Not really, the car is from Japan and it seems like just about everything I see out of Japan now rock Recaro's.

DKX
I think I found the worst.

What's wrong with Caparo T1s?

That would actually make quite an awesome tow vehicle with a bed instead of covered cargo area and a 5th wheel. And wheels/tires that could handle load.

It's not bad...minus the wing, wheelie bar, 'side pipes' and bullets on the front bumper. Oh, and the search light thing

Wing and wheelie bar are a bit much, but the rest is typical Hot Rod standard. the "Lake Pipes" are meant to be uncapped when you get to a place where you can run open exhaust. These are probably for looks, but you never know...

Six wheels rock. Especially if the extra set actually steers.

I had to google to check they weren't the exact lights and they're not, god knows what they came off!

They look like a cross between Ford Falcon and Ford Laser lights turned sideways (with the top end pointed outboard and the inner end pointed down)... they look awfully familiar but aren't an exact match for any car I know...

Wing, wheelie bars where they are not needed, lake pioes in a modern-styled car, those incredibly big and overdone wheels for a car with such power, the enormous Chevrolet decal on the rear window, the horrid blower scoop, yes, the search light in a modern-styled car, the mirrors under the hood and the ugly flames.

Such potential, tough.

Does anyone know the story behind this car? The site I've found these on is in french and it doesn't say a whole lot.

It was built in New Zealand, I remember seeing pictures and/or video of it probably about 10 years ago. It was built as a hillclimb car, to compete in the now defunct Queenstown Race to the Sky (NZ's Pikes Peak) IIRC. I think it had two engines, either 2x turbo rotaries or two Mazda 1800 BP turbo motors. I'll have a look through some of my old mags and see if I can find anything.

I kinda like them to be honest. I'm sure they're not the best structurally but it's cool to be able to see the mechanics.

Take those and put them on a dragger with some titanium blocks

I think that it depends what vehicle you put those wheels on. The first two and the Z are horrible, but the S-Class is very nice.

Of questionable durability, maybe... but I find that in the case of the S-Class, it's not a matter of questionable taste as much as just being... different. I could see some of today's concepts sporting wheels like that. Gives them that "TRON" look.

PLANE: Who's THIS nerd?

Nerd: Who's yer daddy?

Eww... don't look below his belly... there should be a law against wearing white leotards without underwear.

For men. I think it's perfectly acceptable for young, lithe females.

Glass(polycabrodonate) rims -

Would not stand a chance with the roads we have here in N.E. Ohio.

The Rolling Stones have a song for this application - Shattered :ouch:

Well...it is Plexiglass...but the fatigue strength of that stuff isn't all that good. anyone who drives daily on rims like that is asking for trouble.
