Tuning: Yes or no?

Is this series "compatible" for European time zone? I'm not exactly sure what the time is, where those time zones are located.

If it is

#1: bombe32 (bombe32): White

It'll be at 10:00 PM (2200) in Denmark. It's pretty much the best time that works for most North Americans as well as Europeans.

For all the reasons stated above I am generally for NO TUNING. However, if the car's handling characteristics are severely diminished by the default suspension settings then it's a tough call for me. The Integra RM, for example, is a dream to drive when RKM's suspension tun is applied. Just messing with the downforce and transmission is too much of a headache for me though lol.

Has anyone spent an appreciable amount of time in the car? How is it's default handling?

I've only taken it out for a few laps (a while ago). I remember it being pretty good, but maybe understeering slightly. I'm not going to have time to test the car this week, so I'd like to hear what others think of it. I'm holding off voting for now.

I'm really surprised by the new format you've come up, Mule. AWESOME!
I the Track list is excellent as well. (Except I wouldn't protest if you switched GVS with another track, like Nürburgring GP/F if you also used Nürburgring Nordschleife instead of Nürburgring typeV. Just an idea.)

Yeah, the reason why I'm leaning towards allowing tuning is simply due to the fact that you can max the downforce.

When I get home from work I'll take the car out again and do some testing before I make my vote.
I really don't understand why people are so against tuning, all it takes is one day of going out and saying "what does this thingy do" with each of the settings and you'll never want to drive untuned cars again. Seriously.
There are no "gimmicks" or "unfair advantages" like people seem to fear, yet nobody tests for them themselves, just continue to assume they "might" be there.
End rant, it just blows my mind how few people really try the stuff out, that's all.

#2: CSLACR (GTP_CSL): Silver / Black

Finally got my number B******!!! :D

Edit: Just read Nastra's post above mine, my post isn't directed at you or anyone in particular, I just strongly suggest you try it out, it doesn't really take that long and it's a great tool for driving pleasure.
And/or I always give out tunes/advice to anyone that wants it anyway.👍

Yeah, CSL is definitely one of the best tuners out there, and he's always willing to share his set-ups/philosophies.

Took the car around Cape Ring Inside, and Nurburgring with the default set-up. It's honestly fine, except for one small thing:

It's verrrrry loose coming out of the corners, especially on CRI. Makes you really hesitant to get on the gas, and frankly, not very fun.

I'm interested
Gik69/gedi69 colour TBC number 69

That's great, but you're going to have to use the proper format if you want in. 👍

Interesting format, and a great choice of car. Personally I'm for no tuning, because it encourages close racing. Although I don't have a problem with tuning the car, I'm just quite bad at it but allowing tuning could encourage people to improve their ability to tune a car. I won't mind whatever option is picked.

Little unsure of joining this series because January is exams time for me, will give it a shot though seeing as it is on the weekend 👍

It's not necessarily being against tuning, it's just another option. Apples and oranges. :) Both options have their pros and cons, but until the "tuning prohibited" option came about we could never really be sure somebody wasn't bringing an apple to an orange party. The whole point of a single car series is to have everyone on a very level playing field and prohibiting tuning just allows it to be even more level. 👍

And for the host, it's nice to be able to start the race without having to wait on people to get out of the tuning screen. Makes things a little more efficient. :)

I'm not sleeping at 22, so as long as it doesn't take 2-3 hours I should be fine. Mondays are rough no matter when you go to sleep anyway, lol.

Not everybody has a day to devote. And with longer races one has to test tire wear every week and retune. Too much time if one does not enjoy tuning.

MULE: I can't commit, but like the RX7 so would like to be on reserves, if you gonna have such a list.

The reason why I prefer NO tuning is because GT5's tuning isn't realistic. Its far off from the real life methods. I can tune the cars but its such a headache, I need to spend the whole week for that. Im basically trying things out at random, because it seems there isnt common sense on GT5's tuning. I remember decreasing the roll bar on the Lotus made the car stiffer instead of the way around. GT5 and its little dirty secrets...

I could go into detail here, but I mostly agree with that, it's not like real life.
Now lowering the swaybars certainly does not make cars stiffer, but that's besides the point.

I like it because almost everything in GT5 under-steers in stock trim, even online. Also as Mule said, this car is quite loose coming out of turns.

Like I said, yes you can be sure. It just takes that effort to see what the different functions actually do on the track.

I guess my issue with it is mainly that it's born out of laziness, people don't feel like learning the game, so they don't want anyone else to be able to do it for fear of the unknown.

Ironically - I like the way this car drives in "stock" trim. But with how loose it is, I think we'll find less competitive racing with tuning restricted, because of how hard it is to drive without max aero.

So with or without is fine by me, but it'll be closer racing in my opinion with it, if nothing else simply for having more control with downforce at max settings.

Just sign up and pop in whenever you can. :)

Will this series have a spec tire?

Racing Hards I assume.

Racing Hard, yes. Don't know how I forgot to specify that.

Also, I highly suggest to everyone to actually take the car out and drive it around various tracks before you cast your vote, if you haven't already.

I'm going to give this series a try. #34: Jay_B_II(Jay2DaB329): light blue\black

Yeah, great event. I'm in

#77: LitchiGTPlay (Litchi_GTPlay): Dark Metal Grey (M) / Isotope Green

Damned!!! I'm really sorry Mule but in fact, the schedule isn't good for me cause Sunday 4pm PST = Monday 1am in France and 9pm PST = 6am.... So i can't participate to your event. :( I'm sad...

Its 9pm GMT are you sure thats 1am in france I didn't think france was +4 GMT.

Just drove the RX-7 round seca and I think I want to change my vote to yes to tuning lol. Don't get me wrong it loads of fun driving it round there but I don't fancy driving it with that setup with 15 other cars on track.

Maybe I'll get used to it but it very easy to end up drifting round corners and I feel I'm scared :scared: to get on the power early So end u short shifting out of corners.

10PM where Litchi is in France I believe guys.
1AM - 3 hours = 10PM

Just drove the RX-7 round seca and I think I want to change my vote to yes to tuning lol.
Mule and I both believe most will change their minds after trying to race one in stock configuration. It's like a wild SuperGT car. SuperGT power but low downforce even when maxed, and only 975KG's. :scared:

Pffffff. My bad my bad my bad. I just don't know read looool.

Ouf, so i'm saved. I'm in for this series. Just hope this schedule is OK with the WSGTC3 (PAL conference...).
I think this will be Sunday. ;)

I think this will be Sunday. ;)

Pffffff. I really need to catch some sleep, I tell anything. I was thinking PURE when i said WSGTC lol. But the PURE schedules are OK with this RX-7 series 👍
