I was going for it on my second lap and just took a tiny bit too much from the sandbox and it tore me a new one. I guess I could've had something like a 1:20.8xx or so if I didn't bin it xD

Oh well, it's gonna be a tough race no matter what, at least I got in lots of good practice, and half a distance practice run. My pb fully loaded with fuel is a 1:20.356 on lap 6. At least I got qualifying out of the way, I usually wait till the last second. I went for qualifying this morning because of what happened to me at Fuji. I qualified on Saturday with little practice on the day and got the 1:37.220 when I had been hitting consistent 36.6xx's on mock quali. runs the day before. I should've qualified at my peak on the Friday rather than waiting.

So since I was doing so well today in practice I decided to go for it since I didn't want to make the same mistake. Well, it would've worked had I not been so tired haha. Lesson is: don't overstrategize :s.

Next time, I'm gonna qualify early and with a good night's rest.

I think I have a good shot at D1 though... so we'll see. I just can't believe I'm scared of having a 21.3xx when back in WSGTC that would've been pole-worthy xD

We so fast now mannn

I'm probably going to qualify tomorrow. Even more so now that I'm using MT. I want to do some more practicing today, and get the hang of it a bit more before I actually qualify.

My goal is to do 21.1 or something like that on qualifying, being realistic...

I'll not make Q today..
Can get on tomorrow at 8.00 PM (GMT).. Need a steward please.. My only shot to get a lap in.. Can be on from 8-9.15ish..

Remember the rule. If you're faster than my PB for the week, you're safely in D1...

...but with a 21.1 under me, it's gonna be a nail biter! :sly:

Sorry Adam, I was practicing so didn't see your message, and then went for dinner. I just "got back" :(

EDIT: More updates on my MT progress  . I had a bit of a slope, which I believe is normal when you're learning something. I couldn't get back to my PB and it took one hour and a half to get another 20.9, but upon doing so, I've realised that I pretty much know what I have to do to get a good time. It's a matter of my hands and feet being able to make it happen. And unfortunately, my shaky limbs during qualifying may hinder me again, particularly on a track like Laguna Seca where you're always on the edge. My best splits add up to a 1:20.7, so I still have a bit more in me. Of course, doing the perfect lap is impossible, so...

Tomorrow I'll continue my quest, and only after qualifying I'll start doing some long runs to gain consistency. I want the speed, first of all...

As a related note, I think Laguna Seca is the worst place to make the transition to MT, because of how difficult it is to be consistent already.

I should able to steward for a few hours tonight. Possibly tomorrow morning 8am~11am PST, depending on how many people speak up now.

Just remember. You'll have to create the room for me. You know, my rooms, explodium, bad.

no need to get up early... I'll be on in the morning.

That shouldn't be a problem.

I'm already online, so I'll hop in the next room that opens. 👍

Thanks Rich, I'll see what's going on when I get on and either join or open a room.

Also meant to say, great lap Simon 👍 Hitting that sub' 21 in quali' is good going :)

Still a lot of guys to qualify I see, so I guess tomorrow is going to be busy!!

Thanks Nige! I have practiced every day and it has paid off with pretty consistent 20's. Car setup is about nailed (thanks Dom), I love Laguna, and I can't wait for the race!

But I am certain that I will not start from P2 ;)

Finally got my 20. :)

Xanavi Z: 20.888 | 19.348 | 16.864 | 23.843 = 1:20.943

Even better, I ran high 21s on what would've been my first flier. Now I'm guessing that the cutoff for D1 will be 21.3-5, depending on how many have a slip-up during their Q.

I'm starting to get worried I won't even get in d2 lol.

I don't think I would of made d1 as I was running mid 21s but hey I'm looking forward to fighting in d2 (if I make the cut)
