We will all be driving the same car in the first race,
I have a question. When you say we are all driving the same car are you sure we can all fit in it? Or are we taking it in turns? ;)

Anyway, in the remote chance that I can make it, I'd probably like to go with the Mamas & the Papas and opt for California dreaming.

(It's a shame the roof is closed in GT6)

With four days to go, a reminder of what Zolon wrote in the first post of the thread;

This is a matter that will be taken seriously during the championship chaps. I want it to be as near real world driving as the game can be, and repeatedly tapping a car you are following, whether you are knocking it off line or not, doesn't happen in real world racing, and won't be tolerated in this championship. Neither will first lap barge-pasts, it's an hour long race at minimum, there will be plenty of opportunity.
It will be a lot more enjoyable if we all remember and respect this rule/plea from Zolon.

It always brightens my day to see an entry from you Paul, you cheeky monkey.

Thanks for the timely reminder Jocke. I admit that I feel a bit heavy handed over this, but it is really important that people try to drive as if it was for real, and imagine the body shop repair bills!

I can't wait, cheers, Zo.

I'd like to join, #66 and something yellow.

You're very welcome Zeus. That's ten full time, and five part time sign-ups. We could be in for a decent series.

Can you get together with Rich please and choose which yellows you are going to use, to keep a distinction going through the field. Yellow 'toy' cars always bring back a terrific feel-good sense to me, related to Scalextric, for some reason. I don't have a clue why :)

Cheers, Zo.

Same goes for you @Harsk100 and @CrazyJohn Can you each pick a specific green please.

Cheers,cheers, Zo.

Decision what car we use in 1st round?

I'm glad you asked that question Jammy. It's the California!

And, although that car can probably make 28 laps without a stop, in order to keep consistency throughout the series, there will be one compulsory pit stop.

I've tested penalties, and the corner where I think they would give greatest benefit, Copse, penalties don't kick in at all. It doesn't have a 'you carried too much speed in and ran wide, but kept on going' setting. So, penalties will be off.

Cheers, Zo.

I meant a normal Green Colour.

Chaps, please don't make me loose ALL of my hair before we have even begun. The colours have names, such as Java, or Taiga Metallic, or GT Old Generation 002-W. Just pick one for your exclusive use, and state its NAME!

I thank you, Zo.
I would like to use the "GT FLUORESCENCE 004-W" paint colour.

Mine is called green metallic, it's darker than Harsk's green. And Harsk's colour is gloss, mine is self explanatory.

It looks like this (look on the GTR) (I don't have the California on the colours yet):

Jocke. Gold Chrome, No 68.
Just to be on the safe side Zo, my Gold Chrome paint job is one of those kind of "gold-ish" looking chromes. It's similar to every other type of chrome in the game, only mine is gold. I'm not quite sure exactly how PD went about programming this color into the game but it definitely looks like Gold Chrome, and as it happens that is precisely the name they chose for it.

My race number is that of 89, but up-side-down. Meaning 68. One less than Rob's 69.

Gold Chrome

Yes, I know the Drug Dealer/Pimp hue to which you refer Jocke, and jolly tasteful it is too.

My race number is that of 89, but up-side-down. Meaning 68. One less than Rob's 69.

Isn't an upside down 89 86? Rotate it through 180 degrees, and it becomes 68 👍. Yes, I did get my head kicked in a lot at school.

Cheers, Zo.

Tyres and weather - only CS's even in 100% wet?

'Only' C/S Jammy? The mighty C/S! That's all we need, you'll barely notice the difference when/if the rain comes, honest. The weather will be changing so quickly I seriously doubt if we'll ever get anywhere near 100%, but C/S can handle it easily. It'll give you that chance to get it sideways!

Cheers, Zo.

Ah, I get Ferrari many times sliding without water. C7 was/is better handlle with CS, but anyway Ferrari is ok after you get hang of the weight distribution.

Ferrari Modena yellow for me

Thanks Zeus. Nice colour, that. Suits the Cali really well. If you choose to come last at Silverstone, or even third last, you could use the Cali at Apricot Hill too. Just a suggestion ;)

Cheers, Zo.

Blue Pearl colour (yes, I wanted to change).
It is a dark blue colour that kind of looks like 25% matte and 75% gloss. I have no idea about characterising colours like that anyway.
Number still 25.

I wanted to use the "GT FLOURESCENSE 003-W" and not the "GT FLOURESCENSE 004-W"

You're perfectly welcome to do that Harsk, and I'll make the appropriate change to post 2.

A quick word on track limits chaps.
I stick to what I think is the most common interpretation, in that, everything that is either the black road surface, or the red and white striped kerb is a part of the track. So, if you have at least some part of your car in contact with, or directly above, them, at all times, then you are in compliance. Silverstone has some kerbs which are alongside the red and white striped ones. Some are solid red, others are solid green. These are not part of the circuit, for the purposes of my interpretation of track limits (and, frankly, it is my interpretation that counts).

We are all, of course, trying to get around the laps as quickly as we can, and occasionally, when we are pushing at the edges, trying to find that very fastest line, we'll slip up, and violate track limits. Everyone makes such a mistake once or twice in a race. However, when a racer is pushing so hard to find the very fastest line, that he 'accidentally' violates track limits frequently, then that racer is gaining an unfair advantage, and is driving very much outside the spirit of enjoyable competition that is at the heart of all we do at Racers Reunited. Anyone who is so desperate to win, at the cost of those who are staying within the rules, will be asked to find their fun elsewhere.

Cheers, Zo.
