[RACE] Weekend Fun Runs - Thnks fr th mmrsFinished

Bad driving standards suck. The one thing that's just as bad is when people go into meltdown/overload after it - it's justifiable, but establishing a fairly simple driving etiquette (a shame it's not common sense) list would help. A lot. Barring the Clio RX thing we did, things like that have to be viewed under a separate light.

It's moreso confusing and just encouraging the garbage etiquette we currently have.
I completely understand. What's just as bad then, however, are the titles - "leave common sense behind", "we don't even know what we're doing". If something's going to confuse a newcomer, what's more suggestive, a meme or the actual thread title?

Twas more of an insult to the members as the etiquette has annoyed me for awhile although this week was an improvement, ignoring Mazda Cup Round 5

I always assumed the common sense thing was the general chat that went on. I knew I didn't talk common sense. :P

...Wasn't there a kart race around the 'Ring, and we vowed "never again" or something? Or have we binned the karts altogether after the grossly oversized Jaguar vs poor souls in karts disaster?

everyone... Please... Smile!
I promise to never speak of this again but this was literally all I was trying to do. Ever. All I ever will do. When nobody's left laughing, I get fresh material.

@GranTurismo916 is trialling a new setup, named "atrocious internet connection". This guarantees an extra 20mph in lag down the straights, giving that all-important nose a peek ahead on the ovals, and any fast competitors can be duly lag spiked off the barriers and taken out the running.

I'm also running that same exact setup. Here's the details:

@nascarfan1400 - regarding the Clios, which were a really nice break, are we going to be having more random one-makey things in the near future? Exploring some of the lesser-used cars is one of the only fun things in GT6 at this point.

At times this week, if I'm not busy I'll open up some one-make semi-endurance races using the recommended car list. This isn't really a "Fun Runs" room as I'll be expecting sensible driving from everyone. @nascarfan1400 I hope it's okay to "advertise" this here.
I'd happily join those if I could find some free time.

Here are some random racing ideas that I have for the room:

DeltaWing VS the World? (Because everyone hates the DeltaWing, why not create this?) Basically it's one DeltaWing against 4 or 5 other cars. The DeltaWing will try to complete the race as fast as possible, while the other cars will try to take the DeltaWing out. Bonus points if the DeltaWing ends up stuck literally inside a wall.

Obstacle Course Racing (Taken from FailRace's challenge with this and slightly altered): No map, various cars. The ratio of obstacle cars to standard racers will be 4:1. (so for every 4 obstacles, there will be one racer). The obstacle cars' goal is simple: To create chicanes and roadblocks to try and stop the racers from finishing the race. The obstacle cars cannot completely block the road; it has to be possible for the racers to get through. Once the obstacles are in place, they cannot move until the racers have passed. The obstacle cars get a 2 minute head start to set up. The racers' goal is to finish the race without totaling their cars. Once a racer's car has three or more broken parts (i.e both front wheels + engine), they are totaled and out of the race. Obstacle cars cannot be totaled. To make things even harder, once a racer's car is totaled, they have to stop wherever they are and stay there for the rest of the race. First to the finish (if anyone finishes) wins!

Push Races: Teams of 2 are required with this race idea. One person will push their teammate around the track normally. The person pushing has full control of their vehicle, while the other person has only steering and has to rely on their teammate for acceleration. After one lap, their roles are reversed. First team to cross the finish wins.

Yes. Would only really work in a decent size lobby but this is mega fun.
