Well I must say I quite enjoyed that. For once I could actually keep up! Lots of clean position swapping going on, very entertaining.

Try that little Toyota FR-S racing concept @Zolon32 it'd be great for a one make race sometime. Un-tuned, about 225hp and CS tyres would work a treat. It's got loads of grip, which I think might have been spotted. Fairly cheap as well if not everyone has it.

Does this mean Spa confirmed?
No, Lada. :mischievous:

I've given it a go Paul, and I do think it'd make for good racing. Watch this space...

Speaking of racing, I missed the replay for race three last night. I don't have a clue why, but brain fade is my best guess.

So, I don't have the results including the bonus point for the fastest lap in that race, or any deduction for the sub two minute laps (if there were any) apart form Suts. I made a note of his when I had the results screen up.

I doubt if it would make any difference, but if anyone has the replay from race three and knows differently, please tell me.

THE RESULTS. * fastest legal lap. % minus for illegal lap.

RACE ONE. 1/Famine 2/Andreas* 3/Paul 75% 4/Zo 5/Sparkz 6/Mark 7/Jocke 8/Suts 50%

RACE TWO. 1/Suts 2/Sparkz 3/Mark 4/Famine* 5/Jocke 75% 6/Andreas 7/Paul 8/Zo

RACE THREE. 1/Suts 75% 2/Zo 3/Famine 4/Andreas 5/Mark 6/Jocke 7/Paul 8/Sparkz

RACE FOUR. 1/Sparkz 2/Paul* 3/Mark 4/Andreas 5/Famine 6/Zo 7/Jocke 8/Suts 75%

RACE FIVE. 1/Suts 50% 2/Sparkz* 3/Famine 4/Paul 50% 5/Zo 6/Mark 50% 7/Andreas 50% 8/Jocke

And these results give us the following overall scores...

Jocke, 22.

Suts, 25.

Paul, 27.

Mark, 34 (But the award for most-fun-on-the-night with his 'sideways everywhere' Mustang.)

Zo, 35.

Andreas, 36.

Sparkz, 44.

Famine, 46!

Congratulations to Sparkz and Famine, way out ahead, neither got a penalty, and each had a fastest legal lap. Well done fellas. Well done also to Suts, for managing to end up with a positive score, despite getting approximately 975% taken off for going too fast (occasionally) :)

And, sorry to Mark for ruining one of his races by getting my defend/brake strategy wrong and basically dodging in front of him and slamming all on :dunce:

Cheers, fellas. I'll stick some pearls of wisdom on the Duos event thread today, and we can all start practicing for an epic couple of races next week. Looking forward to it already.

Cheers, Zo.

For Race 3 I have:
1 - @Sutsagrd - 2'10.631; 2'00.865; 2'00.225; 2'02.612; 1'59.380 - 10'13.713
2 - @Zolon32 - 2'06.524; 2'01.454; 2'02.627; 2'01.505; 2'01.632 - 10'13.742
3 - Famine - 2'08.433; 2'00.972; 2'02.505; 2'03.158; 2'00.439 - 10'15.507
4 - @AndreasR - 2'09.149; 2'02.501; 2'01.216; 2'04.387; 2'00.513 - 10'17.766
5 - @Venari - 2'09.559; 2'00.622; 2'03.163; 2'03.684; 2'01.041 - 10'18.069
6 - @JockeP22 - 2'06.441; 2'02.743; 2'03.874; 2'03.903; 2'01.319 - 10'18.280
7 - @IfAndOr - 2'07.626; 2'00.712; 2'02.480; 2'04.661; 2'02.537 - 10'18.016 + penalty
8 - @Sparkz_360 - 2'11.789; 2'00.768; 2'00.601; 2'02.087; 2'02.645 - 10'17.890 + penalty

Edit: Wait, I've just noticed Suts had the fastest legal lap as well as the illegal lap. Does he still get 0.25 of a point for that, or does it go to the person with the fastest legal lap who also didn't get an illegal lap (which would be me)?

@Zolon32 For the team event I am not sure if I will be able to make it. Having a difficult time at the moment, just thought I would let you know rather than bailing out last minute.

I will keep you updated hoping everything is sorted.

Wait, I've just noticed Suts had the fastest legal lap as well as the illegal lap.

I’m sorry guys. I did obviously have an overpowered car to compensate for my rubbish driving skills.

I think the illegal lap trumps the fastest lap as it’s unfair to all you guys who actually had a car which when pushed to the limit can lap within a fast 2minutes.

Anyway I did have fun being able to keep up with all of you!!

I am not sure if I will be able to make it. Having a difficult time at the moment,
Sorry to hear that Sparks. Honestly I know I won’t be able to compete every week anyway and I’ve hardly done any practice. So no worries...sorry Zo. I’m happy to drop out if sparks cant attend.

Yep, it's you who gets it Famine, which simplifies things, in as much as it means that you won overall by a slightly larger margin. Good on yer 👍

Sorry to hear that Sparkz, but don't worry Suts, there is a contingency for one person being missing from a team. I'll update the Duos event thread to explain.

The Duos thing is a monthly event, with 'normal' racing in the weeks between, so hopefully even if you have top miss the first one Sparkz, you'll be around for the second, third etc.

Cheers, Zo.

Yeah, @JockeP22 , that was awesome, but on the other hand the only possibility to catch up with you guys. This car was so slow at start I got last no matter if I started first or in the middle.

I was going to use the 2&4, but switched so we weren't turning up in the same dress...

I warned everyone on mic to watch out for you in the long bends as I knew the car was 10mph (16km/h) faster on them. I'm not sure they believed me until the first race

The size difference caused me a mild panic though. I completely lost sight of you a few times, alongside my rear wheel!

We can always rely on Jocke to produce a brilliant vid 👍

So, this week fellas, it's that Toyota F-SR Racing Concept '16 that Paul used last week. It really is a cracking motor.

Set it to 81% power, 89% weight. C/S tyres, no tuning allowed.

We'll have plenty of quick-fire races at tiny circuits, Suzuka East and Miyabi. Perhaps one little off road venture too, depending on how things go, or a bigger circuit. Frankly, I don't know, but I'm sure that the little Toyota will allow for a lot of close, interesting racing.

Cheers, Zo.

Maybe a one-lapper around Nordschleife to finish it off, haven't been 'round there in a while.

You took the words right off my keyboard Jocke. I was thinkling that it would be a happy way to end an evening of frantic racing around tiny circuits. (The 'thinkling' thing was a typo, but I decided to leave it as it seems like an appropriate word for light hearted thinking. Thinking itself is much more serious.)

Nordschleife. It's nice in the morning with the sun just rising. I'm into the various time settings now. :)

I haven't made it rain or snow yet though. ;)

I'll be using one of these tonight.

Cool to see @Sjaak join for a few. 👍

mild panic
Yes that's precisely what I experienced approaching Schwalbenschwanz.
I kept looking in my rear view for the whole lap to see where you were and
I lost concentration for one corner and that's when you went in for the kill. Brilliant.
And a great win, Famine. Only three tenths at the line. :boggled:

Watch Paul during the second race at Lago Maggiore if you saved that replay.
I pitted on the first lap and subsequently waited for Paul since he was a bit far back.
I then chose to follow him for the remainder of the race, just watching him as the madness ensued.
You didn't get one corner right, Paul.
In his own words "I wanted to see how many penalties I could get".
They were quite a few, Paul, I can attest to that.

I had nearly 50 seconds worth at one point! It kept winding down though. :dopey:

The car felt great last week but strangely didn't seem to have much grip this evening. Odd.

Edit: I've just realised I'd got my Pro's super sampling mode switched on (for Pcars), turning this off seemed to help with the grip previously. Which also is odd. It's off again now.

Your life is too complicated Paul...

Centenary Celebrations?

Well, I'm sure that we've been racing for at least one hundred weeks, and definitely had over one hundred races together, so I think it's about time. So, on Tuesday 2nd October we will be doing some racing (Group B cars, S/S tyres, Fuji. BoP on). However, before that, we're having a party!

To celebrate one hundred whatever-it-is we are going to go back one hundred years.. To the times when Paul was just a lad, playing in the streets with his mates. A game which was popular at that time was 'Tag'. The idea is that one person is 'It' and all the other people avoid It like he's a U2 fan trying to give away some concert tickets. If It touches one of the others, then he joins It, and the two set off in an attempt to touch the others. (This isn't as creepy as it sounds, none of them are 52 years old.) Each person who gets touched joins the marauding hoard, who finally descend upon the last one and smash him to pieces.

Anyway, what we're going to do is this:

The setting is Big Willow (don't worry if you don't like Big Willow, we're not racing there). By the drawing of lots we determine the order of play. The first person who is 'It' sits in the pits while everyone else runs away in any direction they wish. A second person, (The Observer) doesn't take part, but spectates. When the Observer decides that the runners have had ten seconds out of the pits, then he instructs 'It' to set off in pursuit.

'It' chases the runners and attempts to make contact with one. As soon as contact is made, then It texts the name, so that everyone knows who has joined him. The Observer makes a note of the order in which people get caught. Each person caught becomes another 'It' and they chase the remaining free runners.

Once everyone has been caught the game is over. The first person caught gets one point, the next, two, and so on. If anyone survives for five minutes he gets three bonus points. (The Observer monitors the time.)

The 'It' then becomes the observer for the next game, and the Observer becomes a runner. We continue going until everyone has had a go at being It, then we add up the points. Then we race...

Sounds like childish fun, the sort I really like!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, you can use any car you like, tuning permitted, 250BHP maximum power, 1000kg minimum weight.

EDIT EDIT: Forgot to mention, of course, the entire playground is available to roam; outfield, infield, circuit, the lot. Only not the pits.

Sounds mental. Why not. :P

This begs the question, Paul. Were you also around to witness when the first successful steam engine locomotive was built?

And just in general, you know you are old when you spot that first gray hair… on your son.

@Zolon32 In light of what you mentioned on t'other thread do you want to go ahead with Tuesday's meeting or run it some other time? We could do some "normal"* racing instead if you're up to it.

* Whatever we call normal anyway!

As my Mrs has told me Paul, 'He'd want you to be happy'. I don't suppose that he would find messing around on GT as amusing as licking the plates as I try to load the dish washer, or chasing those pesky pigeons out of the garden, but I'll imagine that he's sitting there besides me joining in the fun, and barking very loudly at everyone around!

Jolly good, that's probably the best way.
Hmm, I haven't got a dish washer, perhaps I ought to get a dog instead then. The cat's much too fussy to lick any old plate. She's good with the pigeons though!

Around? Well my second name is Trevithick...
