If I qualify outside the top 32, I would be looking to race for fun, maybe even open a spot race thread to ask for interested drivers to join. I honestly think we will have 32 or less drivers qualifying each week.
Room 1 should always be for 16 drivers IMO, as this is the pinnacle of online gt5 racing.

Don't know - having to "fight" for a place isn't what I was expecting, or what I was after for a weekend race..

I got enough to do with 400+ members and organising / stewarding 5 nights a week as it is, weekend is my chill time, having to put extra effort in to "make the cut" wasn't really what I was looking for...

I just wanted a well organised race that meant minimal effort for me owing to my other commitments.

I'll do some laps in a little while, see how it goes...

If 37 drivers were going to show up every week, it could be irritating for guys on the brink, but they won't.
Worst case-scenario is 2-4 drivers don't make the cut the first week or two, by three weeks in we'll probably be less than 32 each week, hoping for high 20's-30.

Can't build the series for more drivers then we'll have.
 
Cool down guys! I would be surprised to see 32 actually qualify AND show up. For any number of reasons there is always someone missing.

Just get a Q on the board, any Q time is better than none, and be prepared to grab a last-minute absence spot at worst. Remember that you will always have priority to people who do not Q at all. 👍
 
I understand the possibility that some might not make it, but what about those who are "on the brink" but can commit attendence to all races?

We're commmited, but may not race because others who cannot commit might turn up and be quicker??

Surely those who can commit, or have attended all races, should get priority if there's a lack of spaces?

EDIT: Why can't those who can't commit or miss races be the "reserve" drivers, and they are the ones who can't race if there's a lack of space?

I just feel that's a bit unfair and that wasn't how I thought the series was run, I was under the impression that once someone was registered - they raced. Only thing to be determined is where they''d start and in which room.

Something as important as missing the race you've spent alot of time getting ready for should be highlighted so all members can be aware of this. Possibly, this made clear pre-registration too?

I guess poeple are gonna look at this and say I'm just being a pain in the butt, or something similiar..

I honestly mean it, no anger, no animosity or sour grapes, I just feel that this probably isn't going to be right for me..

Probably best if I leave it be...

Dammit!!! been DC'd from the room i opened. Snowcrash is in. He's not far to be ready for his Q but i can't rejoin the room (error 268). There's no steward in the room right now. Can someone helps plz?

Thing is, that prior round 1, it's hard to tell who'll show and who will not..
No shows and drivers that are not up to expectations when it comes commitment, communication and contribution (the PURE core values) will be dropped. So no problem really..
 
Thanks Litchi for stewarding my (bad) lap!

Would have taken an act of god for me to make division 1 anyway, so it doesn't make much of a difference that I blew it. Just annoying when you know you could be so much faster.

Because there's no way to discern who's going to drop out and why. Real life issues come up, connection problems arise, some will lose interest. Who? I don't have a clue, not me.
 
Highlandor, hope you think this through and race with us Sunday. Then decide your move. I think once you get the race in you might think differently. Hoping anyway. Hate seeing good clean racers leave.

I myself do not look to win any races. If I get D2 pile or top 3 start in D2. Maybe a win is possible. I don't count on it. Just hope for good clean racing with some strategy involved.

I am going to run a 22 lap race to test tyre wear etc, in approx 2 hours from now. I will post the room number if anyone wishes to join.
