Did it have an interior view? :mischievous:
All I remember was a shonky turning circle (we did runs up and down a hillside near Bala for the camera) and braaaaaaaaaaaaaaap braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap.

I had a similar problem with my 1999 Nissan Primera. At our local tip I had to shuttle backward and forward several times to get in or out of a parking position before/after dumping my garbage :)

By the way, I'm utterly hammered at the moment. Hoping to sober up by 20:00, by which time the room should be open. Anyone wishing to climb the ladder before 20:30 can join me. Could throw a spanner in the mix :)👍

Illustration above, if anyone's wondering what utterly hammered means.

Brilliant fun. Good turnout. Excellent system although who would have thought the BMW CSL is a stealth mr2...you suddenly find yourself backwards in a hedge!!

I was just getting the hang of the 365 towards the end. I found that in the last race Famine constantly in my mirror focusses the mind!

And now I'm starting in the M4 next week, a bit more tricky. I must try and get a little practice in. At least it's not the other BMW.
CSL = Comfort Soft Lethal it seems.

Insanity time...

I've been trialling the Ladder at Silverstone (spoiler alert: if you're not driving an M4, you're not winning) and my wheel hasn't missed a single downshift. Or inserted any new ones.

It's strange how these things work out. I'm still quicker in the GTB than the M4, even at Silverstone, but I'm glad to hear that your wheel is behaving there.

If any of the other chaps have time to test the motors, I'd appreciate some feedback about this.

On the matter of the cars we'll be using, I've decided to modify the ladder for Silverstone, in an attempt to get the handicapping working correctly.

The cars I'm planning to have are:

Ferrari 365 GTB4.

BMW M4 Coupe.

BMW M3 GTR '03 (Muscly brother to the CSL).

Aston V12 Vantage '10.

Chevy Camaro SS '10.

Maserati Granturismo GT S '08.

This is the order I have found them to run in, fastest at the top. Please folks, do feel free to add any comments.

Cheers, Zo.

Weird. I did three laps in the Ferrari and was faster on my very first M4 lap by over a second. I went back and tried the M3 and was 0.7s slower after three laps than in the Ferrari.

And five seconds back in the C63OMG.

Is that still with the aid of a bank card? Without any monetary transactions that is. Bodge now play later.

Zo, or anyone, was it Silverstone GP that was selected for next week? I wasn't paying full attention.

oh hai again

Are aero parts being allowed or not?

I will change colour to some kind of red, because I painted my whole garage red.

I liked it :(

I think you forgot to add the Z8 to the list. ;)

Okay fellas, given Jocke's feelings for the Z8, and Famine's quite masochistic thoughts on the C63, I've done a bit of testing. The Z8 is way off the times of the other cars in the group, but it and the C63 are remarkably close.

Cue more testing, and a potential for a completely new set of motors for the Silverstone ladder. Will let you know ASAP.

It's okay John, it's not the colour of the garage that counts, it's the cars themselves 👍. My own garage is mainly red, with white doors and a grey roof.

Cheers, Zo.

It makes a nice noise and I only spun it in Vale.

Would the Tuscan Speed Six and Viper GTS '02 fit into the list? They make nice noises too.

Zo, can't you use the motors (or some of them) from your previous championship?

I wasn't completely happy with the relative performances with those motors Paul, although, I have to say, I wasn't very happy with that aspect of last Tuesday either. But the list from the previous championship has the M4 being the fifth fastest, with the 365 first, yet Famine finds the M4 to be quicker than the 365! It's all very frustrating. Punting the C63 around, I'm having a right laugh, but I can see some people finding it horribly frustrating with its refusal to get its rocket-ship motor to communicate with the tarmac.

Just a bit more testing, and I might be there...

Cheers, Zo.

I trialled a few cars on the wheel and the C63 was almost undrivable. And I like to drift.

So I trialled it with the DS3 and was faster in the C63 than any car with the wheel. With, almost certainly, more tyre wear.

Yeah Mark, the C63 does require a certain style of driving to get it to deliver; one which suits me but, I suspect, only a small percentage of GT6 users. For that reason, regrettably, I have to rule it out. Maybe I'll set up a race specifically for the C63 one day, and see if anyone wants to take it on. Fully tuned, comfort hards... Magic!

With that in mind, I'm going to stick with the car list in post 1, Ferrari 365 GTB4, M4 Coupe, M3 GTR '03, Aston V12 Vantage '10, Chevy Camaro SS '10, and Maserati Granturismo S '08. All on C/S tyres, stock, with oil change.

Jammy will start the first race in the GTR, Paul and I will be in the M4, and everyone else will be in the GTB.

If there is a field of six or fewer drivers, then only the first and last places will bring change, of one rung each (where appropriate, downwards). If more than six turn up, then we'll have the 1st/2nd, last and 2nd last thing.

Cheers, Zo. (Sorry for the confusion/dithering fellas. It won't happen again, probably.)

Current testing:
M4: 2.24.0
Ferrari: +1.0s
Aston: +1.6s
M3: +1.7s
Camaro: +1.7s
Maserati: +3.4s

Also, the wheel is still behaving itself. And now I come to think of it, the only time it hasn't behaved is in these online lobbies... How bizarre.

Great news for the testing Famine, not so good for racing...

It's really good having a second driver giving them a run, to get a better view of their relative pace. I'll put more time in with them between now and Saturday evening, then use our combined differentials to rank them. That way everyone will at least know which we're using in advance. Either M4 or 365 are going to be first, for certain.

Thanks for your time, Zo.

On Comfort Softs, the Aston is incredibly twitchy - I did only manage one spin, but since that was a 4th gear tank slapper through Turn 4, it was a bit of a monster. You can hear the tyres complaining in a straight line right through to 5th. If you can keep it together, it's a rocket.

The Camaro is a tank, but has curiously good brakes. The M4 is just plain nice, and the Maserati is hard work and sounds terrible.

Although my times may be super slow or super fast - it was all in offline Arcade time trial.

That's how I'm doing mine Famine, too. Think I'm finished now, and it's looking like, M4, 365, Vantage, M3, but after that, the 8C could possibly fit. I've had a run in it, and that's where I find it to be. Can you have a few laps in it and see if you concur? Then it's the SS 10, followed by the Mazer, which I've got being 4.7 seconds behind my base line.

Can I start with the M4 too (talking about pace)? :nervous:

I think that is going to be the base car John, in which case you will start with it, yes.

@jammy21 Have you noticed the change from M3 GTR to Aston V12? I think that's how they'll line up.

Cheers, Zo.
