I've got the list. I've been told I have to buy a standard model car from that list in order to race mod it. How am I supposed to know- when looking at them in the dealership- which cars are standard model?
Thanks

New car dealer are premiums and the used cars dealers are standards

I'm sure it's only premium models only that can be race modified.

Thanks for the response! I only got that car because Ayrton Senna helped develop it in 1990/1991.

And it is a quite underwhelming car in the end (for today's standards) in terms of power, but boy oh boy does that thing still handle sooooo sweetly.

I got this message last night aswell i was busy RM'ing my Evo and did stage 1 engine and then thought NO let me RM it first then ill do the rest so i did that and when i went to buy stage2 it said you must install in correct order when stage 1 was already installed so i bought stage 3 to see what would happen and again the message came up. I have the stuff in my items bag but it still wont install it onto the car. Anybody got a suggestion?

When you race mod a car it uninstalls the engine stage tunings, but you still own them. Get in your car in your garage and select Tuning. The Stage 1 will show up, but you have to select it and re-install it there.

When I first got the game I race modded an already fully tuned Corvette ZR1 and lost a ton of horsepower. I couldn't figure it out at first, because my engine stage tunings still showed up, so I assumed they were still installed. There is no way to tell that they aren't. The only reason I figured it out was because I just got frustrated and clicked on it to try to do something. Would be nice to have something more intuitive designed for this process. Everyone is confused by it.

Also, when you race mod a car you have to re-break in the engine. It's essentially like getting a brand new engine. This is another reason people think they are losing horsepower.

The best method for race modding is to do it BEFORE any tuning. Many of the tuning parts you can buy are included in the race mod "package", so you would essentially just be buying them twice. It also avoids all of this horsepower loss confusion and having to re-install previously purchased mods.

Im thinking of buying the lexus and RM:ing it, will it spin easily after turns? Since my gallardo wont even if i slam the right pedal to floor, neither my charger, will this? Or should i get lotus and RM that? How will that handle? (Phew lots of questions.. :))

The Gallardo is 4wd, that's the reason why it doesn't spin....

Pretty sure the only cars with Racing Modification are the ones with RM on the end of the name. Check the official car list and there are a few with the tag RM on it. So far it only seems like those

Well, You see, It's AFTER you change the Car to it's Race Modification feature the "RM" is tagged onto it.

For example,
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 '69.

<Race Modification>

Chevrolet Camaro Z28 RM '69.:sly:

I saw a McLaren F1 RM last night!! But it won't let me RM mine!?

How did he RM it?? Does it have to be stock to RM it?

In GT Auto - you can purchase an aero package for the car that makes it look very similar to the McLaren F1 "LM" ..... Probably what you saw..

He just said that he cant! Telling him how when he already knows isnt going to get him anywhere, is it? Thats like telling somebody to **** off when they already did.

No, you didn't.

But it won't let me RM mine!?

That's because you can't.

He didn't.

If it were possible to perform a Race Modification to a McLaren, previous modifications would be irrelevant.

PS: You probably saw a Stealth Model F1 ;)

Well when you go into GT Auto - you buy the aero packages (accordingly) that make it visually resemble the famous LM model. What is with your response? I know you cannot RM it - but I provided the person with a method to make it as close as possible.

He stated he couldn't perform the "actual" RM but saw one similar .... This was how.

Yesterday I brought Corvette ZR1 (C6) RM '09 and fully tuned it and then realize it can be race mod. After I race mod it I can't seem to get it to 899 hp. I have reinstall all the tuned part that was uninstall when I race mod it. Any Advice?

So I have a question. When you race mod a car I know that it comes with all the possible upgrades needed. Racing Suspension, Engine up grades, weight reduction, blah blah blah.

My question is, say you were to purchase everything in upgrades for the car PRIOR to realizing that you have the ability to RM the vehicle. Now does the RM purchase reduce the price due to the upgrades already acquired or does it charge you full price for upgrades that go with the RM.

Essentially making you pay for everything a 2nd time in stead of being like "Well they already have a stage 3 so that's not necessary, so lets remove that price from the RM credit payment"...

When race modding a vehicle - it states that ALL previous installed parts will be removed/uninstalled.....

You can purchase some things "post race modifying" but it's certainly best to race mod a stock car and then purchase additional parts.

If I remember correctly it did not lower the cost. All it did was uninstall a lot of parts. Make sure your car is able to race mod. If it is race mod it then buy tuned parts. I am still having problem trying to get it to the max hp that was posted. Going to break it in and then rebuild the engine/ oil change and see if that will fix it.

In addition to the McLaren F1 with aero bits, and the Stealth model shown above, there is a BMW McLaren F1 GTR Race Car ‘97:

As I said, 15 is better than 0, would you prefer there to be 0? I wouldn't and I don't see why you would either? people complained that the feature was gone so they tried to bring it back and now it is back people complain there isn't enough cars with it on! they really can't win can they?

yes they can win, gt2 had alot more than 15 cars to race mod (my first car was aloud of crap, but it was aloud rm) thy only 15 i know for a fact that it wont take more than a week to edit 100 premium cars to race mod be able to have a race mod.

Worth noting that the RM option doesn't even give you racing tyres. It also leaves you the 'option' to upgrade the engine further (for extra credits, of course).

If you've already spent time, effort and cash on your car before you RM, it's probably worth keeping at it is and buying another stock version and RM that instead.

My idea is to have stock and RM versions throughout in any case.

Now does the RM purchase reduce the price due to the upgrades already acquired or does it charge you full price for upgrades that go with the RM.

The RM price doesn't decrease even if you already have parts on the car that will be added again by RM.

You don't get duplicates either. Say you have a Race Exhaust, you won't get a second one to give away during the RM.
