Isn't that someone who works in a chip shop?

Yes.

Anyway, I've sorted an R.S.A.P. (Random Suzuki Allocation Programme).

Taking the fastest lap times from the final race last week, I used the last three digits, and worked from the lowest upwards. Hence:

Mallet has it in the 1st race, with a time of .077

Paul is next, with .112

Zo next, .161

Tarn... .238

BB... .367

Jocke... .512

Famine... .796

Suts... .852

Venari... .901

Of course, if anyone can't make it, then they won't get a Suzuki race! If someone comes who wasn't there last week, they'll follow on, in the order they came into the room. Tadaaaa.

Cheers, Zo.

Since I missed most of the previous CHYLB race a point of clarification. The Toyotas can batter the Suzuki and the Suzuki can (try to) batter the Toyota but can the Toyota drivers jostle with each other if it's to their benefit? Or is theirs a more of a flat out race?

The Lotuses (Lotii?) behaved cleanly to each other in CHYLB.

Edit: There's a chance I'll be there but I'm not sure yet. A possibility is that I'll arrive part way through the event.

Mallet's got it Paul. The Tacoma's race cleanly among themselves, but can hammer the Suzuki. If successful, this is an advantage to them, because the Suzuki driver scores twice as many points for his/her finishing position as those in the Tacomas.

Woohoo. My Mrs has booked her accommodation for the Edinburgh festival next year, at around the cost of a PS4. I'm getting that GTS/PCars feeling.

You'll be welcome whenever you arrive Mallet 👍

Cheers, Zo.

Cor. This pair are twitchy sods, aren't they? I am a lot more than 8 seconds faster than the Toyota in the GSX/R, and I thought I wasn't hanging about in the Toyota. Once it's gone, it's gone! The GSX/R points the same direction it is actually travelling about twice on a really fast lap. :D

'Entertaining', that's what they are :)

I found the Suzuki more than 8 seconds a lap ahead too, but I thought I'd build in a bit of slack in order to allow the Suzuki drivers some spare time to plan an attacking overtake, attempting to slip the clutches of the evil Toyotas :scared:

Hey Zo and all. I will try to join you all tonight if there is a spot left
PureGT_GOOFY
That's a funny coincidence, Goofy, that you should return tonight.
Because I was just looking at this silly photo again yesterday.
The one I posted in the old Z8 club thread two or three years ago.
That's qken in the #23, myself in the #22, gkgamer in the #27 (at least I think he had #27) and of course you.. Goofy.

Haha Jocke, those were the times 👍

Well that was a good laugh. Keep it up Zo.

Congratulations to @Famine on his overall win and to @JockeP22 for getting a race win in the Suzuki. (Oh and to Famine for nearly getting a win in the Suzuki. :mischievous:)

I bet Kaz never quite planned for his game to be used with the antics we get up too.

How's about the reverse idea of (something like) a Daihatsu Midget being chased down by some Dodge Rams. Might work?

(Oh and to Famine for nearly getting a win in the Suzuki. :mischievous:)
I realised what a bell end I was afterwards for trying to overtake at all. Second would have been the second best result of any GSX/R-4; I should have just sat behind and waited for either an error or the finish line.

Instead I got battered like a ginger stepchild.

That looks fantastic. You must have turned hard left for dear life while the tyre begged for mercy.

Anyway, I saved three replays last night. They're all edited the same way, about three minutes in length.
It starts off with the Gixxer driver waiting just before the forty second mark, then it shows him negotiating
the first few corners before I cut to the moment where the driver catched up to the Toyotas and commenced
his attempts to pass them. Famine's and Venari's battles with the trucks were the funniest.

I will also try and help Zo with a sort of tutorial video for the upcoming 'turnaround' races.
Will hopefully get that sorted before Saturday. Fun races last night, you bastards. :)

Nice work Jocke. I think Suts deserves a special mention for his determination in smiting the pesky GSX-R. actic from Mark, just avoid the other cars by driving on the grass!

So, on to next week. Inspired by the final race of last night, and by Paul's comment above, I've arranged for:

'Run Alpy RUN!'

We'll be racing at Grand Valley East Reverse. One driver will be in the delightful Alpine A110 1600S ('73 or '72), and will get a lead of 5 seconds per lap on the chasers, who will be in the Honda NSX Type R '92. Straight forward racing, no battering. The NSXs should catch the Alpine, but will they? And if so, how many will pass it?

Double points for your Alpine run.

C/S tyres all round, stock with oil change. Normal degradation, real slipstream, real edge grip, light penalties and light damage. Reverse grids after first race.

Automated Alpine Allocation as per yesterday, but I haven't worked it out yet.

Cheers, Zo.

I thought so. It's me behind you and I was thinking that's a lot of enthusiastic trucking. Tyre smoke everywhere. Indeed I was wandering in which direction you were trucking. Going to the left or the right? Straight on as it happened.

Nice vids @JockeP22. A cunning but highly successful manoeuvre of yours in nudging aside the big bar stewards. ;)

Awwwwww :(

I had a suggestion for another CHYL/BB race. I think I recall @Venari saying he really loves the MINI Countryman and would like nothing more than to spend an evening racing it. So that as the Big one(s) and the original Mini Cooper 1.3i as the Little one(s).

Yeah, I'm so naughty. :D Alpines - nice.

Yeah, you better run.

Yeah, you better run.
I still remember your joy at being stuck behind my EZ GT Countryman, purpose-built to handle like a greased eel.
Alpine A110 1600S '73
Just to check, is it definitely that one? It's a Standard car, whereas the '72 version which is identical in every way except the year, is a Premium one.

I hadn't even noticed there were two! Yeah, people can use either, 72 or 73. I'll update the OP. Only the 92 NSX though, the 02 is a lot quicker.

Different PP for the 72 and 73 Alpines too. Seems like the 72 model has a much shorter final ratio. Doesn't seem to make any difference to the lap times though. Man I love the way it drifts through the two right handers before the tunnel 👍

Cheers, Zo.

Edit: Automated Alpine Allocation chaps...

1st race, Jocke.

2nd race, Venari.

3rd race, Goofy.

4th race, Suts.

5th race, Zo.

6th race, Famine.

7th race, Paul.

Things you never hear: NSX is flippin' hard work to drive fast at GVER.

That said, I put in a lap 5.7secs quicker than the Alpine, but I couldn't do it twice. Passing will be a nightmare if there's a well driven Alpine out there.

Alpine, by comparison, an absolute joy to drive.

Automated Alpine Allocation as per yesterday, but I haven't worked it out yet.
Well then if I may suggest, Zo, that in order for you to find the best allocation system you first twist the
aft nanowave engine of the Alpine and re-attenuate the rear dorsal parabolic circuit.
Should you detect a magnetic anomaly in the multi-spacial sensor array you need to
re-align the temporal wingnuts which will increase the efficiency of the allocation system.
You must also disentangle the electromagnetic laser system in the Alpine (it's located right
underneath the passenger seat) in order to be able to see if there is a microfracture in the Alpine's nanotech feed.
If you should detect a power spike in the multi-spacial antennae you must de-materialize the toroidal coils.

Simples. That's your allocation woes sorted.

Should you still run into some "allocation problems" I always find this particular formula helpfull, especially with
regards to GT6 issues.

((-1+3i)+1)^{2}=(3i)^{2}=(3^{2})(i^{2})=9(-1)=-9,
{\ ((-1-3i)+1)^{2}=(-3i)^{2}=(-3)^{2}(i^{2})=9(-1)=-9.}
((-1-3i)+1)^{2}=(-3i)^{2}=(-3)^{2}(i^{2})=9(-1)=-9.

Oh, and it's hard not to notice it on the forums today, so...
This one's for Famine.

Yes, that is Biff from Back to the Future.

I hadn't actually noticed. 40! I still remember those days. Just.

Hope you had a good one Mr E.

a microfracture in the Alpine's nanotech feed.
That problem was only introduced on the '73 model. But of course the '72 had the quantum clutch assembly issue which could only be fixed by re-attenuating the dorsal graviton force matrix.
(Too much time watching sci-fi :P)
