Sick car

I can't understand why people put fake badges (you see it alot of C230/250's with AMG badges) on their car because, to people who dont know cars, it means nothing, and people who actually know something about cars just laugh and think it is dumb
What about those people that bought the cars with AMG sports package?

They don't come with AMG badges though. The sports package simply gives you the alloys with the AMG logo engraved onto them, some brakes and suspension tuning.

And a body kit as well that is amg and the front grille with the three horizontal bars too. Not sure why @Leicht ch thought they had emblems or were actually built and tuned by AMG like their actual performance cars, but they're not. Go look at the Avantgarde versions which are basically what THRT just described, they don't have AMG badges.

I don't think Mercedes use Avantgarde names anymore to differentiate the specs

Yeah they do, Canada is the only place I've read and heard of that doesn't have Elegance and Avantgarde naming as trim levels.

I've seen them here in the U.S. and I know Europe has them in those levels as well, and the AMG Sport package is Avantgarde

Also if it isn't you might want to tell this to stop being an Avantgarde:

That's only been the case in the UK.

In 2012 the Classic trim was renamed SE, while Avantgarde became Sport and Sport Plus. The Elegance option was dropped entirely.

The model you've posted is Australian spec. The traditional trim lines don't apply in the US, where Avantgarde is called 'Sport' and Elegance 'Luxury'.

Also, Avantgarde ≠ AMG Paket. Even though the American C350/300 Sport is equivalent to a European C350/C280 Avantgarde with the AMG package, you can get it on Classic, Elegance or Avantgarde models in Europe.

I never said it was called that here but in general that is what they're referred to in the UK they are seen as such, also he said in general, I wasn't posting up any specific region Avantgarde. Rather I was showing him that they do exist in the modern form wasn't aware that I need to put up a U.S. version.

No one said it did, what we said was that the car comes with AMG styling such as wheels, body kit and front grill. When you buy a true AMG it is actually tuned and given more performance all around. The AMG I was referring to is in line with his reasoning that he thought the AMG symbols meant they had the AMG package.

Based on the quotes above, I still don't think my points missed your post completely. Anyway, there's no use in taking this further.

Considering I just explained why I used that wording due to another user to explain it to them, perhaps you missed my point. If I did miss your point it should be hard to point out where rather than be vague. Point is the AMG badges that are on very non-AMG vehicles deserves to be here in this thread, which @Leicht seemed to question.

And those were all your direct responses to my points compared to the quotes that I contested in my post, so I don't see how that was vague. My points:
  1. You imply the Elegance and Avantgarde naming is used in the U.S. It's not.
  2. You imply that Avantgarde = AMG Package because the AMG Package includes a three bar grille. It doesn't, but Avantgarde does.
I have always agreed with the questionability of putting AMG badges on non-AMG MBs :)

Um no I'm not saying the Avantgarde = AMG, sorry if my wording confused you. What I was saying is what he considers the AMG package on cars that don't have it is nothing more than the sport/avantgarde which gives pieces that you'd see on an AMG but not actually being one.

As for the first point you're right I went back and looked it up and the names Avantgarde and Elegance aren't used here in the U.S. but are offered under a different name. Europe seems to be the only region that offers it, if you had said this prior I would have agreed since you were right and I had put it wrong.

Also you agreeing is fine and what not but that is why we're saying anything in the first place, not to teach him MB history. Just proving that no these cars don't deserve AMG badging cause they were never touched and tuned by AMG to begin with.

In Asia, particularly where I'm living they rename it like in the UK. So that's why.
