I will be attending this. Even though I am no where near as good as you guys are. But since I live in SD, why not...

But is there a fee for the registration or do we just go there before or at 10 am?

I'm more concerned at where I should park lol, it seem's like there are only side street's to park.

Any native San Diego'ans know where a nearby parking lot would be?

Well i can't say four sure what the format will be.
There was a recent wildcard event somewhere In the uk
And it was on the dfgt wheel stock 370z and they set1 lap time then.
They had todo 3complet laps and added up all the times of 4rounds

^^thank's Wardez, so to quote "Contestants may only race once during their trial and cannot pause or restart at any point.", so we only get one shot and that's it? Have to think like an "alien" then. :D

Hey Chris u were stuck at 1.32.2 in gt academy I was at 1.32.2 or.3 lol
Could have done better but ionly had 3days to learn my new wheel ;)

Cool, glad to help.

I'll update the OP with a list of people that can confirm they're going later tonight, we'll add more as time goes on, I'd love to get there on Thursday to meet some of you intrepid GTP'ers as well!

It's official! I'm thinking about getting a room hell if I claim this thing might as well book it for up to Saturday. Just have to finagle my way outa work "cough, cough"

I won't be going. It is a pretty low percentage move.

Also from the blog:

There is no maximum amount of people who can register, but it’s a one day competition from 10am to 4pm, so bare that in mind. The line can very well be cut off way before 4pm if the line exceeds the time it requires for each competitor to drive. We would highly suggest getting there before 10am, especially since it’s comic-con.

I just re-read the rules, "They will need to line up again for a second attempt In the event of a tie at the end of the Contest Period, the contestants who are tied will race again to determine the winner. "

^^was there supposed to be a period at the end of "attempt", if so, that means we get more than one try??? We just have to line up again, there will probably be lot's of people that are non-GT players from comic-con, so I hope I can get a second shot before 4pm.

Let's see how many of us GTP'ers stay at the top! :D

I hope not to screw up with all the pressure, I know I'm fast but it take's me time to learn the track...When I was league racing in F1 I calculated it taking 300 laps to get to my maximum so...with that said.... (side note: we were also messing with Car setting's so this did take a considerable amount of time to nail)

I'll be adopting Tigdney's "Guide to every track" for this event.

I Hope a GTP'er takes the prize no matter what happens! :gtpflag:

^^same here, take's me a couple lap's to figure out where/how to go fast but I guess that is the point of this comp.

I guess we'll have to give it full commitment when we're up there. ;D

Just pretend you're Senna qualifying for Monaco. :D
