What's the rough PWR people have been getting to suit the times?

I think that you'll find 250BHP and 1300kg will give you a decent starting point Famine. Some will be just a little too quick, and others a bit off the pace, but most will be somewhere near.

Cheers, Zo.

BTW, I spent a million of the BAT today. It goes to 197BHP and 783kg, and it's just a little too slow. Dammit!

Cheers for the PWR tip. I've had no opportunity to drive this week at all. These events need practice time... unless that's the point?

I think it's only fair to share this, especially as there are people who are going to have minimal prep time... Gr4 motors are FANTASTIC for this! They'll come down to 250BHP or thereabouts, and with 1500-1650kg on board they can lap very accurately and consistently. The tricky approach to the chicane is a doddle. The weight can cause slight issues through the fast S bends towards the end of the circuit, but nothing that lifting at the right time can't fix, then it's 'NAIL IT!' for the rest of the ride, brilliant.

Cheers, Zo.

BTW, I didn't know this at the time of my reply to Famine...

In truth, I haven’t had time to practice either. I know my choice of car but due to me being busy recently, as you can imagine it’s not tuned for today’s requirements.

Yep. Unfortunately had no time to practice this either. First time I’ll get a chance will be around 730-8pm this evening.
Thanks for the suggestions. I’m happy to go with that as I’m usually 5s slower than you guys anyway!

Yep fellas, we'll put this one off for another time.

It just so happens, that I was watching some Caterham racing on telly earlier today. They were at Brands Hatch, and their barn door aerodynamics made for interesting tactics during the races; the lead was changing almost constantly.

Anyone fancy racing MX5s around Brands, with high slipstream, to replicate the Caterham effect?

I'd still be good for the Yamagiwa thing. The half hour pre-race practice would be enough for me to zone in the car to the lap time.

MX-5s are always okay though :D

Just realised wife not home until after 10 tonight. I doubt I’ll make the races anyway. Have fun whatever you decide.

I've been looking around in Brand Central and I just can't seem to find any MX-5's. Was it only available in the Mileage Exchange at some point?

Stock settings? Which tyre compounds?

Stock weight Sparkz, 130% power, to give it a bit of pep. C/S tyres to start, might change to S/H if necessary.

Sorry Jocke, it's known as the Roadster S in the dealership.

So it's her who usually does the driving for you Suts!

AMG GT & X-Bow correct?

They are for the team event Sparkz, which will now start on 25th September. On 18th we're doing the 2 minute lap at Yamagiwa II thing...

The circuit, Yamagiwa II.

Target time, 2:00.000.

Only regulation, C/S tyres. (This is an attempt to give a little parity to the manner in which each car produces its lap time. However, this will still allow for a vast range of characteristics for various cars.)

Points, 12 for a win, 10 for second, with 9,8,7 etc following. Bonus point for fastest legal lap.

Penalty for dipping into the 1 minute laps, half points lost for that race. Get below 1:59.500, or dip into the 1 minutes twice in one race, and it's 75% of points lost for that race.

Race duration, 10 minutes, plus finish lap.

Event settings, strong short cut penalty, no other penalties. Tyre and fuel degradation off. Slipstream and track edge grip real.

Rolling starts (To eliminate 4WD advantage) with fastest first for first race, then reverse grids thereafter. (However, anyone getting into the 1 minutes during pre-race qualifying will go to the back of the grid.)

Any car, the crazier the better!

do you guys think that you can have your motors sorted for the Yamagiwa thing by Tuesday 18th?
Sir, yes sir.

OK, I'll fire up GTS in a mo. I think I had my alternate close enough, and it's more fun than my primary.

I don't think I can get it any closer than this, and I only needed to spend ten minutes in order to get there.
I used your base, increased ride height, downforce and added a few more horses and kilos.

I've randomly gone for a Predator livery this time.

Eh up. I've been a bit quite over here recently. My GTS-ing has been limited of late. But...
your motor sorted for the Yamagiwa thing?
...my motor for the Yamagiwa thing is indeed sorted. Me on the other hand...

It's a N200 that I'd got. It'll hopefully do the trick.

That looks wicked @JockeP22 (Is it still OK to use wicked? I'm never sure on the latest terms.)

It's still wicked to use wicked. It's a nice word.
Can't take credit for the Predator though, it was just something I found by using the search engine.

That's a bit risky Jocke, it may well drop bellow 2 mins in the heat of battle.
I'll have a big dinner then, that should add a tenth to the lap time.

Do we have to have just one? :D
As many as you like Famine, I think I'll take more than one for a spin.

A quick word on qualifying for the first race chaps. I'll get the room up just after 8pm, and it doesn't matter how quick you lap before 8:30. At 8:30 I'll reset the track and we'll run quali up to 8:40, with a fastest first grid. Drop below 2 minutes in that period and you'll relegate yourself to the rear.

It'll be interesting to see how close things get at the front.

Cjeers. Zo.
