Joey: i wouldn't put big 20 inchers on something like that. it'd probably screw the suspension, and how would you get around outside of glass smooth pavement?

20's would tuck nicely, but you could do 18's. And you'd put the thing on bags, just air it up and roll.

I don't think you would want to use 20"'s where that thing is. Not sure exactly where exactly it is but it's obviously out in the country. Those roads get ignored more than the constitution.

I'm talking about making it a show truck. I agree though, having something like that as a daily out in the country it would be bad...real bad.

Decent rims =/= 20" wheels. All he needs are some nice 18 inchers with some good rubber. Would look a lot better than the stock chrome steelies.

Wonder where in Minnesota he's from?

Prolly more north or west from where I am :P:lol:

I like that truck, just needs better wheels and maybe a matching rear.

well, time for q-mods

freaking Bonspeed wheels I really, REALLY loathe them. They're even worse than Foose wheels. they're worse than Colorado Custom, for Christ's sake:

I HATE street rods. And I hate even more street-rodified muscle cars.

Absolutely. Heh.

mean, look at it. its pearl yellow with purple flames. And lightning inside the flames.

Driving home today I saw a Lancer, the owner has put an Evo look-a-like kit on it (I didn't get a shot from the front) down to the little veins on the roof (that aren't even lined up properly). He just used a simple black bung to plug up the centre hole for the old spoiler.

I have no problem with the idea of modifying a lower spec Lancer (although I wouldn't) but what annoys me is people who try to make their cars look like something they aren't. I mean clearly it was easy to tell it wasn't an Evo (long list including sound, tail lights, head lights, the budget stick on veins, spoiler plug, lack of pumped guards, non sport seats (with TV screens no less), small brakes etc - and that was just from a quick look as I briefly followed it on the road) but this guy even had a personalised plate, with the word EVO on it (I edited the photo, removing the last 2 digits for the sake of this guys privacy)

Anyway, I hope he didn't catch me looking and taking a quick photo, he might have thought I actually liked it haha

Seen a ton like that. The worst part is where they go as far as putting the wider body panels on, along with some really nasty four-stud (FOUR-STUD wheelhubs, yo!) bling-blings (Blang-blang-blaaaaang) that show off the rear drums to best effect.

Just to be cheeky, someone should do the opposite - Evo drivetrain in a standard Lancer bodyshell...

and not the Ralliart, either.

Has been done. Not really pretty, the wheels stick out the sides of the body. And if you convert the 4G63 to front-wheel drive, you get some really pretty (and awfully long and sloooow) burnouts... :D

Works until you get to the Evo 5. The 4's didn't have the wider track. That would be pretty sweet actually. There are quite a few old GSR's and even Mirages with the 4g63 conversions, and they're fast when they're not destroying driveline bits.

All correct. Here in Oz, there was a CB Lancer from BAZ Motorsports with the full 4G63 + 4WD drivetrain back when it was rare to even think of doing something like that (around 1997), and then there was CIDER which is a CE Lancer (Evo 4/5/6 shape) with the full Evo 4 motor but FWD gearbox. There's also a few others like the Proton Satria (which are basically rebodied CC Lancer/Cyborg hatchs) accept the 4G63 without any worries, the Satria GTi already has the 4G93 motor in it and the normal ones have the 4G15 from memory.

Someone please tell me that's not a GT-R badge on a 1989 Ford Laser/Telstar thing... :ill:

It's things like this that make me disgusted to be a Christchurchite :indiff:

You're crazy, street rods are awesome. Street rod muscle cars are even awesome I think because they often get ridiculous engines and big wheels and are slammed to the ground.

You're crazy if you don't think that's rad.

Yes, but it's NOT a NISSAN GT-R badge. I'll let you all guess what car it did came off but (hint time) I assume it's got that particular cars turbo engine that bolts into it with the Laser FWD gearbox that bolts up perfectly. ;)

I'll take everything but the wheels.

I'm of two minds about this kind of build.

Better engine? Check.

Better roadholding? Check.

Better traction? Slightly check... wider is better, but ultra-thin rubber doesn't hook up as well.

Better handling?... hmmm... can you execute a three-point turn with less than six lanes of space?

Yeah, thats the badge from a 323 or Familia GT-R. Quick little car, rare. Heaps of GT-Xs around though

Yeah, once MB posted I realised it was a Mazda badge  Stupid badges looking similar and all >_>

Still a very questionable mod though, especially the green paint (only a Lambo can pull off green paint) and the oversized exhaust. Typical yobbo modifications...

I first wanted to post this in the "Good" thread, but I never got to the point I believed in it:

Lose the rear racing stripes and colour code the wing and I'd rock it, it's an STi. You can't really knock the cars, just their douchebag owners.
