Alright, so starting this week, we'll move an hour earlier, to 20:00 UTC, and starting next week, We'll use the GATE qualifying method of 3 flying laps.

I'll update the OP to reflect that.

I just registered on the site, what do I do next? I've heard a lot of good things about PURE and figured I'd give this a try.

Welcome to PURE
You are registered to race. Anyone can join or open a practice room at any time.
See you on track 👍

Registration are unlimited my friend. All you have to do is to register on our support site here (if you had not already done). Then, you can sign up for the series here 👍
Awesome. I am in the dark green #85. See you at Laguna.

Looks like we're gonna need to switch to 2 divisions at this point.

Advanced warning for everyone. I will likely not race at Tokyo R246 for a very good reason. Let's just say that I had enough of driving with glasses and around that date, and if everything goes right, I'm having that problem fixed for good. :)

Damn I wish I had known that cuz I woulda put more time in qualifying. Was pumped to run with the D1 guys :(

You still have a chance to make it. But make no mistake, D2 isn't less fun at all, racing will be hard and clean throughout.

Thinking about it at work, and since we're using standing starts, I think it may be possible to split the grids by odds/evens, and use the race timer to determine exact positions.

It keeps most of the stress out of qualifying, makes it so that a mistake doesn't screw you out of getting good points, but means less wheel to wheel action with people around your skill level.

What's everyones thoughts?

It's something we haven't tried before, suppose we'll have to see how many people are really racing with us... still only 2 on the Q-sheet.

Problem with using the race timer is that the two rooms are having completely different races. If one group is running faster because they're overtaking less, doesn't mean they would beat the other group if everyone was in the same room.

Lag pretty much prevents combining results from two rooms, but I don't believe that's necessary anyways. We can have two winners, two 2nd place drivers, etc. if we have the final race's field set by points.

If the sign-up sheet has x number of drivers, I usually assume only 80% will show up on average.

Yeah, I'm definitaly waiting until quali deadline before I make a call. It's just something to consider.

I'll be opening/joining a room when I get home. Might quali then.

Will keep an eye out. Need to shake off my rust.

I will be on in about 30 minutes to test at laguna seca. I ran some laps earlier in the 35s so hopefully I will be competitive.

Edit: room open if anyone wants to join: 1472-6118-3658-4758-9430

Edit2: room closed

I plan to qualify tonight. Worst case tomorrow around 3:30pm EDT.

Been a hectic week, trying to button up projects. Got my rear surrounds hung. Surrounds moved and all wires ran. Then under the house. Run wires for them and network cable to Denon. AirPlay is awesome btw. Watching car videos with sound through the stereo is incredible.

Anyway. I'm still around just juggling life.

I am ready to qualify if anyone is available to watch. I am in the room posted above.
