Pretty impressed with your work Mel the majority seem to be quite well balanced. My only concern is that those which have the High Rpm turbo will dominate on the faster tracks.

So, the MINI, BMW and Mitsubishi will be fast at wide, long, faster tracks? That might balance things out, because I find that MINI, BMW and Mitsubishi have worst handling... Although MINI just needs a tune to control its slight oversteer, as compared to the other cars.


As normal, more testing required. Thursday and Friday, I'll be testing every car at every track... The average lap times from each will be totaled up, and hopefully by the end, they'll be within a second or two (across every track.) Otherwise, I'll be forced to re-reconsider the specs. Again.

Thing is any car can be made faster with a good tune, while some cars are naturally fast in stock condition (i.e. Ford). But obviously some cars are more difficult to tune than others. If say the MINI is quick at fast tracks, then somebody good tunes it up well so it's also on par at twisty tracks, all of a sudden you have a car that has the potential to be a key championship contender, because effectively they have removed it's slow speed at weaker tracks, which you are relying on it having in order to keep things balanced.

Oh, yes you can.


As far as spec'ing the High-RPM turbo cars goes, though, it's mainly done to boost acceleration to achieve the same speed as the other cars, not necessarily to push the car above the speeds of the other cars. I'll put extra testing into the MINI, BMW and Mazda (the other car with high RPM turbo is not the Mitsubishi , disregard posts above) to make sure that they don't massively exceed the speeds of the other cars, but from my testing, the MINI seems to be in the sweet spot, the BMW is all but a drift car, and the Mazda is a bit of a boat on tight tracks and average on fast tracks.


But I will test them again and again to be sure.
