What car to use based on how fun they are to drive, in the 24h race

Hi there.

I'm planning on doing the Le Mans 24h race, but can't decide what car to choose!

I've got the 2011X Red bull, but i want a proper Le Mans car, and i'm stuck with these 3: Nissan R92CP, Sauber Mercedes C9, and Mazda 787B.

Which handles better, and which is the most fun to drive?

They are all Group C cars and a pleasure to drive (though they burn tires) .

Take 10 laps each and go with what you like.

Send FR to scarecrow937 if you want me to send you a level23 ticket so you can try to get an LMP in case you want more options.

I'm about to give it a go in either one of the R8's or one of the two newer Pescarolo's.

I'd take the 787B because it's a rotary and premium. But it's probably the slowest of this trio (not that much power).

Or maybe the Sauber C9 cause I'm swiss.

Of the cars listed I'd go with the Nissan just for the sound, there's no way I could tolerate the crappy sounds of the other 2 for 24 hours!

Scarecrow: ive added you now.

dr_slump: I dont really care about premium, i just need to have the most fun driving 24h.

Also, i don't have any of these cars, thats kind of why im asking :)

My favourite is the R92CP, it's a bit slower than the C9, but sounds much better than both that and the 787B (which is way overrated in my opinion). I'd go as far as saying it's the best sounding Le Mans car in-game along with the R89. It's tricky to drive, but a joy once you get a hang of it :D

Of course, the 787B is premium so you'll enjoy the cockpit view more often, and it's also the best on tyres.

The C9 is the fastest among these three, but I just cannot get over that terrible engine sound, and I cannot imagine how one would stand it for 24 hours :yuck:

Toyota 7 is fine i guess, but i just like the 787b more because of the looks and because its been in GT for as long as i can remember.

And the other 2 because i saw them at Le Mans a week ago.

What's the difference between Group C and LMP?

I'm doing this shortly but was gonna use the GT-One as it looks pretty awesome.

Power wise is it worth staying stock or adding turbos etc?

The Toyota 7 doesn't have any lights though, making the night stint a tricky proposition.
Exciting, isn't it? Simply follow one of the NPCs.

@OP Are you going to drive them stock or (fully) modded?

On a site note, i'm like 40/30/30 in favor of the Mercedes, simply because i think its way nicer (is that a word?) and drove so nice at the group c at Le Mans a week ago.

Personally among those three I prefer the Sauber C9 most. It does not sound so good but it handles great and is *oh so fast.* The R92CP is also very fast and sounds and looks better, but I don't think it handles so great. The 787B is prettier than the C9 and just as pretty as the R92CP, but is not as fast or as good handling as the C9... and the turbo rotary screaming sound is unique but it can get irritating after an hour. Like scarecrow said, do 10 laps in each, do some tuning and decide for yourself. But since you don't have any of these cars I'd say Sauber C9 FTW. Hope this helps.

EDIT: Actually I feel it's a toss-up between the C9 and R92CP, but not the 787B. Again, just my opinion.

Im sorry, did you just say the 787B has crappy sound??? :odd:

I would go with the 787B.

I don't own any of the cars, and only have about 6 million, so i'm only going to buy one :)

Uhh but the first two are standards and you'd need really big luck to find them in the UCD. Of course, you could use a lvl 23 ticket instead.

The Sauber C9 just edges it, purely on performance. The Mazda comes a close second choice for me.

Maybe a poll option on the OP would've been an idea...?

Lol! Yeah those 2 cars sound great and what's funny is that none of them sound like that in real life, the Sauber is the one that actually should sound like that!

Yes I did! It does absolutely no justice to the real thing!

^ true... good point. Too bad these pricey cars are not tradeable for borrowing or leasing LOL :)

In a few hours when I'm home from work I will accept your request and send you a level 23 ticket.

A warning ... over tuning the cars may make the race boring after 24 hours as you will crush them. If you are a good driver just drive them as they show up in the dealership no tuning needed... a set up on the suspension and differential would be needed though

Luckily this was possible in the first days of GT5. Otherwise I wouldn't have got all race cars. :)

Technically, the R92CP isn't a Le Mans car as it never raced at Le Mans and was never intended to race there (though it's closely-related predecessors did).

Pick your favorite. They will all get the job done, so pick the one you like to drive the most.

Nissan R92CP, Sauber Mercedes C9 ***snip***

I would recommend either the Sauber C9 or the Nissan R92CP.

Both are fast enough to make short work of the AI. You may want to de-tune them a little to give the AI a fair chance.

I'm actually currently running the 24 hours of LeMans with the Nissan R92CP and its a beast!

I've also driven the race with the Sauber C9, and I would say that the Sauber C9 is slightly easier to drive.

Good luck with whatever you choose.
