Doing single races in R3E. Would like a AI difficulty that's more challenging but at the same time, not impossible to keep up with.

I heard the AI is very good/adaptive if you only do sufficiënt short races (3 or so) so they can adapt..
I personally never run again AI so cant say for sure though..

Seems like the lowest I can go is 8 Minutes, no lower. Also, it doesn't seem all that good in randomizing positions because every time I used it, I never started anywhere other then the front row.

Gotta say this free drive weekend is truly the first time I've enjoyed the content of the game (even if it seems I'm never gonna be able to afford it). Only real frustration came in driving the GT1 cars at Zolder. I found the Gearbox model to be very annoying with the Ford GT GT1 as even when I was finessing the throttle, it had the annoying tendency to have that judder and it really killed my momentum several times (same for the Saleen S7R.)

Although i like the Gt1 cars they still have the older carphysics i believe.. From simbin days.. :odd:
Plenty of other content no? Id say.. Choose one car per class in which you believe and make it work.. Saves money and you improve your skills quicker than always driving different cars..

After those 3 races, you can lengthen the races again.. But yeah.. AI will never be perfect but always close to.. Nothing but the real people..

Come to think of it, I did find myself thinking "Why does this feel familiar?" after driving the Saleen.

When I say enjoy, I REALLY enjoyed the content

Like there was literally not one single category of car I didn't try out. I even did some races with some of them. I had a lot of fun with the WTCC cars from both seasons, completely different animals to drive but that just what added to the fun of driving them. I'll likely focus on WTCC since I enjoy that a lot.

So I'm about to do a race on the DTM Experience Demo and I notice the "Starting Tire" Screen. Does that mean I have to pit at least once?

Well, found out on my own that I didn't. I did find something else frustrating though: On the DTm Demo, I was able to configure one of the settings to Manual Transmission and it pretty much worked. However when I do this on the ADAC demo, it'll change right back to Automatic Transmission when I go to a session. Its very annoying.

Physics Test race with Kelvin van der Linde!

ADAC GT Masters 2014 Champion Kelvin van der Linde has helped the development team tremendously in creating the new physics for the GTR3 cars in RaceRoom.

This coming Friday (Aug 21st) at 20.00 CEST, Kelvin and the Sector3 Studios developers will present and explain the results to the betatesters... and you are invited to the presentation! As an experiment the whole session will be broadcast on Twitch for you to follow in high quality, live and with no filters.

You can interact live with the team during the event in the Twich chat or by using #RaceRoomUpdate on Twitter, and we'll do our best to answer during the stream.

Fired up R3E today and did the Canhard hillclimb leaderboard challenge and improved on my time by 4 seconds (3:10.956; #26 in the world). I could improve my time by a lot if I was smoother but I will take what I got. I also did the Mustang at Laguna Seca challenge and I got a time of 1:28.065 (#23 in the world). It was fun playing this game again and I have to remember to play this more.

Wow those cars have old physics and not fun to drive imo. ^^

You should wait for the upcoming updates ;)
For me they are a blast. If the GT cars and DP are on the new physics model then I have driven them and they are great too.

I have both the WTCC '13 and '14 Packs (not mods) and enjoy both of them. Over at the "other sim racing forum" they will be racing both of them online at Monza this weekend. 👍
Theres another forum we cannot speak of? :odd:

Racedepartment.com I'm sure we're allowed to speak of it, I was just being cheeky. They have a sub-forum for R3E, and within that is another sub-forum for online racing clubs. They don't seem to get huge grids (since not nearly as many people play R3E regularly) but I was in a race yesterday with 7-8 people which is enough to get a good race on. Hopefully once the new tracks (Spa this week, Nords "soon") and the physics/ffb updates start hitting, more people will get involved. 👍

I tried the Fabcar at Laguna Seca challenge and got myself up to 6th with 1:21.817, 1.5 seconds behind 1st. Whoever got the top time, I congratulate them for that impressive time.
