Do you mean not all gold, or you don't do the last few series or do you mean you have outside assistance to get your S license ?

Did SSR11 enduro last night.

Wanted the F1 car ie bottom car.

Waited until the black GT symbol left the right hand car and pressed and held X. I am confident that it was on either the F1 or the left side car.

The black symbol then rotated either 1.5 or 2.5 times more before landing on the Arta NSX which is the top car.

Below is a quote from here

btw, random my butt!!!!!!

Yes, I know this thread is ancient. I was searching for S license stuff and came across this. I had to laugh.

Yeah. It was probably quite lame of me to dredge that up but I just couldn't help myself.

There is actually some good stuff in some of those old threads. At least I don't feel like a complete loser by struggling with the S license tests.

What is probably frustrating me the most is that I got S2 to within 1 second and knew where I could make up the time but from then on I could not nail the first few corners.

The same with S6 last night. I got to within 0.8sec and this was by missing the last corner but from then on I could not nail the first hairpin.

At least I now know the prize cars are not random. LOL.:P

Back to the X theory.

Last nights experience.

Dream Car Series.
Target RX7 Top.

1. FTO
2. S2000 (was 100% sure I hit X at the right time for the RX7)
3. RX7 green and kept it.

I will probably keep experimenting this way and posting the results.

I don't have the details of my last 2 outings but my conclusion is that the X theory DOES NOT WORK.

At least half the time I know I got prize cars other than the one I pressed and held X on.

I now only want 1 car from the Altezza race and 4 cars from the Dream Car series ie 2 FTOs, 1 RX7 and 1 S2000. I will try X just in case I am wrong but I don't think it works.

I've never tried the X theory. After reading this thread, I never will, and I never would have if I didn't read it either. I'd rather the game decide anyway. It makes me use cars I wouldn't have tried otherwise.

just now i finished the all stars in pro league. usually i do all the races but ssr11 and test course(cant win in poly 001).and usually the r390 gt1 race car comes in second in every race and so on the last race (r246) i have to come 1st to win a car. at the last race the points were:
me: 60
r390: 54
and so it is a small margin:irked:
and i always win the scooby:mad:
but just now i got to the last race prepared to do the save trick and i noticed that the points were:
me: 60
r390: 44
toyota gt1: 48
and so the margin is much bigger and i won the gtsr concept!:P
but what im trying to say is that i think the car you get is due to the point margin i.e. the more points you get the better the car u get.
so if u do all the races you're likely to get the best car :P :D

but thats just my theory:lol: :P ;)

and so the results of my theory:

little margin: scooby
slightly bigger margin: toyota gt1
big margin: r390 race
bigger margin: viper gtsr:P

and how many times i won each car:

scooby: 14:irked:
toyota gt1 race: 4
r390 gt1 race: 3
viper gtsr concept: 1:P :D

If you want to prove that theory do an experiment.

I can say that in my experience it is not correct. Otherwise the save game trick would not work. You will see from my experiment that from the same performance in the races all 4 cars came up.

It is RANDOM.

Don't base your theories on one outcome. Been there, done that. It ain't wise.

I agree and disagree with you there. I have tried the X theory, and while I don't always get the car I want I have noticed that it DOES influence the result.

I'm not arguing the point, just posting an opinion. I hope GT4 will have a code that allows you to properly choose which car you win. That would be awesome!!

I am cool with you having your own opinion but I have a couple of questions for ya.

1. Do you only or normally tend use the X when you are frustrated ?
2. How often does it "influence" the result ?

Ok I'll answer your questions as best I can...

1. I didn't use the X theory at all until I saw it on the web (at gamecodes.com or something). I tried it out and actually started getting cars that I wanted at that time. Now I try to use it all the time.

2. I have noticed that if I want a particular car, say on the East Pole, that when I use the X theory (with PROPER timing) that I will hit the East Pole or the North or South but ALMOST NEVER the West.

I'm not saying that it always works, but in my 2 months experience using this technique it does shed some results.

I'm not a hardcore supporter of this theory (I've done more than my share of reloading and trying again), but with the results I have obtained, I cannot deny that the X theory has potential to work.

I'll give you more results as I attempt more series races.

That's cool. I find the times when you hit the X and you think "Yeah, I timed it right" and then the booby prize comes as close to evidence against the theory.

But hey as long as well all enjoy this game thats all that counts.

That's so true!!! Whether you do X-theory or Random, just play the game and enjoy it.

And hope GT4 will have better options for getting the cars you want;)

What I find frustrating is that there are some cars eg Camaro SS that come in multiple colours (in this case 8), you can only win these colours at the Stars and Stripes Beginner but you can only win one of them as it is not a championship. In this case I reckon once you win the car you should be able to buy the other colours in the Car Dealer. I have no problem with having to unlock the car but unless you play the game 8 times and happen to get lucky and get a different colour each time you can't get all the colours.

I will do so with some cars using saved games and 2 memory cards but it is a pain to do.

Another option is to not have single race series or in the single race series have it so you can win the car again.
