Nice video, but no payoff xD

Who won?

I just started getting some good practice, I really love this combo. The car really responds well under load to the smallest throttle movements, I just love that.

One thing I do a lot differently than you Rich is turn 1, although my S1 time is about the same as your best, I pop into 2nd to get the rear going a bit better on entry. It's not super consistent, staying in 3rd gear would beat it in that respect, but I do get the odd lucky run through it to get a high 15, which is always nice. Such a small sector though that going all out there usually doesn't do one much good by the end anyway. I can get decent laps in even messing up there and getting a mid 16.

Other thing is I attack turn 2 a lot more aggressively, keeping it just under 80 the whole time, it's a very specific line to be able to do it that way though. I also don't brake for the fast S, I think it's more effective to let off the gas a little earlier and be more jerky with the wheel there to let the tires scrub off speed more to get back on the throttle harder.

I was working on S3 a lot and was able to hit a 50.150 on one lap with a great run through that long right. Braking is so important there. I should be able to hit a 49 though, since I messed up turn 11 (the quick downhill left) a bit.

Wow thanks for that Rich! I'm taking completely different lines to that on the video, no wonder I'm bouncing off of every wall! Will give it a good run later.

yeah, missed all the good stuff.
We did 2 draft duels, to get a feel for the understeer and test lines... Rich came out on-top by the usual for spec race @ tokyo .1 in both. FYI, major lesson learned is that defending turn1 with an over-under is a horrible idea. The late-apex line is 1s slower...

Sorry about that was just testing my new capture device and was more concerned about the quallity than the outcome of the race i think Outlaw won or did you just pip him at the post not sure .

I did hit it sluggish in my video. Normally, I carry at least 75. I don't think I can do 80 without using the outside curbs, and those I don't like to use.

Could be a better run off the S + better long right = 50.150. I'd work more on S3, but I'm out of time. Maybe I'll figure it out during the race...

...if I can make it, that is. Hope to have an idea Friday night.

Is there going to be a qualifying room in the near future? Want to do my laps after I get in some practice.

We have had no power since 2am since we got hit with an ice storm. No way I'll be able to get on until we go back up, and I have no clue when that will happen.

Sorry to hear that Steve. Safety comes first, hope things improve soon.

Just finished doing some practice and the best I could manage was a 1:54.390. Sector 3 really isn't my strong point, I can tell that I am losing quite a lot of time there.

Yeah, we're back up now. Gonna try to get the day off work, so I might be on to open a room.

Dr_Watson
looks like also a 90% chance that Eddie will take pole from you again.

I only spent 1-2 hours before I Q'ed, so I haven't had a chance to find more speed. If my time's top 4, then I'll be in the mix.

yep... I did 1.5 hours before you watched me. That's all I ever put in for spec series qualifying. I like to be prepared, but I'm not going to grind out a perfect lap. I hate grinding time trials. I'd much rather get it to 9/10th and then concentrate on the fun part... the racing. 👍

Basse-101: 1:53.836 clean.

Now, I asked basse if he could steward me and I ran a 1:53.595 (lap 2, clean), I just checked the list of stewards and he is not on it. Since I'm a steward (marshal) does it still count. I remember this varies from series to series.

I'd say that's fine. I've never seen a problem with only needing a witness.
