I think Polyphony are paying attention, we have two Expert seasonals now. That's really great.

I did a couple rounds of the Spa event and was met with clean players. Luck of the draw I guess.
Haven't been online in a while. What cars can we use for the Spa race?
I noticed that i always playing with japanese ( im from malaysia btw ). Is it fixed region or i can change region manually ?
Tried quick match for the first time yesterday. Very good clean races. Mopped the floor on the first run. Second run was closer, with me making a last corner pass for the lead with no contact. Very nice. Third race was a 4-way battle for the win with me coming in third. Overall I was surprised at the level of skill for being dropped in with a bunch of random strangers, but I realize I won't always be so lucky.
Tried a couple of races last night. No problems with freezing of system.
It is however a demolition derby most of the time. Luckely half of the field makes a false start over and over again so that gets rid of them. In the end had a couple of nice races after the 1 lap mahem.
Still prefer to have shuffle back and the community options as in GT5 so you can quickly see what your friends are doing.
PS: (Off topic) Do like the rest of the update. Sierra time trail is a bit like "Outrun", but at least it is something new.
I won two races tonight and both times while the results were loading, someone who had already finished behind me got moved up to first! The same guy each time and I only got payout for 2nd. What's that all about?
Ok this is new, two dirty drivers took each other out and lost the race at the final straight of the race, letting me win the race.
Anyone noticed that all Quick Match courtesy cars so far are exclusively premium cars? #StandardCarRights

God forbid a nürburgring nordshelifififie quick match is added. For the skill set of typical players, that track is too thin. With the amount of awful driving in all the classes,it should be re-named "Demolition Derby"
Hard to believe they've had what, 7 or 8 years to develop this aspect of the game since it was introduced in Prologue, and this is the best they can come up with:tdown:👎
It's arguably worse than Prologue in that you can't use any of your own cars, and you only get one race with "Professional" physics. At the very best, it's more of the same.
2008 was a good year and all, but damn. What was holding them back from putting this in the release version again? They may have rewritten every line of code for all I know, but it seems like it was time wasted if they just got exactly the same result...
Unstable, actually slower than simply finding a lobby, very limited and with no social interactions this "quick match" is very underwhelming.
Looks like something knocked over the weekend.
It's like they simply writing off the "promised gt6 stuff" off the chalkboard with minimal effort.
"Choose one of this 3 races and repeat them over and over - Fun!"
Are they serious with this crap?
But wait - there's written "coming spoon"
They really need some new talents - the
old squad is just not good anymore.
They seem to be content about game barely working - It seems like this alone is a gigantic success for the team.
This.So far this quick match has proven me to be just a waste of time. If I were ever interested on playing online, it would be much easier and quicker just to go into a public lobby.
This is the problem. They really need some new talents - the

Well said. Its true that the body follows the head. If Kaz encourages innovation and fresh thinking the group will follow but my feeling is like yours, they are very conservative, unwilling to take risks and so the game remains very similar over the years. I don't necessarily fault them because the game is selling but to me it seems the whole QM thing exemplifies this attitude. Throw out the most basic thing possible and keep them happy with the promise of better things in the future. This is the problem.
I've been thinking about it since the release of GT5 (and then later with the second disappointment called GT6).
I immediately felt the game was too much old school, in many ways, starting from how the game presented itself...the little computer-style arrow to navigate through options (I'm so sick of it), the layout, the animations on-screen, the little menu sounds and the majority of menu music
and then the same old GT1 collisions, same old synthesized car sounds and same old annoying tire sounds
and the "hd" versions of the classic Gran Turismo tracks that have very bad textures and just look bland
and the standard cars
and the bad reward system
and the half-assed collaborations with top gear, pilots, brands, racing series etc
and the limited 3 saved tuning files per car
and the absence of a fast tuning on the go (pause the game, tune something, resume the game)
and the absence of a way to exchange tuning files between players
and the limited customization options (and absence of livery editor)
and the complicated multiplayer (slow, not intuitive, incomplete, confused/badly organized)
etc... there are many things
Now this quick match?...To me it looks like one of the first that was ever invented in the early '00. I repeat: for me it is primitive. Nothing that should even be considered today. We're almost in 2015!
I'm thinking of 2 possibilities
1) Kaz and his old squad all think the same, they're all on the same page, and so we're in deep 🤬 trying to give them advise.
2) Kaz wants his game to evolve in many ways and look new, but he's stuck with his old team, and as an old team, some members may still be living in the past, convinced of keeping things like those I listed above (things I don't like but for other people may be different). They're old, don't know how to give a fresh image to the franchise and Kaz doesn't have the guts to fire them or ask them to learn new things, simply because they've become family after 15-20 years together. It's a disadvantage, you can't really put aside someone who has been there for a long time.
Or maybe they're willing to learn new things but they're just not...good....enough. to reach goals and include features we've seen in other games.
Let the new generations take over!! There are so many talented young boys and girls.
Yeah ok they're saying they're doing something about the sounds and taking cv's....but that's just one aspect of the game. What about the rest? The clock is ticking and other franchises are delivering.
my 2 cents

Agreed Quick Match is a total waste of time. Really disappointed, I want to race people but the whole lobby system is way too slow and quick match is even slower. If they can't make it work then they shouldn't release it. I got one match in 1hour and it crashed on the last corner. Does anyone know if PC sim racing is worth the investment over GT6? I've had every version of GT and want to stay loyal to the brand but I get the feeling its falling way behind it's competitors.This.
