There is no engine running in if you change the oil ;) => just tune it like the sheet tells you and last thing to do is changing the P-L to the correct value ;)

@ITCC_Andrew This Weekend ?? Is this a test race for preseason or what ?? Bit surprised at the moment :D

The run-offs are this weekend. Run-offs are a "bridge" between season 4 and season 5. In this case, we're going to Apricot Hill this weekend, for run-offs, which is a separate three-round championship.

Dano, every track we visit.

You need to buy and build the car(s) you wish to test, yes.

It's the only fair way to give you some idea of what the car(s) behave(s) like.

@ITCC_Andrew I thought you said everybody has equal priority when picking cars up to the deadline (which is when btw? 17th May?) Can't see it on OP...

Yet you are already "locking in" drivers according to the Nas news post?

For example you have already locked yourself in for the C4, but if 6+ drivers come after and all smash your lap times in then you still remain locked in? If so then that isn't giving an equal chance because that's just first come first serve. Or end up populating half the grid with C4s...(just an example but you get the picture?)

Anyway I might be free to test tomorrow, Thursday, or after the race Saturday.

This WE is not soo good for me.
Maybe Thursday, Sunday maybe Monday (on Friday and Saturday I´m unavailable). Hope something will happen there :D

BTW 2.5mill Cr. to build me all the cars :D
Only tested the Tuscani at Ascari and boy me likes this Car already. But have to do the official and more private test-sessions :D

@KingSakery, that's okay.

@Siggers, the positions are - currently - only temporary. If someone indeed does come along and out-perform the current drivers, the current drivers will possibly be booted out of that team.

For example, although I'm currently Citroën's lead driver, and I'll be driving a Citroën this weekend, I could be booted to second place on the team by Caine or you... Or completely off of the team.

But, after the deadline, there's absolutely no way to get on a factory team except performing - that's when the contracts take effect officially.

The current status of the contracts is "pending Manufacturer's decision." Nas, Ryan, and I are on that team for now, and will remain, unless someone better comes along.

Don't nerf the focus yet. I got a tune off of the forums. That's how I'm so fast. Stock tune is right in the ballpark of where the other cars are stock I bet. Let's get data before the pitchfork and torch nerf patrol come swooping in and kill a car hint BMW last season

Well, my Citroën already has a tune... I tuned all cars while I was testing them. Even when I drove the Ford, it also was faster for me. Honda and Ford are being re-considered with new data.

How much tuning though? I know you could get more out of it. I can tune a little time out of a car, but those forum tunes are the real deal. Also, driver plays a part depending on car and driving style

Don't take the Focus out! My Ford time isn't over yet!

Yeah, I've been using a similar setup in ITCC since season 2.

Don't take the Focus out! My Ford time isn't over yet!

It's not being taken out, it's being reconsidered - the power may be lowered or weight may be raised.

What times are you guys running anyways?

At Apricot Hill, the average laps are around 1:25. Ford and Honda 1:24.2-1:22.4...

Harsk and I both ran a 1.24.3 official. I don't know what Harsk got unofficially, but I was a 24.2 unofficial

👍 Exactly what I saw... Which is the problem - everyone else, in all other cars, were 1:25s, except when I drove Ford and Honda.

I don't want neither of them! I want to be able to fight for the title as I want to compete for full season.
Which you - and everyone else - will have to do with an evenly matched car. If the Ford turns out to be evenly matched, then yes, of course it will stay the same.

But, there's no way I'm going to let a car be a few tenths of a second too fast in my series. No way. No.

They have the right to adjust the specs and this isn't your place to decide what's going on and what's not. Learn some manners.

You want cars to achieve the same lap time, right?

Yes, when driven by the same driver. Drivers may vary in speed, but the cars will be equal.
How many top speed is ok for these cars? My cars don't have the same top speed. My Mini Cooper is blocked at 231 km/h while my Ford is blocked at 238 km/h.

This is the point I'm aiming for - the cars need to be even. More and more data is pointing to the Ford being a bit too fast.

I wish they had a dislike button, there are a lot of posts on this thread I would dislike:tdown:

This isn't even pre-season. We've got a long, long time left to sort out the specs.

But, with that said, if you could help with the specs, it would be appreciated. I'm looking for as much input as I can get on how to balance them.

I don't have time at the moment sorry, Uni work is snowing me under and what little time I have to play GT is always fully occupied (another reason why the delayed race starts frustrated me). This series isn't due to start for like another 2 months anyway right? So it's not really top of my priorities :indiff:

Maybe a good suggestion to start would be to look at how the popular cars have been spec'd in other similar series, instead of trying to balance them all from scratch. That's what I would do anyway.

FYI from just looking at the car list I could tell straight away the Ford, Honda and Mazda would probably be the fastest. I told this to Buck also when she asked, she said she would pass this information onto you. The point I was trying to hint at earlier was maybe you shouldn't have opened the testing for factory spots before you ensured the specs were right.

I can see you are trying though and I am sure everybody appreciates your efforts. I know it's hard to get it perfect:tup:

No worries. The spec help doesn't have to be from you, but generally just anyone/everyone.

This is something I won't do - I've created ITCC to be a niche between the guys running 325+ hp touring cars, and the guys running less powerful cars.

Testing was bound to find the mistakes. That's why I did open the factory spots testing first - it makes people really push the car at their limits. It gives me some idea of both the cars' potential and the driver's skill levels.

Also, buck did pass that information on... But, in my own testing on smaller circuits, the Ford seemed slow. Now, with a bigger track, the Ford seems faster.

I can see you are trying though and I am sure everybody appreciates your efforts. I know it's hard to get it perfect:tup:

Speaking of this, the Volvo spec has just changed - going from normal turbo to High-RPM turbo. This improved the lap times by a second without even affecting HP and weight, and put it back in contention with the other cars again.

Naturally some cars will be fast at some circuits and slower at others. I think it's good to have that to increase variety results wise. For example my BMW this season was quick at AH but slow and Spa and Bathurst. The thing I think that was mainly wrong with the cars this season was that this circuit performance difference was too extreme; yet the ford was just generally quick everywhere (if not the quickest everywhere) which is why it won the championships.

If a car is around the pace at every track but on a few the fastest then you shouldn't really need to nerf it; only if the one track advantage is just so huge it makes the car completely dominate.
