We have 20+ drivers registered. We were going to have 12 today. But, there were connection issues.
Andrew, I understand your frustration, but there is no way we can get all 12 together. Sitting around thinking that is going to change anything won't help at all.

Furinkazen had 16 people, week in and week out in ToCA. If we can clean up our connections, we can also have 16 people. We have a very fun series, but we're experiencing the same gremlins as everyone else.

If you honestly believe that you can do a better job of running a fun series, more power to you. I'll grab my popcorn, sit, and watch as whichever series you create burns to the ground minutes after the first race.

The main issue is PD servers. We never had this amount of issues on GT5.

Its not nice for anyone, but there is little we can do to change things. We have 3 races left, lets just get this season finished with minimal quarrels and then sit down and discuss what needs to be changed for next season.

Why does Furi have 16 people? Because he has put more planning into it. TOCA is an amazingly fun, but complicated to understand lol, series.

I would normally never ask anyone to sit out, but it may be in the best interests of those who are too impatient to co-operate with me to leave with grace.

I agree with @gtpcaine said, in that we can finish this series off with a bang. We will make the final three rounds excellent by researching everything regarding the connections in the week until the official Round 8, and we will work towards making ITCC 5 the best season of ITCC yet.

I'd like to re-affirm my commitment to ITCC, and I'd like to make the same promise I made to CAMikaze to everyone:

During this week, I will be doing intensive research.

I promise everyone that I will put forward the best series I can, and that I will force myself to complete the season with as many successful, fun races as possible.

All I need is everyone's co-operation and (hopefully) some good connections.

Thank you for being so incredibly good-hearted about this. It really means a lot, that people are still being nice and some, still loyal to the series despite the problems.

This is my opinion, but this is also my goal. I aim to run one of the best series on GTP. I want to have the good racing. I put hours into running this series each week, simply because I enjoy racing. I love racing with my friends - everyone on this thread, @PsuPepperoni, @GTracer98, @Turbo_snail, @gtpcaine, @buck1, @jammy21, @Gedi69, @cnd01, @gokartman, @Furinkazen (sometimes,), @Harsk100, @rallymorten, @Dano20, @LancerEvo7...

I enjoy racing with you guys. I love racing with you guys. I put this together because I know that you enjoy it, too. I will not give up and I will not give in. I am running this series, and I will run the final three rounds, regardless of what it costs me.

We will finish ITCC 4! And we will be back!

Connection problems will not stop us. We will stop them!

I feel like a Politruk of the Red Army,... "The Motherland loves you!"

You could have cautions when someone gets disconnected
Since you can't crash your car, you crash your internet. If you crash too much, you have to retire.

Oh, no, we do crash our cars. A lot. @buck1...

Nas, I've been saying for a while, it's your attitude which needs to change. If you give me even the slightest of lip, you're out the door. Constructive criticism (à la Siggers) is helpful and appreciated. "🤬 you, I don't care, I'm giving myself points because I won" is not.

I'm happy to see that you've proven that you are capable of winning races. The fact that it was unofficial probably meant that you weren't stressed by anything and ran a good race. Good for you. It's amazing how much of a difference your attitude makes, isn't it?

I want everyone to read this. Read the tips on that thread. Read them. Do it. They will help.

You will have already noticed that ITCC does not run with Microphones enabled in its lobbies. You will have already noticed that we run with "Standard" race quality instead of the ideal "Very High." We don't typically even have latency issues, but it's comforting to know that we've made good first steps.

The next step is that I want to change my modem. The modem that my ISP gave me is acceptable, but not the best, I think. For ITCC 5, you can expect that I will spend the money to get faster bandwidth (100 mbps, anyone?) and a more stable modem.

We've also created a private conversation for any and all suggestions for improvement.

Edit: If, for some reason, you do not read the above thread, and you fail to connect, we may start the race without you. It is advisable to read the above post/thread and make the changes if you can, since it will greatly improve your chances of connecting.

I am really not prepared to wait to wait an additional 2 hours or so for Caine to finish his other league races so he can then come and host for us.

Unless I'm mistaken it should only be 15-30 minute wait from me finishing WGTC and starting ITCC. The OP says that quali should start at 8:30pm GMT. WGTC finishes at ~ 8:45pm GMT. I was fully expectant to miss quali, and race 1 on WGTC weekends.

I also said before the season started that you don't have to wait for me, but I would appreciate it if you did. Its just happened to work out that most times you hadn't started by the time I arrived, and that the room appears to be a little more stable with me as host. You weren't actively waiting for me to arrive before starting (to my knowledge).

EDIT

Anyway, what times are you getting at AH? My 5 minute run yesterday provided a 1'26.6, I suspect there is more time out there as I spent most of those 5 minutes testing gear ratios.

Yesterday just about everybody was running in the 1.27s. I did a few 1.26s, but never got below the 26.5 mark. So I would say you are in good running as per usual.

Still upset my win won't count. :(

I still think that Sig wrecked on purpose lol.

Seeing Sig never screws up, and Caine will be in 25's, it's a race for 3rd lol

I know you like a 'loose' car Nas, but I really do think you can be a lot faster by tightening it up some. Yes it's a different car, but I run with 0 camber front + rear, and about +/- 0.2 toe at most. 12/13 podium finishes tells it all really.

I actually tightened it a bit for AH, and ran 2nd for a majority of the race, and after Sig crashed, it was over. :)

I apparently can take turns 1 & 2 faster than anyone else, as I made up some insane amounts of time through sector 1.

:grumpy: I know all too well, that's he's difficult to beat, but we both have 1 W in our results columns. ;) Caine didn't stop me at Trial Mountain... I love that place.

Anyways, since there's a lot of rumours going around for ITCC 5 (I'll take responsibility for mentioning it,) I've got a teaser.

ITCC 5: The Modern Series - late summer, 2014

ITCC's return for a fifth season will see the average race day's length doubled, points per weekend doubled, and the number of cars will remain the same. 40 spots will be available in the championship, but only 16 per race weekend. The tracks we will use are all short "bull-ring" style tracks, similar in nature to ITCC 1, BTCC @ Brands Hatch Indy and WTCC at Suzuka East. Therefore, we can confirm the following circuits:

Circuits:

-Brands Hatch Indy (27 laps per race)
-Suzuka East (25 laps per race)
-Trial Mountain Circuit (13 laps per race)
-Cape Ring Inside (20 laps per race)
-Motegi East (15 laps per race)
-Autumn Ring Mini (39 laps per race)

Run-offs:

-High Speed Ring
-Silverstone National
-Nürburgring GP/D

As for cars, well, you'll just have to wait for most, but the two I can confirm are:

Cars:

VW Scirocco '08
Ford Focus ST '13
BMW 120i (insert year)

90% of the cars will be FF, and 10% will be FR.

Weekend schedule:

Qualifying: locked-in guys don't have to qualify - more on that later - and go-or-go-home guys must qualify the night before the races
Race 1: 50 km., sprint
Race 2: 50 km., Racing MEDIUM tires (pit stop probably necessary)
Race 3: 50 km., sprint - with ballast
Race 4: 50 km., Racing MEDIUM tires - with ballast

All races will run standing start. There will be 5 minute intermission between all 4 races (3 total intermissions - 15m total) This will be done by GT6's "Hold Races Automatically" feature, to reduce waiting and reduce unnecessary conversation which is better saved for practice sessions.

Connection:

I will host all rooms in ITCC 5. By the time ITCC 5 is upon us, I will have 5x the connection speeds (150+ mbps), allowing me to run with "Fixed Host status" to ensure that all drivers can connect, without lag.

Team Structure:

Manufacturers will be designated either "Independent" or "Factory-backed." For example, Ford will be Factory-backed, while FIAT will not be factory-backed. (Yes, I'll give you that there will be a FIAT, but no I'm not saying which one.) Factory teams will have four drivers. Independent teams will have two drivers per team, for that manufacturer.

Ford, for example, may have:

-Caine
-Andrew
-Siggers
-Ciro

While Fiat may have:

Team Abarth POWER:

-Blake
-Lancer

Team FIAT Corse:

-buck
-dano

I updated the OP for this season. It now contains only accurate information, current drivers, and:

Invisible Competitor Procedure:

Prior to the start of each Race, all drivers will be asked to note the number of cars they see on-track, and compare to the number of people in the lobby. Take note of any discrepancies. If the driver who is NOT visible on track is tuning, spectating, or otherwise visibly doing something else, then there is no problem. However, if you see 15 people on track, and there are actually 16 people on track, this is a serious problem. You could end up inadvertently taking someone else off of the circuit. In that case, you must state "I do NOT see - and I will re-join quickly." If you return and the problem is settled, the race will start as normal. If you can not see the driver, it is caused by Error 697, and you may want to consider following Error 697 procedure to solve it.

Anyone who experience invisible competitor procedure MAY be allowed to race under the following conditions:

  1. the series host MUST be able to see you and all other drivers. This is highest priority.
  2. You must only be invisible to one driver, and you must not be able to see that same driver.
  3. You must continue to adhere to all driving standards as if you could see the other driver. Yes, you will not see the other driver who is invisible. You can not be involved in a crash with someone you can't see, as long as they can't see you.
11502895915_e2eaf36391_n.jpg

Error 697 procedure:

In the case of a driver receiving the "Error 697: Host Incompatibility" message, the driver will PM the Series Director and will ask to receive points for that round. The round will continue, and the driver will score last place points for the races. There is currently no solution for Error 697 except port-forwarding and DMZ.

Team of Stewards:

For ITCC 4 and every subsequent season of ITCC, the following rules will organize an application process for ToS:

  1. Have a clean record with ITCC (no penalties in the previous six months)
  2. Have completed at least one season
  3. PM @ITCC_Andrew with Subject: "ToS Application"
  4. Join the team

The ToS will function as our official replay review committee, as well as help to test cars evenly. The ToS will receive insider information about the upcoming events and seasons, as a bonus. Any ToS member who finds an incident in a replay should report the incident to @ITCC_Andrew and the other ToS members. Each ToS member will be designated with a short segment of racing to review. The typical segment of racing to review will be one race length. We ask that the ToS members review replays of all viewpoints of the first lap, and all subsequent laps as necessary.

ToS will be called upon to act in the decision making process, regarding penalty-situations.
