's done smoothly and swift, and the racing, well I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I had hoped, up to 6 seconds slower a lap, you guy's are insane fast, but then again, for intense professional racing you guy's "PURE" are always strongly recommended, and I wont be shy in sending a few "know it alls" your way to put them in their place, keep it up,

Just a thought with regards to 'randoms' entering a room and causing a distraction during qualifying. Some series use a dedicated 'Lounge' where people can enter for practice at any time, just by creating a new PSN account. In this case, create an account called PURE_JGTS then send friend requests out to everyone in the series from it. The room can only be accessed by friends at any time without the account being ONLINE. All practice and qualifying could be done here with no 'randoms' able to join.

All qualifying would have to be done in this lounge for fairness and for me, I don't feel any difference in physics between an open lobby and players lounge. If people feel it's 'different', then I understand they wouldn't want to practice in one, then race in another.

Thoughts?

Just a quick off/on-topic remark, because many people here might be interested. DTM & Super GT have agreed on common regulations from 2014 onwards.

Comparison of regulations here.

Great idea - other sites use this.

Even better, create 2 rooms - PURE_A & PURE_B so the races can be held there too.

No need to post room no's etc, just have both on your friend's list.

Not sure if it's true, but supposedly private lounges have less issues with "black/frozen screens" etc too - allthough the guy who posted that didn''t stipulate how many peole were in the room, so it might be true or it might be no different to public lobby.

The only problem with race rooms, is you can only get 15 in them as the lounge takes up 1 spot I believe (example PURE_JGTS_A + 15 others)

True. We tested that on the weekly WRS. One could race with the room's account, but that would be awkward.

I thought the physics between lounges and lobbies were still slightly different....

The best solution would be for PD to make an option to turn off the text box. Problem solved! I'll tweet Kaz...see what's up. Ya know, we're cool.

If anyone wants to do any testing on it, we still have the WSGTC-PAL-1 account. We did seem to have more lag problems in private lounges during WSGTC, paulmac and hellboy really suffered.

Pail?.... You making fun of me cause I is Scottish? :P

Public lounges are better they say but for practice i dont see anything wrong using a private lounge .

I haven't raced in lounges in a while, but my experience was that achieving PB's was doable but much harder. Not sure if that has changed, but it's worth testing out.

LoL ... maybe I'm optimistic for our longevity?

I still have to re-make that graphic for season 2, so I'll have to fix that fat-finger error as well. Thanks. 👍

I had actually heard lounges were quicker  go figure.

Depends on the lounge and the host. Mine is always quicker.

I guess that works out since you're not on a team... or are you using an alternate name here?

I ran Q today. Just need someone to post my slow time. :dunce:

I didn't see it in the thread... who was there?

I was in a league where we did transition from public to private launge. We did dedect a slight difference, I forgot exactly what but I think in private launches the front tirewear was a bit stronger so the balance was a little different. Very very little though.

This is however more that six months ago and things could have changed with all the updates.

I think we should race and qualify in the same kind of lounge. I'm happy either private or public.

You guys should go the route of a lounge!! We do this in my NASIOC/RX-8 Club series. We tend to have less black screens and problems getting in the room and or getting kicked. Just make sure the host of each room has the best Internet connection and hardwired PS3's go along way to ensure the most stable game play. And so no other jerkoffs not in the series join the room!!

Ditching v8s for 4-bangers?

This was my other thought as I was laying in bed last night. :P

Hmmm, I tried going into different people's lounges and I'm always at the top?

No other ID appears - or does the private lounge auto re-size to a max of 15 so either way, 15 is max??
