I just saw the live footage of the crash, and it was horrifying. 5 years and no chassis redesign, thats just a recipe for soething like this.

RIP to a great racer.

V8 supercars have announced that the best performed international driver at the Gold Coast race each year will be awarded the 'Dan Wheldon Memorial Trophy'. Link
Dan was meant to race there this weekend.

I didn't know that he was popular among other drivers. A very nice touch by V8 Supercars Management to have an award dedicated to the late Dan Wheldon. I feel touched...
