After my summer break I thought I'd got for something with a bit of oomph; so, here we are with GT3 Vs GT4. It works like this...
You pick any manufacturer you like, and you use their GT3 in one race and GT4 in the other. (Grid positions and category allocations will be by the 'last two digits of your lap time' method.)
Tuning is not allowed, but cars can be maxed out using 'level up'. GT4s will have around 490BHP and weigh just under 1000kg, whilst GT3s have around 690BHP and weigh just over 1000kg.
Tyres will be R/H, with degradation set at No2 for them and fuel.
The circuit is Dragon Trail Gardens. The races will be 17 laps long. The grid settings will have the GT4s at the front, and they will set off as soon as the race starts. The GT3 drivers will wait until 40 seconds into the race, and will then set off after the GT4s.
This timing differential gives the advantage to the GT3 cars. However, they are considerably more difficult than the GT4s to get the best lap time from; they will have to be driven hard, but with care, to close that gap.
The second race will have a reverse grid from the 1st race result, but messed about with to keep the GT4s at the front. (All will be clear on the night, honest.)
No boost, no damage, just short-cut penalties.
DON'T FORGET, YOU CAN ONLY USE ONE MANUFACTURER'S CARS.
From a bit of testing Venari and I did yesterday, I can say that the Alfa has a nice balance for both GT4 and GT3, the Mustang is a little off the pace for both, the Citroen GT is quick in GT4, but rather tricky once upgraded to GT3, and the Fezza struggles to get all that grunt down cleanly too.
Cheers, Zo.
