Are you using a wheel? If so, and you like more simulation type racing games then easy - DTM. I have Grid AS but I don't play it as there are so many good Sim type racing games in my library.

Got this ages ago, runs at 30FPS on my PC. Only tried the Green LMP like car on the fantasy track, good fun with my DS3. Tried the hillclimb in the unlicenced BMW 1Series, I couldn't control it no matter what, it sounds great and has decent handling. It prompted me to get GT LEGENDS and I am still considering GTR2 when I get money on my steam wallet

GTR2 is still one of the best sims ever. The graphics look a little dated now, but there's some free mods out there to update it some. It still doesn't look terrible though given how old it is. It was probably a fanatastic looking game when it was released. That being said, GTR2 is all about the physics and FFB, its just really really good.

Well it was what, 2004? I''ve played the demo and doesn't look that bad (Althogh the swingman camera is too close to the car for me, RACE 07 fixed that) I might use bonnet (hood) cam. I like the MoTec style rev limiter on it. I read somewhere the Steam version has no Porsche or Ferrari, any way to fix that? I love the old 911 GT3RS

Looks like you missed out on the recent SimBin Mega Bundle. I picked it up for less than $CDN9. It'll come around again I'm sure, gotta keep an eye on it as they have sales mid-week and every weekend. I also got SpinTires, Euro Truck Simulator, Assetto Corsa and more, all discounted substantially.

Yes, there's a hack to get Porsche and Ferrari back in the game and its not difficult to do.

You need Game Stock Car Extreme and the mod below then:

Sorry posting this in the R3E forum - R3E and GSCE are my two favorite sims.

I first downloaded this a year ago; played a little and thought...meh, it's ok...then did not play again until a week ago. I have bought some tracks and cars now and I have to say...THIS GAME IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT! 'That's all I have to say about that."

It's licenced. BMW 134 Judd V8 does exist.

I thought it was listed as an Alpine, not BMW. Anyway I had a go on the Alps track in a Saleen S7R and it was amazing. Considering buying Laguna Seca and a Corvette C6R

So, there is much I like about this game. The sounds and visuals are great, the "life" on the side of the track is impressive, the AI is good, and the FFB is great...........except for one issue: I get virtually no feedback from the tires through the wheel or through my speakers. When the car is in a turn or sliding sideways there is zero sound from them and zero info being relayed through my wheel (Fanatec GT3 RS V2). I have both options for the tire sounds at Max and even turned down all the other sounds in an attempt to make the tire sounds louder, no luck. If I lock them up then they screech like mad, but in a massive drift or spin their quiet as a mouse. I've tinkered with the various FFB settings to see if I can get some tire feel through the wheel, no luck. What am I doing wrong? It's very disconcerting, when your car starts to slide you need to hear your tires to convey a sense of emergency, but instead it's the exact opposite. Is this normal?

Here's a video to illustrate, you can hear the tires lock up a few times as I go over bumps, but you never hear a peep from the tires other than that.

I'm glad they added Portimao as free track recently. Graphically it's a step up from the rather poor texturing of the Raceroom raceway, made me realize that R3E may be behind AC or pCARS in visuals but it's not as bad as I recalled.

After spending an afternoon playing tweak-the-FFB on my T500, I'm at the stage where I fancy purchasing a pack, however the one I want most is ADAC GT, and it seems logical to wait for the 2014 release rather than picking up 2013.

Any info on when it's due exactly?

Thanks, nice overview.

In the meantime I figured out that you get price reduction on owned content, so there's no real problem with buying stuff now and adding more later. Bought DTM 2014 and ADAC GT 2013 and saw a decent price reduction to ADAC from already owning the tracks in Raceroom via DTM. I like that the DTM tracks are mostly German and Eastern European and there's almost no overlap with AC and pCARS track lists.

R3E is definitely making good progress. Now if only AI cars weren't so solid causing the player to bounce off even with the smallest impact... (Ok, it's not always that bad, but often)

I tried RaceRoom and it was seriously fun. The only stressful moment I had was doing the master Apex Hunt in the Canhard at the Hill climb but overall the experience was great. Cars felt great, it looked good and the sounds were amazing.

Could someone tell me how big is the download for DTM 14
Thank you
The Raceroom "free to play" download includes all content, including both DTM Experience games. You can then use that content either in competitions (if you don't own it) or for single and multiplayer racing (if you purchase it) but no additional downloads are required.
